I've owned a 16-plate Evoque for 4 years now it had 84’000 on the clock with one owner ( pharmaceutical company ) we have now covered over 120’000 and loved every minute of it, I've changed the oil every 6000 and service every year and touch wood I've not had a single problem. It is the longest I've ever owned any car but I'm itching to move to an RR Sport and have watched your videos with great interest, I do love RR as a product so very soon my next lump on my drive will either be a Sport or maybe a Velar, love the colour combination that you have so will be looking at that or Grey/Cream

3:03 the beeping is the boot kick to open sensor detecting something. Out of the 7ish years of owning 494s and 405s, I finally setup a camera overnight to capture what was happening..it was some smaller sized animal like a raccoon or my dog crawling underneath of the truck activating that sensor. But when the truck is locked, it just beeps

@@GregandCraigsGarage I just re-read my comment and it was so poorly written haha
I meant that animals were running underneath of the truck where the kick to open sensor is. Wave your foot underneath the rear bumper, and the boot opens. In my case, animals were running underneath and activating that sensor, but when the truck is locked - it just beeps.
So yeah, animals aren't just crawling around the interior of my rangie..just underneath of it Lol!

Great video, interesting to hear your take on ownership, I’ve owned various LR vehicles for the past 30years plus and currently own a 2008 RRS TDV8 3.6 for the past 10 years. Often thought about upgrading to the current shape RRS . Firstly I agree with you on having the SDV8 4.4 as it seems to be the best engine in the range, not sure how the ride quality would suffer on those large rims 22inch 🤔 mine sits on 20s and even that can be a little crashy over bumps . Yes I agree JLR have been the victim of some very bad press and it most definitely is a case of rolling the dice on any car purchase these days in fact I’d suggest moving away entirely from diesel engines because of DPF and adblue technology. However I personally couldn’t afford to run a 5litre v8 petrol in RRS . Personally I’m keeping the old Sport I have

I have a FF AB with the SDV8 and bought the landrover warranty for peace of mind. Its my first Rangerover and find they are fantastic things to drive. Yes they cost more to run than a normal car, but it's not a normal car. Alot of the problems arise when people can afford to buy them but can't afford to run them.
Just because you can pick them up for the price of an Astra doesn't mean you can run it like one.

Test drove two of these during the last week, and I'm not as impressed with them as I thought I would be.
Based on the reviews I've seen I was expecting a seriously refined machine, well its not.
The good points are the ride quality, engine refinement, and space.
The bad, are tyre noise on coarse texture surfaces, which is just about acceptable, but the worst is wind rush over the whole car at motorway speeds.
It's considerably louder than my BMW 520d G30 which is to be expected, given the size difference.
The doors sound very rattly as well when you close them.
I really wanted to buy one but the refinement levels just were'nt up to expectations, and that wind noise would become very tiring on a long trip.

Thank you so much for this video, I went with Autoguard for my 2017 4.4 autobiography, I wasn’t sure at first although I’ve only had to claim for a faulty front parking camera but so far so good! The updated entertainment system is great but is kinda slow compared with my Audi’s and BMW’s from the past however I can overlook that as the car is fantastic, it can do anything you want it to do and more plus your absolutely right it doesn’t matter if it’s a 30 mile drive or a 1500 mile drive I always get out feeling fresh and relaxed! I think the proportions of the sport are spot on for rural uk roads my 7 series is just a tad too big (wide and long) sometimes however that wouldn’t stop me buying another or even a vogue :)

I got the exact same model, mines a 2014 with similar mileage, bit less, but the AB spec, and with 22” black rims with tinted windows. The Meridian sound is well worth having, and the Parking Assist is a bit gimmicky. Got mine from a main dealer Marshall Land Rover, Newbury with their own extended warranty and it’s paid for itself by several £1000 already. Have to say the dealer has looked after me very well. Bought mine when demand was strong before ULEZ, theft and insurance issue, but as I intend to keep it for a few more years, who cares? I don’t. Would also recommend Marshall’s Service Plan which is another monthly outgoing, but well worth it in my experience. Did a round trip from Hampshire to Milton Keynes today, and agree it’s a lovely place to be, especially with a well stocked fridge compartment! Saw that you were on the A346 Marlborough/Devizes road which isn’t a million miles away from me and handy for Salisbury Plain, not that I’m brave enough to risk damaging mine. Spend too much time keeping it looking nice! Ha ha

    • @GregandCraigsGarage
      @GregandCraigsGarage  4 месяца назад +1

Ah the autobiography is a lovely spec! The warranty usually does pay for itself on these to be honest 😂
Nice to do the service plan if you want to keep main dealer history so it’s not a bulk of money in one go! I’m happy to keep mine independent with oe parts and specialist for the more intricate stuff but that’s just preference. Doesn’t matter if you’re going to keep it, no one could of predicted the market falling out, still a lot of car for the money and that being the case I’d run it into the ground. I’m not far from Newbury and that is indeed the road I was on. I won’t be taking mine up the plains either! 😁 thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Good vid, I’ve owned a few l322 and only had one that had an issue and that was down to the gearbox not being serviced by the previous owner. Personally the only warranty I’ve had is dealers initial warranty. I’ve always use specialists over main dealers cheaper and there way better at there job. I’m currently Range Rover less, and hopefully I’ll be looking to buy a 2016-2017 l405 RR SDV8 autobiography in a few weeks time for personal and for my business use. Which I’ve been missing due I go out to customers on farms and remote areas.
Thing I’ve found with LR products I’ve owned there no less reliable to an any German cars I’ve had. Also there is very little other equal comparison maybe x5 or q7 but not as capable for my use case but am equally considering them depending on if the insurance massively increases again. Alongside you service and don’t skimp out on mantanace. Buy a fully serviced 1 or 2 owners and I’ll be looking at 60-80k miles. But I’ll be looking to own it for 5-10yrs and I don’t do alot of mileage these days bar holidays.
