I’ve got a story for you! It was Lawrence Kansas at a place called “The Bottleneck” you were support for Napalm Death. I saw you and Matt sitting at the bar, I walked up said “I’m buying you guys a beer”. Matt stands up abruptly and says “ bullshit I’m buying You a beer” we ended up drinking a few talking metal. Good times! Keep doing this! It’s much appreciated. Cheers!
Keep the quick riffs videos coming! I don't even watch so I can learn to play, I honestly just love watching you rip through Chimaira songs. The back story/history of the songs is always super interesting too.
EXACTLY!.. Super Underrated and I don't get it... I can't get it. I'm drawn to Rob so much because his style bled onto me... I'm just not a pro level player of course but yeah. Love it!
That's an awesome story about M5! Plus it ended up coming full circle when Mythbusters decided to use "The Impossibility Of Reason" on repeat in their "Do plants grow better when talked to?" experiment! I remember watching that episode and being like _holy shit that's Pure Hatred!_
@RobArnoldWorld I wonder if that actually had anything to do with the choice? Would be cool if Jamie was like "Well, if we need metal music, there was a band that did a music video here once..."
Man, the back story on the warehouse was awesome! I had no idea what that warehouse was or anything else you mentioned in there! Super cool to be in on the secrets 😄
Mark goes really in depth about this in his “Talk Toomey” podcast. I really recommend it dude, he talks about the whole Pass Out of Existence album track by track.
i been highly appreciating the 7 string lessons Rob! i have one and anytime i pick it up i just noodle because i'm bad at finding 7 string tabs to learn stuff on
I remember jamming super hard in my living room when this video came out. Still one of your heaviest songs. Personally Pass out of existence is one of my favorite albums. Maybe you should do a play through?
There's still just something really special about this album! Man! The riffs yall were writing in that tuning was so creative and (to me) unmatched still to this day!
This was the first chimaira song i heard, and it was on the road runner road rage dvd. After that, i immediately went to my local hmv and purchased the album... good times.
The way that you demonstrate the differences between the various forms ov harmonics REALLY helps Hell yeah, I cant wait to give em a shot this weekend. Eager to take my playing to the next level
Awesome!!! Brings back some amazing memories of that POOE tour with Slayer and American Head Charge. Saw you guys twice on that tour and was blown away.
That's an awesome back story on M5, I had no idea! Thanks for breaking down more tunes from Pass Out, such a banger of an album. More 7 string stuff is always welcome, your ESP is siiiiiick!
First Chimaira song I heard. Not long after went to my first show. Tek world in Louisville, KY. 18 visions, atreyu, lamb of god and the all mighty CHIMAIRA. Went on to see yall 6 more times live. Love your channel Rob. You're pretty damn good in front of a camera. Keep it "FULL BLOWN ASS RIPPING METAL"!
thanks rob, it's nice that you're doing this, it would be nice if you could do "Year Of The Snake" in this format, I've aways wanted to learn that song the way it was recorded.
This song is an onslaught of brutal heaviness!! Really cool that you guys filmed in M5 and the story behind it! And I love the 3 camera views for quick riffs/play through videos, looks awesome and is very helpful when watching it while learning the riffs! 🤘
Im so glad your channel came across my for you page. Chimaira was onr of my biggest influences growing up. I still remember the first song I heard. Was Implements of Destrction sitting in my friends basment.
I'd do this for every song in my catalog. Start with the 1st album & just go down the lists, one a month. Like, job security so to speak. And yes! I have the same mental issues with the 6 & 7 string change. I'm only a year in so my bigger issue is my right hand going to the wrong string. I've realize I need a day to transition to the 7
I love the music video, especially the beginning. It all builds up, then we get that epic jump 🔥 The rest is history 😄 These are awesome, we gonna get the Empty?
I’d love one for The Venom Inside. The dive riff is so badass. I know maybe the non-whammy guys (like myself) may be out but I’d love to see it anyway.
In order to get the instructional dvd do I have to be part of the patreon? I remember seeing small clips from it years ago here on RUclips from rock house and it really helped push me to play. Cant imagine what the entire dvd would do

Hey man long time no see! It’s you’re boy Liam, haven’t commented in a while my band is currently recording our album in the studio. But we all really love chimaira and the majority of our songs are in drop A and we want too cover split and I’m unsure how covering works like if we ask you’re old label permission or you guys if that’s okay too do? Hopefully you can help us out we really want too show appreciation too you guys being a huge inspiration too our band and we feel like chimaira is heavily underrated and we kinda want people who don’t know who chimaira is too find out what chimaira is from our cover but yeah let me know soon brother! Awesome Liam! Happy to hear you guys are covering Split! You don't need permission from anyone to do so. However, if you try and upload to a streaming service for distribution, you'll be prompted to acquire a license. All streaming aggregates like Distrokid, Cd Baby, etc, offer services for that. So you'll just have to do a little research (if this is the route you plan to take), and they'll guide you through it! The license does cost money, but I have no idea how much. 🤘
