Hi David, loved the first episode. That is a prong off of a piece of tractor equipment, my friend. Probably off of a silager. It acts as a sort of wracking tool. But a great first find! ❤

I too have recently turned 50 and have all of a sudden this massive urge to go metal detecting. Not reached the flat cap stage yet but I'm sure that will come as soon as I buy a detector. Sod wearing that jumper tho. Great vid as always.
Great video, such a great, relaxing, therapeutic hobby. Don’t give up, it takes a while to get into it, but the more you learn, the more you’ll enjoy it. It’s just finding the right bit of land.
Hi David, loving your work. I started detecting with the same machine a couple of years ago...great first detector. A few tips; get that wire tighter, use the pinpoint mode of the detector before digging - if the strong signal is over a long area, I wouldn't bother digging it (probably a nail or screw). Also, if the signal is jumping all over the place, I would also avoid. Keep your energy for the strong, consistant signals.
Your adventure was a like a metaphor for something. Britain, life, the ageing process. At least you got to meet Darth Vader's horse, the one he famously rode in that battle scene.
This is brilliant! I can totally relate as I too have just started detecting, I'm lucky enough to of had someone to show me what to do. I see you already know you had the carrot the wrong way around 🤣, it also has 3 sensitivity settings, I've found that the middle setting 2 works best for me. Sometimes on the highest sensitivity it goes off when its near anything even if its not metal, also the 3 beeps are just to remind you that its on.
David, this is the best thing I’ve seen since I started this hobby 😂 pls do not hesitate to ask if you need a hand, happy to help - can’t say I know how to work trotters 3-wheeler but I know my way around a carrot. And a beep. Courage! Keep your pecker up! Cannot wait for the next ep. 😀
I'd have probably smashed the roadrunner beep beep detector thing after digging like a rabid dog every time it went off. Great stuff. Your music choices really add to the whole vibe. Has anyone invented an integrated metal detector into a lawnmower? I think i'm now "hooked". Thanks

Your detector is making those false beeps because its picking up the wire from the coil. Wrap it around the stem of the detector.😊
