Best walk around video on this that I’ve seen. Thanks! I have a 14 Pro4x and have been considering starting the mods for fishing, hunting and camping. You’re video was very helpful. Thanks again!
Very nice setup, functional and not flashy. I'm looking to get one of these, I like the shorter wheelbase vs a wrangler, and the interior looks roomier.
Love the green on green. Very nice location for the video. Beautiful shot. We have the obnoxious yellow but we love it's uniqueness. The green is definitely my second favorite color X. Awesome! We want to get an old man emu kit also because we have emus.
Too bad the xterra was discontinued. I think it’s the ultimate go to truck for camping and over landing. Very versatile and tons of mods available. I’d buy one myself, but their so hard to find now.
Great looking Xterra! You don't see that green everyday on them. Just curious, do you think the XL version of the tent would look awkwardly big on top of the Xterra? We're a family of 4 so kinda need get a big one so I'm on the fence between Xterra or a frontier. Thanks 👍
The XL would be a larger profile on the roofline, however if you plan on removing the tent between trips it will be fine. I leave my tent on all year because I use it for hunting season, along with camping in spring, summer, and fall.
@@Qbynordi Ya I'd be leaving it on as I have a seperate work vehicle, my wife has her own vehicle so it would be dedicated just for camping. So I guess it would look awkward but still kinda work? Lol
What are the parts you used for the rooftop tent mounts? What width and length of bolt? I really liked your idea of using an exhaust clamp for the rooftop tent mount. I am getting a tent for my car soon, and am prepping to mount.
I'm unsure of the exact bolt measurements, and it will vary depending on your exact tent and roofrack. I just mocked up the exhaust clamp bracket to the tent on the vehicle and estimated the length needed for bolts then went to a hardware store and got 8 bolts and nuts (nylock). It's very secure on the rack in offroad situations.
Awesome video. I hadn't heard of Alpicool or AFE, so thank you!! Can you please give us your assessment of the OME suspension over stock? It seems to be the logical choice, but there is a lot out there. Any reason why you went with OME specifically that you could share? Thanks again!
OME is more of an upgrade on the spring quality and load carrying capacity with a slightly upgraded shock. The lift height is enough to clear 33s completely but it still retains mostly stock suspension components and won't cause UCA contact.
Go with Yokohama Geolandar tires. Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs are junk. I had a brand new set of Duratracs Load Range E, and a metal vape pen went through a sidewall like it was made of paper. They have weak sidewalls, even on the Load Range E tires. Goodyear totally blew me off. Replaced them with Yokohamas and they have been fantastic.
There's a thread on thenewx.org that outlines the process. It basically involves running some jumper wires in the differential control module under the dash. There's a good diagram in the thread.
There is a write up online if you search for 'Xterra locker anytime mod' that gives a step by step. It entails modifying the differential lock control module under the driver's side dash.
The WAM winch mount required a little cutting of the stock bumper. The X20 10k was a tight fit and I suspect a smaller winch would fit with ease. I have not noticed any cooling issues even when offroad on hot days in 4lo.
Nice rig, thanks for the vid. Question: Your tent, I heard the stock roof bars supports only 150 lbs? Any issues with the tent and the way it is mounted overall?
Thanks for watching! I have been wheeling many times with tent attached to the stock rack and neither has ever budged. I mounted the tent with the front edge of the forward mounting rail up against the roof basket (basically slid as far forward as I could get it). This seems to be the easiest on the roof rack and distributes the weight the best, and it also shifts the tent weight forward for less sag on the rear springs.
I have the same mods on my 06' off road 6spd. The rear bumper would be nice to raise the departure angle some. That rear hitch, trailer plug in, and spare are sometimes too low. The pinch in the exhaust right before the muffler is another thing I'd like to change. I hear the intake mani spacer is really good for these as well. Nice rig!
I like how clean your xterra is.
"Everything you need, nothing you don't" -XTerra
Brake upgrade is a great idea!!

I love that color! I don't think I've ever seen a green Xterra. I have a 2015 Pro 4x in black.
Awesome.. so happy to be an xterra owner.
I adore the color. I have a 05 Ford Escape Hybrid. Xterras are awesome!! My dream vehicle.
Very nice setup, functional and not flashy. I'm looking to get one of these, I like the shorter wheelbase vs a wrangler, and the interior looks roomier.
I have the same year and color Xterra Love it
Also, need to do the axle vent mod especially the m226 axles. They are bad about clogging up and blowing wheel seals.
I have a Jeep TJ and a 2011 Xterra Pro-4X. Both awesome vehicles!
I've had 2 XJ's a YJ and a TJ..love them all!
TJ is the True Jeep! 👍 and I love my XTerra too

Nice X! Love how you've made it fit your needs. Lots of great ideas.
Plain and simple. Like it.
I really like the green color.
You’re living my dream man
Great color Xterra!
So sick. You nailed it man. I've been considering getting an X and this video was helpful. Thanks!
Great video. I love that rear rack idea. I paid alot to have an aluminum one made.
beautiful build. it's perfect
Nice X. Great
Thanks for bringing us yet another vibe 🥂 enjoyed
Nice video! I have the WAM hidden bumper too and love it. Also, always loved the green color, :D.
Awesome rig. Very well done.
Hey man !! I live in the Finger Lakes Region we should meet up and camp sometime in ADK I got an Xterra as well
Too bad the xterra was discontinued. I think it’s the ultimate go to truck for camping and over landing. Very versatile and tons of mods available. I’d buy one myself, but their so hard to find now.
The new Frontier platform would be an excellent start to a new Xterra.
Amazing set-up. Could you share the tent details please? I like how you fixed with the exhaust clamp and channels
Which model is it specifically?
This is the Smittybilt Overlander Tent with Annex.

@@bearlycamping It will work just fine, just look big. It will have a nice overhang for rain and sun protection though.

I know you said OME. But what lift kit is this. Prefect stance
It's the Old Man Emu (OME for short) full kit with heavy springs in the front to accommodate for the winch weight and medium springs in the rear.

Toyos are great too... and made in USA
Any guidance on how you transformed the rear locker to on demand. I’m loving you’re idea on a rear locker you can turn on at any time. Nice truck!

AdkAdventureX thank you much. I’ll go to the forum. Thanks again.
What was the size of your tires again?? Wondering if that fits my 2005 pathfinder ?

How did you mount that winch on your rig? I need one badly!
It's a WAM winch mount. The X20 10k winch was a bit tight, but it works great.
They dont make load range c, for that tire size.
How did you do this mode for the locker all the time ?thanks
There is a write up online if you search for 'Xterra locker anytime mod' that gives a step by step. It entails modifying the differential lock control module under the driver's side dash.
How hard is it to put that winch on a stock bumper?

What are you using to mount your license plate over the fairlead?
Mine is a Tuffy license plate bracket for hawse fairleads.
Dude how do I get to lock it not in four low ...for the love of God please tell me
Google 'Nissan Xterra locker anytime mod'. It was fairly easy but not a lot of room to work under the dash.

do you have a cb radio
I do not. I usually use a hand held GMRS that doubles as a hunting radio.
