GET THE E-BOOK HERE: trickphotographybook.com/ This photography video tutorial will show you how to burn and spin steel wool to create super cool long exposure photos of sparks.
And for the love of god, DO NOT wear any polyester clothing if you're going to do this... Unless, of course, you want the picture to also have sparks & flames in the shape of a human!
Mate.... I have no idea why you are sharing all your trade secrets with us, but as someone who has been on a photography hiatus for a good few years, I have to THANK YOU. My creative juices are now a flowing.
I absolutely love your tutorials and your ebook makes me feel like I am cheating on photography but I will be having fun burning steel wool and photoshopping my pictures. Thanks for this channel!
I've used commercial dollar store sparklers, bent the metal handle with pliers, used string as the tether, and it worked well. A lot less chance of starting fires, too. Great ideas and enthusiasm in your videos!
Just wanted to say thanks for a very excellent tutorial. We have an abandoned arched stone tunnel a short drive away that I plan to do some shots in with the steel wool - your tutorial was perfect in every way with the tips and techniques. I'll likely go with two whisks (one on each end of the cable) to get a double spin effect. Appreciate the tut!
Watched a bunch of your vids, great stuff man, its great that there are people like you out there giving away this info for others, i do mainly sports photography and I've picked up a few things here, love the wool shots!
Been doing fireworks and sparklers for nearly 40 years and this is some really cool stuff!! Knew since I was kid that steel wool burns, but never thought of doing this. Very impressive - Very soon the sparks will fly at my place and there'll be a hot time in the old town tonite!
It has been raining here for 4 days, not a very enjoyable 4rth of July weekend so we took advantage of a break in the weather to get in some steel wool shots with my husband doing the spinning. They turned out amazing, thanks for the tutorial on how to do this. Was a blast and all safety precautions were taken. It was way to wet for decent fireworks shots so thanks for the option on some great shots.

i found out it looks really cool when you set the camera on shore and do the steel wool on a low dock over a calm lake...it gives it a really cool reflection over the water.
And for the love of god, DO NOT wear any polyester clothing if you're going to do this... Unless, of course, you want the picture to also have sparks & flames in the shape of a human!
