i've always said this as well. BTS is so unique with their sound, because they don't sound completely like kpop nor do they sound like western pop. It's somewhere in between and they've created the amazing sound that we all enjoy called BTSpop.
The iconic bridge part in dis-ease was written by jimin in just 3 to 4 minutes even the way he sung it in his heavenly voice with jungkook gives me chills. In this video at 6:13. And his voice at chorus really gives that push that makes us feel it.

And i asked her, what did she mean of kpop, then? And she described kpop song like efra's said, the typical pattern, the vocals, the rap, the dance. 😅 i wont said that she was wrong, coz yeah, u can still find that kind of 'common' formula/pattern in kpop song. But, bts is different. They has their own sound, their own music. Yes, the hybrid. Bts success to create such sound by combining different style of music into one, yet its enjoyable..

This was produced by hoseok, anything produced by hoseok litreally tops all the charts without any doubt. The bridge was written by jimin in 2-3 minutes. Also hope was live months before this and he was producing a song and was just talking, but the audio was so loud on his headphones that we could hear the song and it was this song lol. A staff had to come and tell him that we can actually hear the audio so lower the volume😂

I totally agree with what u said about the new Kpop styles. I hardly listen to these younger groups because all the music sounds the same. Hard hitting EDM/Hip Hop beat, with hard hitting rap parts then a poppy vocal pre chorus into a hard hitting chorus then repeat and the Pre Bridge is just Vocals and high notes followed by a EDM instrumental with choreo then Chants to finish the song. Very predictable stuff, not all songs follow this exact structure but most follow a similar structure.
I do agree with what you said about the way some kpop songs are formulated especially the 4th/end of 3rd gen, but at the same time It's usually only group's title tracks that follow that formula, if you listen to the bsides on the albums they aren't really like that and are a lot more congruent.
This album reminds me of the starting albums of BTS and it's so good lyrically and even I am not a fan of slow paced songs but there is something special here
