Perhaps... For me it was the best Chimaira album, I really enjoyed their nu metal/industrial oriented metal. Pass Out of Existence is a banger from Let Go to Jade!
This was the first Chimaira song I heard back in 8th grade in 03 maybe 04, good times. It's crazy to think how long it's been for the band though. My generation is blessed with great musicians to learn from who, 20 years later, are still making music and living. 14 year old me would never imagine we'd be lucky to have personalized content by our favorites like this. Thanks Rob
Back in high school I played this racing videogame called FlatOut. The game's soundtrack was all about punk and rock and metal and there was a song called Dead Inside (can't remember the name of the band), and when I looked it up on youtube I found Chimaira's Dead Inside instead. And that's how I discovered one of my all time favorite metal bands, completely by accident
When I discovered you guys back in high school, it was when Resurrection was your latest album and I loved that so much. Then I went further back with previous albums and Dead Inside was my song for the longest time in my freshman going into sophomore year. Thank you so much for giving us a proper lesson on to play one of my favorite songs of my youth
I love these lessons! The tabs are amazing but watching you play each riff and seeing the little nuances like that slide to the 5th fret that's not in the tab takes things to another level as well as just hearing the stories behind riffs and songs
Those rings you were getting on the palm open notes was your string overtones past the nut on headstock. Little foam there will take care of that. Or a fret wrap. Happens on my esp too. One of my fav songs from u guys. Brings me back to highschool lol
Thank you for making this, I just bought my first 7-string after playing six strings for 20 years. You make this song easy to learn and break down techniques like a natural teacher. Never heard this song before. RUclips brought me here. You've got a new listener/subscriber here!👍
Really cool! It sounds so nu metal listening to it now but I remember at the time thinking how next level this stuff was! I'm gonna have to go back and jam some of this early stuff. Fun times!
I love this track, still randomly crack open the ole dead inside and severed tracks to jam too. I’ve never had a 7 string (always wanted one man) so I had to do the unthinkable on a normal scaled 6 string and downtuned to drop A. Didn’t have the much desired clarity but still had fun 😅
I watched that video from farm club so many time in the early 2000’s. Great sound on this album I was drawn to it’s almost fear factory style riffing, was this Jason’s influence as ‘impossibility’ Musically was quite different.
@@RobArnoldWorld yeah . Check some fry scream vids out. Harsh vocals etc. I enjoyed when Mark went low vocals. The Dead Inside Death metal part . Got me started. First song I ever heard, saw you guys on farmclub! still my favorite song. Thanks for switching to the top view. I was thinking "man, this is gonna be a bitch to learn with no fret markers." 😂😂
You are correct sir! Two guitars are playing different things, and they create a dissonance. Full and 100% accurate tab is noted in the tab file available through RobArnoldWorld.com It's funny too, how you referred to it as a "metalcore chord". 🤘🤣 Awesome that we have our "own brand" of chords!🎸
Yes. The album was recorded on 7 strings. Shortly thereafter, we downtrend some baritones to play select songs live on a 6, but this song was never one of them.

Is there video of chimaira playing severed during that farm club performance. I thought I seen mark say he was so winded during it because your guys played severed first and he went crazy during it.
Damn that tone is so beefy it makes it sound lower than A, which speaking of which, whose idea was it to go to G for Jade? No one was really playing in G at the time
Hey, Rob, I know you talked about the tuning change before and mentioned the innate muddy tone/lack of clarity of the detuned 7 string. Have you ever tried using a Multi-Band compressor in the chain? I use the TC Electronic HyperGravity for my 7/8 string guitars before gain/distortion to clamp down the low end. The TonePrint function let's you control and fine tune the parameters to focus on certain bands. It can also be applied after the gain/distortion to control the swelling bloom of those muted chugs.

I forgot all about that outro riff. I think it's my favorite part of the song.
Love the Quick Riff segments Rob. All your content is fresh and inspiring. Great work again!! Keep em coming!

This is awesome! I have loved this song since I was handed a demo outside a Soulfly show in 2002

Great content as always, Rob! I love watching you play these down-tuned riffs. Ya'll did that style so well. Can't wait to see more from you!

Na, I'd say it was Mark, Andols, and I, who were most influenced by Fear Factory, and that style of syncopation.
One thing I’d love to see is you go over Rizzo and maybe loop in Steph from deftones for his part or memories on it?
Another POOE song! Keep em coming Rob!
There’s no hope for me now but I’m gonna make my kids watch this and hope they are inspired, I don’t know they they couldn’t be
Great idea!
