    This reporter is better than any well known reporter on national TV or Radio News nowadays, asked good questions.
    Air traffic control at Heathrow must be tricky when the airport is operating at 98% capacity on 2 runways, that was prior to Covid-19 pandemic of course.
    Impressive work and they are incredibly calm…

      In the UK it was used by a television series documenting the day to day life of employees as EasyJet, since then it's become the unofficial theme tune for anything aviation-related in the UK.

      Atlanta Georgia (where I live) gets 2700, busiest airport in the world tho

    • @jakehowie442
      @jakehowie442 2 года назад +1

      Well Atlanta is mostly a domestic short haul airport…so yes it’s a lot busier than Heathrow, but Heathrow has larger long haul aircraft taking off and landing.
      Also Atlanta Airport has a bigger surface area and 5 or 6 runways, compared to Heathrow’s 2.

    My ex-in England used to teach airline traffic controllers/travel guides/travel agents/ businessmen to speak BETTER/CORRECT English. They were all nice people. One at a time would come to our house on a Sunday night, then leave the following Sunday AM. He taught for years until Covid ruined it.

    Kudos to all the controllers, pilots and everyone else that works at these large international airports!! Is it true that Heathrow only has two runways? I heard rumors that they are planning on building a third one. Thanks for the incredible upload!!

    • @jakehowie442
      @jakehowie442 2 года назад +1

      Yes it’s true and Heathrow 3rd runway has been in the plans for a while, but environmentalists and local residents have objected it for a while. Heathrow is surrounded by towns and villages in West London.
      It is actually a pretty bad place to locate a big international airport.

    This thing is a complete eyesore compared to our lovely old brick tower. It makes Heathrow a laughing stock amongst travellers as it was only supposed to be 'temporary' until a new concrete or brick tower was built. But it seesm they forgot to knock it down! IT IS AWFUL! It sways in high wind making people vomit , I know Ive been up it, well dodgy! ATC do a great job they deserve a PROPER control tower that doesnt look like some something from Anne Summers!

      ist always english and the native langauge that are Aviation languages in a certain country. In Germany, as a VFR Pilot you can get a Radio-licence that is valid only for german atc. However I got my ATC Radio licence in english. It is in France very common, that ATC between French natives is in French language, even at international Airports. Same in South America with spanish...

      is it? when you have a bad day as a donuts seller you can't kill 250 people but as an air traffic controller you well might accomplish that. That's a high risk job, similar to OTHER jobs but not similar to ALL jobs out there

      You have little respect for humanity if you think ATC job is just like others. I agree with this other poster, if you sell donuts and make a mistake, you ruin a dozen or even six dozen donuts. If you're ATC and make a mistake, the results are immeasurable for generations to come.

      I respect all jobs but atc jobs are dealing with a million lives per day around that and billions of lives with a year or so.one mistake and you can expect to lose an avererage of 200 plus people depending on aircraft and not to think thousands more below them in the towns and cities or other fellow craft in the air so yes point is atc jobs are far more harder than your average jobs.its an office job with lives at great stake and on top of that they have to be calm the whole damn time.school is bad and hard with studieswhen it comes to concentration for long periods but atc have it way way a million times worse than school or university students on the focus and concentation department.so yes other jobs are not for sissies but atc deserve that title.imagine one small mistake and you imprissoned or executed or labeld as a murderer for life from one tiny mistake which may destroy your life so yeah atc job is not an average job at all its like being at war but not at war
