OmG! Bob looked and sounded emotional after watching the crowd give him the biggest standing ovation ever. It will be a very sad day when he leaves this life, but wow! What a ride he took and I feel we took it with him. Bob is so friggin’ awesome.
He has probably walked through those doors as many times as Johnny Carson has walked through the curtains on the Tonight Show, probably more! The Price Is Right just isn't the same without him! R.I.P., Johnny and Bob
Walks through doors, camera switched to Bob's back, Bob picks up mic from model, camera switched back to front of Bob, Bob bows, Bow says “Welcome to the price is right” same iconic routine at the start of each episode
When I see Bob come walking through the doors in the 1st 4 minutes of this is video, I end up with tears. It's awesome that he made a few appearances after retirement. One damn great legend
Imagine, if you will, on the April 1, 2015 episode, what would have happened had the announcer said instead, " . . . and now, here's your host: BOB BARKERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" The audience would have been disoriented for a second or two before they realize that's BOB BARKER HIMSELF walking out on stage. What I wouldn't give to have been in the studio audience that day to see Bob Barker hosting for the last time.
I’ve been to the price is right about 10 times from 1983 when Johnny Olson was announcing to 1993 when Rod Roddy was announcing. On one of the shows, I sat in the fourth row, and it was incredible watching Bob for the first time coming out of the doors, everyone gave them a standing ovation, I stood up with my arms crossed, and as Bob bowed he looked right at me and right after he said, welcome to the price is right, he addressed the camera and said I think you for that wonderful welcome, except for Young and Nelson. He pointed at me, and jokingly said, kick him out. What a treat that was I’ve seen tapings of other shows, but seeing Bob in person, it was a real treat
I love this intro brings back so many memories watching The Price is Right all through my childhood until Mr. Barker was last seen on the show in 2015 good job 👏🏾. I ESPECIALLY LOVED the wipe pattern they used between when Bob walked out, and the shot of the lights that comes down to show Bob and Janis for the mic hand over. I remember the star-wipe was used a lot. Ah the good ol days of good television!
Mr. Goodson was a brilliant Television Game Show Creator and Owner. He was both Elegant and well-spoken. A true Legend in Television Game Shows ans Showmanship.
As you watch these intros you see the gradual growth of this series from days of it being just another game show harkening back to the Bill Cullen days to being an iconic TV event and superstardom for Bob Barker as everyones favorite give away man .
Bob always made those super long, very thin microphones look like the coolest pieces of equipment I'd ever seen. Forget wireless mics, I want a 200-foot cable attached to that wand so I can act like Bob Barker.

The best hour and a half I've ever spent watching a RUclips video. I cried the whole time. This is my favorite game show of all times and my most favorite show to watch out of anything public free television has to offer. May the price is right live on for ever. I say to CBS to never cancel this show. You all have done wonders to cheer me up on my down days and made me laugh and smile and cry and cheer and just full of fun every time I turn to CBS to watch this show. Also, congratulations to all the contestant's whos been on the show and have won prizes and had their dreams come true. Wether you needed a stove, a car, a vacation, money, or just to get a laugh. And Mark Goodson and BOB BARKER, you will never know how many peoples lives you've changed over the years. Just the sheer chance to meet you and win something. But most of all, we've all won because you were always here for us and with us everyday of the work week. We love you, we miss you and we all hope that you are healthy and well. Television God's is what you both are. I raise my cup of coffee to both of you for being the best human beings on the planet. You earned every right and you've earnd our trust and hearts. R.I.P. Bob Barker you're probably telling everyone to "come on down" up in heaven. I actually remember watching The Price Is Right with my mother in her bedroom before going to elementary school even though I attended my aunt's day care this was before Drew Carey was even on The Price Is Right. At least we still have him since I watched him during his TV show days.
TPIR TRIVIA: At least eight of the shows in this montage were attended by Randy McLaughlin (1955-2013) and Jerry Skeels (1937-2007) who were the co-founders of Jeran Designs. Several formal gowns by Jeran were often worn by the models on the show and/or given away as prizes for several years. If you look closely, you'll spot McLaughlin (the brunette) and Skeels (the blonde) by pausing at 23:45, 29:46, 36:31, 43:19, 48:47, 53:35, 55:25 and 1:02:14.
After all these years, Bob Barker and Rod Roddy finally are reunited. I bet he was at the gates to Heaven, telling Bob "Come on down." There will never be another one like Bob, ever.

Also, Kathleen Bradley was the show's first black model. Host? I'm not so sure about that. It depends on how much longer Drew Carey will continue the hostship.
