- The Apollo Precision 5 Hvlp is one of the best true hvlp systems on the market. In this video I show how to hookup the 2 quart pressure pot, set and setup your apollo 7700 gun. We look at pressure drop with the Apollo Precision 5 Hvlp sytstem and how to choose between the B and High solids air cap. I wrap up the video by giving you my final thoughts on the Apollo Precision 5 hvlp system. I hope you enjoy the video and remember to "Test Dont Guess"

Great demo, love the back wall. And the CIC shirt! The fan pattern on that gun is really nice as well
greg Saunders while I am shooting renner!!! Lol
Thanks for the video! And I like the new wood back drop!
PSJ W nice trying to keep It from looking like a jail cell. Lol!!!
Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for this demo. What tip size & cap would you recommend for pre-cat lacquers & conversion varnish solvent based? Thanks
akd052774 1.3 or 1.5
I was told these Apollo HVLP are the best. I’m considering getting one .
They are in terms of turbines and HVLP are concerned. But they don’t work as well as airless for high viscosity Italian coatings without thinning. All depends on what you are shooting and trying to accomplish.
@@ericreason6559 What is best for the 2k italian coatings like Renner? Ultimately I'd like to be able to produce a professional looking 2k cabinet paint finish, as well as finish mid-century modern furniture. I have the 7700 but struggling to get it right with my compressed air system.
Thank you !!
Michal Jacek you are welcome
I really want to get this turbine and 4500 -2 Quart Fluid Feed System but its a costly setup. currently run the 7700 gun and with the C cap HS and 2.0 tip with a small 3 stage turbine it really helps to atomize paint better then say a normal C cap. but with a bigger setup i could prob drop down tip sizes and caps
Rick Bailey yeah it is an expensive unit but honestly it’s the best on the market as far as hvlp goes. Keep saving!!
Coul i just purchase the pressure pot ans gun set-up and attach it to my Graco 9.5 turbine unit ?
Sheelin Decor yes
Very well done Eric! Numbers don't lie. So you used a High solids B with a 1.3?. Apollo is making a more powerful turbine in the future? I was talking to a rep for Sivam coaitngs (italy) and he recommends an airless for those high solids poly 1k and 2k coatings.
Good to know that the Apollo can handle these thick coatings.. An airless would probably not need to be thinnned. The obvious benefit to using an HVLP is using less product and overspray which is important because they can be pricey. Just for kicks, have you ever compared an airless finish with a FFLP tip to a HVLP? I'd assume the HVLP to be better but how much better?
Ted Rinshed Apollo has a bigger system already but it runs on 220 circuit. You can use the 1.5 with a C cap or c high solids cap and That might push it over the cliff and get you better atomization. If you want to shoot the high viscosity coatings un-reduced airless or air-assisted airless, or double diaphragm pumps are the way to go. Also using double orfice tips make a huge difference. I haven’t seen a huge difference in quality but overspray and material usage is huge. The thing about the European Coatings is that they like to be put on heavy at 4-5 wet mils. I like the turbine system for easy and transport and it just a matter of choosing the right tool for the job.
Can you use a apollo echo 4 with a presure pot with out a compressor
Damian N no you have to have a compressor to run the pressure pot.
Eric, What do you have your compressor set at for your 2qt remote system..I want to purchase the one from Apollo, but maybe Santa will bring me a new toy this year!!.
Thanks
Ron Fladell it’s recommend to se it anywhere between 10-15 with thier setup.
Been using airless sprayer but interesting to test out especially with the 2K products which are more expensive and have a shorter potlife. What does fractures it would pay for itself my concern is am I able to put enough product on the surface
Stick with the airless way better
@@ericreason6559 thanks for response. What are your thoughts on maybe getting one for doing the cabinet boxes inside people's homes they can maybe a little less overspray. I really like the rental product but I don't like that you have to wait 24 hours for the primer. Would you suggest maybe using another primer then then the renter on top. I have been using Ben but have run in the same situations you described on one of your videos about the popping of the primer off the substrate I'm looking for something that drives that fast and blocks any type of bleeding
Which titan unit are you comparing this to?
115
What size compressor do you have
Damian N pankcake and a rolaire
Great video!
What do you think of the Graco Hvlp sprayer?
I hear Apollo has a better turbine
Hi Eric !
Thanks for this video,it's very helpful !
I am a bit confused and I need your help please.
I have Apolo VS 5 turbine and Fuji 2L turbine pressure pot. Still didn't test it. Is that will work or is wrong ?

Thanks
that was not a fair, you didnt test the apollo on the gun, the pressure lose is always on the gun not on the sprayer
I did this a while back but I am not sure why it’s not a fair comparison. It was comparing the Titan system vs the Apollo system. There is less pressure drop with the Apollo than the Titan system. If you put the Titan gun on the Apollo system it will compensate for the pressure loss and give you consistent pressure.
I'm with Eric you should have use the same gauge on the apollo, the pressure is always higher on the turbine than the end of the hose, but I also know that the apollo does accelerate the rpm when the pressure drops
Sparrow I actually did put the pressure guage on both and I found that the Apollo is dead accurate. When you are doing videos like this it’s hard to get in every detail and there are always people that will try to find holes in you test procedures. That’s why o always say test don’t guess and do it for yourself
@@ericreason6559 anyway I'm subscribed to your channel and I have made many changes thanks to your videos, and I am a big fan of your channel 👍👍
I hate everything titan
+Darrell Carter lmao.
They are super cheaply made. Lots of plastic
