This song is why I don’t understand when people say they miss the “old BTS” because they still very much do make songs like this along with the other genres they’ve dabbled in over the years. Sure they’ve evolved and matured but it’s be dishonest to say they lost the vibe in the music that made them BTS. My favorite song on BE.
I understand exactly what you mean now.. the sound is still the same in terms of the BTS lyrics/concepts. They’re still getting them taps off.. Vocals are still amazing.. like they really have no misses

Dis-ease is such an incredible song and you hear it and you KNOW it has j-hope all over it. If you hear record scratches, that's Hobi. And it's really clever too, lyrically. Full of double entendres. Jimin and Joon helped on the bridge and a couple of big deal producers from Brooklyn worked on the song too but it's got Hobi's signature style and sound. And we love a rap line feature! Everytime he goes "pyong pyong py-pya-pyonggg" KILLS ME. Ugh. What a king.

I love how the guy on the right felt it in his soul and said "stop playing with that man!" when Jimin's "i will never fade away!" part came. I was like exactly, tell them what it is! Dis-ease is one of the best BTS songs in my opinion. The lyrics are perfect, all the difficulties during the pandemic and quarantine, those feelings of restlessness. And the music is just great, each rap, the vocals. That song gives me a hype every time I listen to it.

Love how you mentioned that this would fit well in Dark & Wild. I placed Dis-Ease after the Interlude: What are You Doing Now & Could You Turn off Your Cell Phone & I’m never going back. It fits perfectly. Follow Dis-Ease w/ Moving On and it’s stellar.
The thing with BANGTANS discography is that songs from 2013 & ‘14 sit really well next to songs from ‘20 & more dispute the different production capacity they had access to before vs. now.
STAY, My Universe, DNA & Dynamite sit well together. Outro Ego transitions well into WINGS Outro.
Persona -> No More Dream -> Cypher PT. 3 -> Daechwita -> UGH! -> Beapsae all transition well into each other but sit all across their work. They explore a lot of textures in their work but it’s because of how they do it that everything seems to find its place and still sound like them.

I have been waiting for this forever. I'm so excited I got goosebump. Disease is a masterpiece to me! I wish they pick this song as the title song not Dynamite Butter or PTD. It really shows the balance and theirs skills in terms of vocal and rap. I feel like everybody shine in this song. Wish more people listen to it.

Jimin, j-hope and Joon right after said Joon wrote part of the bridge too. idk why you guys keep insisting on rewriting history like Jimin needs your misinformation to be appreciated for his contributions. BE is one of my favorite albums and Dis-ease is my fave track from the album( all other songs tie for 2nd🙂). There is something about when it gets to the bridge through the ending of the song that just gets me hype.

Dis-ease means they don't like being lazy & want to keep creating, a wordplay on the prefix "dis", but also simultaneously short for "disrepect", for not liking to be at ease or resting all the time. A vacation is nice & the band does that to help them rest physically & mentally, but not all the time. I think "Workaholic" is an apt definition., which itself has been considered a mental disease over the decades, especially for Type-A personalities.

It's a pity that the colour coded lyrics aren't 100 percent correct. The lyrics to this song are actually quite lovely, how it's about being uncomfortable (dis-ease) and how being uncomfortable is because of the 'disease of the human spirit and soul' because of life -if that makes any sense. That's how I interpreted it atleast. Loved the reaction!
We read the lyrics on different outlets too and we take color coded videos with a grain of salt.. we try our best to dive in 💜
