Trust me I think nissan would love to build another xterra but they don't have the cash anymore to develop a new xterra. They struggling just to keep going. I have an 08 xterra x with manual and approaching 210k. Did the stock clutch at 200k. I would drive it to Argentina tomorrow with great confidence. It’s never left me hanging anywhere we’ve gone and the 4.0l is far more powerful than any Toyota. Plus its footprint is better in my opinion
I had a 2001 and now a 2015. Taken them off roading down many many beaten up old logging roads. I really hope they bring it back in time for my next truck. Love these trucks.
Sweet X! And way to shoutout to All Dogs. They are getting a lot of (well-earned) love from the Nissan Truck community. Still can't believe I traded in my beloved 2015 Pro-4x 6-speed in 2020. The 2nd gen Titan just wasn't as reliable for me.
I LOVE how you did the bumpers. I’ve been doing something similar on my vehicles for years. If the black plastic can come off, it can always be coated at home easily, for cheap.
Very cool. I love seeing guys do budget builds and have just as much fun as the guys that buy new $80k jeeps every two years. We need both to see what works and what doesn't.

The second gen Xterra is an absolute gem. That motor and a manual(AT seemed to be fine after 2010) are a perfect match IMO. If they had changed the interior colors away from that god awful grey, and given it decent looking wheels(PRO4X non withstanding) and added the ability to manually shift the automatic , they would have sold alot more. That’s so awesome! I just bought an xterra this year and have been upgrading it to be able to do the same thing you are. I’m so glad I found this video.
Beware of radiator flaw. I had an Xterra and loved it - it died on me at about 250k miles, which is still a decent run, so no complaints. But, what did it in is apparently a fairly common problem with these 4.0 engines when they hit higher mileage - but it’s totally fixable if you proactively address. The flaw is that the transmission fluid in the radiator can be prone to mixing with your coolant over time - there are blogs and videos on this of you search for it. Get this problem area fixed and I’m sure your Xterra can go many many more miles. Cheers!
Got an xterra myself and it's my favorite vehicle as it takes me everywhere I want to go, in the deserts, mountains, and everywhere else including work. Thanks for the fine story.
Hey I knew you )) following you on Instagram too and seen how your build been evolving and when you cut the roof ! nice job truck is looking amazing ! My Xterra is finally finally starting to look like a good off roader overlander too but it still will take time so nice to see more Xterras

Nissan is really dropping the ball by not making the Xterra anymore, especially having the new Frontier model.
