Just bought my Xterra a couple days ago, I had no idea the bottom seats came out! This has me excited for the possibilities, I've never had a vehicle like this before.
Hi Bry. Welcome to the X club. It is a very capable vehicle and very modular. I plan on doing some new work on mine, and I hope to see you back in the future. Let me know if you have any questions in the future. Thanks for watching. Be well, my friend.
I just bought my 2007 Xterra about 4 months ago, not much more than a rolling parts car. But i picked it up cheap, and i know what it can be, because i had an Xterra many years ago, so each month i get something fixed on it. Im going to try car camping, and since this is also my daily driver, it has to be no-build simple; you, my friend, have given me some great ideas. Maybe one day you'll get to see my pony on RUclips! Take care!
Hi Jessies. I am so stoked to hear that. The X has so many things you can do to make it kick-ass. I would love to see it. Once you get it ready, let me know. I will be doing a full update soon. I am always looking for new ideas. Thanks for watching. Be well, my friend.
I'm 6'1 and I've stretched out in my '05 after taking the benches out and tossing some pillows in the gap. I don't think I'll ever get rid of this truck. As the 5th owner of what others have given up on, I will keep this thing alive. I prefer my explosions to be on the inside of my engine, not the entire electric car itself. Long live the utility vehicle!
Hello, tvs. Thanks for watching. If you are on the hunt, try to find a model with a rear locker. That is my next project, and it is turning out to be a pain. Be well, my friend.
Hello, Parts. It is the best camp accessory I have ever purchased. They are about $20 bucks, and I wish I had bought on 20 years ago. On a side note, they will also keep young kids occupied for hours. Thanks for watching. Be well, my friend.
I have an '08. I never thought of putting the bench seat there! Of course! I have a great firm foam mattress that fits with the wider seat gone. I'm short, so I can stretch out. I'm here to learn how to do the rest. Thank You!
Just bought a 2010 Xterra - one of the reasons was the flat fold-down seats so I can sleep in the back. Being able to remove the cushions is bonus. How do you secure the food bin so it doesn't slide off while you're driving? I see all those hooks and wonder how best to use them.
Hi Sue, congratulations on your X. I use a bunch of different types of fasteners. My favorite is an old Subaru rear-gate cargo net I have had for years. I can attach it to other heavier gear or the running board tie-downs. I will make a video about this in the near future. Thanks for watching. Be well, my friend.
Looking good. Quick and easy👍. I have a minimal Build Suburban that I do have a couple RUclips videos of camping in it but really need to make a tour video of the Suburban. Thanks for sharing
Hello SQWIB. Thanks for the support. You definitely should make a video. It would be awesome to see. If you want to see some other cool builds, check out SUV RVing channel. He has some cool stuff. Be well, my friend.
Hi Mtn. I have been thinking about the same thing. I will be dropping some money into mechanical stuff first and then move to a better Interior setup. Go, team Xterra. Be well, my friend.
Hello Willard. Thanks for the comment and for watching. Check out my stealthing my Xterra video. I go into more detail on how I made them. Let me know if you have any questions. Be well, my friend.
Hello Hood. Say what up to the merry men for me. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Thanks for watching and being part of the community. I love my X, and all my Toyota friends are jealous every time we go car camping. Be well, my friend.
I dont know if your X has this feature. Mine is a 2006. The front passenger seat folds flat. There is a handle on the right corner near the headrest. I like how you did this no build. I am working on making mine a camper. I thought I could gat away with not removing the seat to sleep. I am 5"4" and it is a squeeze unless I remove that. FYI, I hear Jackery is overrated. Prepper princess has alot of videos on generators as well as Reewray outdoors.
Hi Rick. First off, thanks for watching. I am 98% saying yes. If you have the seat all the way forward and fill the gap. You can also sleep driver's side and remove the first aid kit in the rear hatch and that would definitely work. Be well, my friend.
Hello Cooper. I answered this question In my Xterra update video. It is the Yakima LoadWarrior. Here is a link to for Amazon. Yakima LoadWarrior a.co/d/114bnmE Thanks for watching. Be well, my friend.
Hello Richard, thanks for watching. It is the 8-gallon bin. It is almost a perfect fit. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Be well, my friend.
Hello Ozzy. The two behind my seats at 8-gallon action packers. The thing in the middle behind my center console is a jump box for my battery. Thanks for watching. Let me know if you have any further questions. Be well, my friend.
Hello Crissgen, yes, you will fit. It is 6 feet 7 inches long with the seat all the way forward. You will just need to stuff some items if you use the 8-gallon action packer. It is a little short. I love my X, and it gives you a lot to work with. Check out some videos on Titan swapping. Thanks for watching. Be well, my friend.
What year nissan xterra is this? So after you removed the seats and that bench thing on the end, how tall was it so you can sleep. Is it really tall for someone with height to sleep with no bending their knees?
Hello Haters. Thanks for watching. It is a 2011 SE model. I have a follow-up video, and I believe it is tall enough for someone that is 6 foot 5. You will just need to fill the 2-inch void if you are using the same action packer system. Be well, my friend.
@@campshackproductions3725 oh wow 6 ft 5 is great with no knee bending I'm 6 ft 2 and most suvs I think would require diagonal sleeping. I really wanted xterra for this purpose but the 04 to 08 I think models had huge transmission blow out issue
@@hatersgotohell627 If you are talking about the strawberry milkshake, you are correct. However, I think that issue goes up to 2012, but I may be wrong. That has happened once before, LOL. I have seen a few videos on how to fix or bypass the issue. If you are looking, try to find a 4x4 offroad version with a locking rear differential. Let me know if you have any further questions or if you pick one up. Be well, my friend.
Hi Owen. I made them. I cover this a bunch in my Stealthing out my Xterra if you want to check it out. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any more questions. Be well, my friend.
Hello Tim, sorry for the slow response. Dimitry is correct. It is an 8-gallon Rubbermaid action packer. You can get them on Amazon or most big box stores. The locking handles are the goods. Thanks for watching. Be well, my friend.
Hi Butch. I want you to know that because of this comment, I have planned a whole video on this subject. I live in Utah, so it probably won't rain again until monsoon season, but I will make this rain or shine. Probably shine. Keep an easy out, and thanks for watching. Be well, my friend.
Turn off the background music. It is beyond me why RUclips content creators think playing background music over their voice is somehow enhancing their videos, it is not, it is distracting. We came to hear you, not to fight background music which quickly becomes extremely annoying and intrusive. Many folks have hearing difficulties, thus while concentrating on your voice they must also concentrate on tuning out the music; frustrating. Your background music ruins an otherwise exceptionally good presentation.

What is the roof basket? i like that
i use my Xterra almost the same way! but i have built a cabinet that goes on the driver side and just helps hold all the stuff in place.

I have the same water sprayer and several of those action packers black/gray with red tote handles and the same color xterra..cept it's a 2012

What brand are those locking bins?
Why put the coolers on the left? You can balance the weight between you and the coolers by placing them on the right instead.
Can a 6'2" guy lay flat, full length with head flat on a pillow?... bridging any gaps of course
