      My 11 months old daughter has just been prescribed completely hydrolysed milk and she doesn't like it. How can i make her accept it :)

    • @AskDoctorAmy
      @AskDoctorAmy  3 года назад +1

      @@sunShine-lo4xg the taste can definitely be tricky! You can transition her slowly with just a third of the bottle being the new milk, and gradually increasing that ratio over a few days.

    Thank you so much for this. My baby’s pediatrician did mention the cow’s milk allergy but never really explained it to me and my husband. So having you explained it so well here is huge help. Thank you so much

    How about using goat milk based formula? I have read that it has a lower ratio of casein like that of breast milk. Such as Kendamil goat milk. My daughter won't take the nutramigen because of the taste and smell. She is breastfed. I am thinking of using goat milk instead.

    Thank you for this video! I have been struggling with the idea of giving up dairy now so when the twins are born, I can pump and hopefully avoid a reaction in the very beginning!

    I hope I'd known it earlier that the milk that I consumed affect my milk too since my baby diagnosed with cow's milk intolerance
    She's 8 months old still breastfeeding and I have milk stash too ( what I will do with those 😂) Is seems too late for me but start tomorrow I will remove those product in my diet
    Thanks for this information Dr
    It is very helpful

    I'm on my 3rd kid and all of them had CMPA. However, with my 3rd baby, We are also dealing with a soy allergy which has made breast feeding incredibly challenging. We switched to alimentum (my firstborn did well on it), but the mucus in his poop was not subsiding. We eventually switched to puramino and cut out breast milk entirely despite being pretty confident that my milk was dairy and soy free. It's been over 1 week on the puramino strictly, but there's still mucus in the poop. I worry that using and amino acid bases formula would affect baby's chances of overcoming the CMPA. My eldest is 7 years old now and still allergic to dairy, although he can tolerate in certain forms to an extent (I.e. cooked yogurt). He was strictly formula fed with alimentum at 6 weeks. With my second, I was able to nurse him by maintaining a dairy free diet. He got over the allergy by age 1. I wonder if hypoallergenic formula affects chances of overcoming the allergy.

    What about for a baby with CmA and soy allergy ? My poor baby is struggling with gas, stomach pains, fussiness.

    • @AskDoctorAmy
      @AskDoctorAmy  Год назад +1

      Yes, cow's milk protein symptoms often have a cross-reaction with soy, meaning a baby who is sensitive to one is likely to be sensitive to the other.

    My baby is on Similac Alimentum and has been for a little over 2 months now. It seemed like her symptoms were improving (fussiness,gas, colic-like symptoms) but in the past few weeks I feel like we are back at square one. She has trouble passing gas, has acid reflux/spits up excessively after every feeding despite different at home remedies, grunts and squirms around a lot which is disrupting her sleep and also her stools have become less frequent. Her doctor doesn’t seem to think much of it since she is gaining weight but I know my baby is in discomfort. Do you have any suggestions?

    My baby does best without dairy in my diet. Seen this clearly when I cut it out. Hard cheeses don't have such a heavy effect. I ate cream cheese recently and all symptoms came back after a few nursing sessions.
    Either way-breast is best and we will get through this together.

    Always boil cows milk first and let it cool before giving it to baby. Colic is the first sign of cow milk allergy. All formula milk is cows milk. Try diluted milk if you think it's allergy. Alternatively try goats milk as protein is more digestible. Consult a doctor if colic is persistent as it may be problems with breathing and sucking at the same time or sinus problems. People have sinus problems for various reasons
    Dill or mint water helps with colic even for adults. Breast milk is ideal for human babies.

    Cows milk is god or formula milk?

  • @denisefino180

    Hello dr. and thank you for making this video. My 11 month old has a cows milk allergy. Therefore we decided to breastfeed. Until about 2 weeks ago my milk production has decreased drastically. There have been many changes in the family including my nocturnal job. At this time breastfeeding has become very stressful and I am desperately seeking a solution. In the Earlier months 2-6 we introduce an European formula. However the eczema was still pretty bad. Her dr doesn’t seem understand to how stressful it has become? We also tried goats milk and she hated it.

      At this point in time I am so desperate for a solution. I am mentally and physically exhausted due to work and just being. Mommy of two under 2. Please. Any suggestions?
      She’s eating 3 solid meals a day with on demand latching but I’m only producing about 1-2 ox every 5 hours
