LOVE AB~ - Видеоклипы
Vince wrote the first verse of this song when his friend and fellow country singer, Keith Whitley, died. Then he wrote the second verse when his brother died. He is one of the very top country singers, song writers, and guitar pickers. His duet with Reba McIntyre of "The Heart Don't Lie" is my other favorite. I love the respect you show for country artists and their music. Great job!
He wrote it for his brother
@@christophervincent8420 First verse is a tribute to Keith Whitley. Look at Keith's list of songs.
@@spectrelead he wrote that song for his Brother. Vince said it himself. I was in a song writer group. He literally said it to us. Just stop

Thank u for the recommendations and the info. I have never listened to Vince Gill b4. I plan to remedy this the rest of this day. Beautiful.
“When I Call Your Name” by Vince has one of the best vocals in country history.
100% agree
That is my favorite song of his!
Love that song Vince can make you cry for sure though
Every song he made was awesome
Absolutely!
Ricky Skaggs and Patty Loveless are the two singing with him and they are also phenomenal
Truth! Ricky Skaggs is a phenomenal musician. Patty Loveless is too often overlooked. She’s very talented
Agreed with both comments. Phenomenal is exactly the right sentiment 😊
Oh yeah. That harmony is unmatched!
@@ddwm_mua that harmony is unmatched. I've yet to hear another rendition of this song that brings me to tears the same way. 🙌🙏
Top notch all on their own, but sweet harmonies all together. And? Vince Gill gives back to all the newcomers in Nashville. He's truly one of my favorites
This was played at my brothers funeral August 2023 - still brings me to tears 🥺😢😭
It was played at my son's funeral..
He was the love of my life.. I'm brought to tears every time I hear this..
Vince gill has one of those sweet, silky, humble voices. But when you combine Ricky Scaggs and Patty Loveless, a beautiful bluegrass trifecta is created. ❤
Vince Gill wrote this song in memory of his brother who passed away.
...he wrote it when Keith Whitley passed. He, Keith and Ricky Scaggs were all in the same group when they all started out as teenagers.
The vocal harmonies are gut wrenching. They are beautiful and melancholy at the same time. Very bittersweet.
Vince Gill has the voice of an Angel! This song always brings on the tears.
Vince is humble. When singing with Carrie he just laid back and his simple, perfect harmony made her better. He makes everyone better.
Vince is Country Music Hall of Fame. Period. He is one of the single greatest country singer/songwriters ever. He has 22 Grammy Awards.
AMEN ❤
Vince is one of my favorite voices ever. Pierces through to the heart & soul. THIS is also one of the most beautiful songs ever written!
He’s a country legend! One of the best male vocalists EVER!
He IS one of the best of all time! He IS He is clear, crisp, and fire!!! So glad you like him 🤠
That song is his.
He sang this with Patty Loveless at George Jones funeral, and that will make you cry
Vince Gill’s voice is straight BUTTER!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ So glad I grew up on him & all the greats!!!
I've dedicated this song to my son in law, who recently passed at the age of 33. This song brings me to tears every time. I loved him so much.
A good live version of this was from George Jones' funeral.
Other songs of his to react to should include "It's Your Call" with Reba, and "One More Last Chance".
Also, the 'background' singers on this song are both Legends in their own rights, Mr Ricky Skaggs and Ms Patty Lovelace.
WARNING: That performance will absolutely break you. The emotion is beyond powerful.
It was a beautiful performance but he was so upset because he truly loved George, he couldn’t even hardly sing. Patty carried him and I loved how he played when he was too choked up. Powerful but not his best vocal show off.
Yes: OMG I cried a long with him
@@amandarivard2160 I did too.. heartbreaking
My favorite version 😍
Love to see people giving Vince Gill his due. Yes, he has one of the sweetest, clearest, beautiful voices; not just in country music, but in any genre.
Vince Gill and his wife Amy Grant are heavily involved with Habitat for Humanity. He performed a concert in my hometown of Wichita Falls, Texas years ago and after the performance found out the the concert was organized as a fundraiser for this organization. He then refused any form of payment and insisted it all go to Habitat for Humanity. He and his wife Amy then invested heavily in this city for more homes in one areaof the city and the city officials named a street where these home are at as "Grant Gill Lane".
When I Call Your Name, will blow them headphones right off your head!
A few thoughts. (1) if you ever just need an emotional release…watch Vince and Patty sing this song at George Jones’ funeral and you’ll cry like a baby (2) Vince’s “When I Call Your Name” is probably in the Top 10 of greatest country songs ever written (3) one of the best? Just go check his career list of awards (4) as you know from his video with Carrie, the man can tear up a guitar…that’s why you’ll see his Entertainer of the Year awards along with Male Vocalist. He’s good enough he was offered the job with Dire Straits years ago. He’s also playing with the Eagles in recent years.
Don't forget Pure Prairie League
Too sad ,I cry every time I see that video.
I already relate to this song. So I don't need an excuse to cry
Loooove Vince Gill! The 2 singing with him is Patty Loveless and Ricky Skaggs. Both are just as highly talented singers on their own. If I could recommend songs by patty loveless it would be How can I help you say goodbye and you don't even know who I am. And Ricky Skaggs would be I wouldn't change you if I could or Country Boy.
He’s very talented. He’s also very down to earth… we were visiting our son in Nashville and we went to a restaurant. When we went in we ran into Vince Gill. He was so polite and nice.. such a nice gentleman. Very classy human being.
This is the type of song you want to play for your grandparents. Vince was in a band years ago called Pure Prairie League. Listen to Amie. Vince played guitar and sang with them in the early 80s. He was the lead singer in their Greatest Hits album. The harmony will give you chills as this does. This is the type of song that will be eternal.
Vince is the most underrated guitarist and vocalist ever.
Vince Gill's song was sung at my Navy Grandfather's military funeral.
He converted a lot of non-country folks with his "I Still Believe In You" song. Gorgeous!!!
I agree this is s beautiful song but my opinion it has more of a gospel song than county it s song that brings a tesr to everyone's eye. I don't know anyone that listens to this song that doesn't cry when they hear it
My absolute favorite song by Vince. Soo beautiful.
He definitely has a very distinct voice. He actually wrote this song for his brother when he passed away. He is one of a kind. One of his songs that I love is: When I Call Your Name.
There is no way you can't shed a tear listening to him sing this at George Jones funeral
This song was played at my fathers funeral after he fought a hard battle with cancer
Vince has one of the best male country voices of all time, imo. He's also a very accomplished guitar player (yes, he only played the guitar during his and Carrie's rendition of How Great Thou Art). Also the two singing with him (Patty Loveless and Ricky Skaggs) are both very accomplished country singers as well. :)
He sang backup vocals with Carrie.
He first started out in Rock and Roll. Going country was his best move.
@@snowflakehunter He did?. For some reason I thought he started in bluegrass.
@@Gutslinger he actually started out in a genre called country rock and roll. He then turned his music into pure country.
Ricky Skaggs is more known for his christian and bluegrass roots.
This song was played at my dad's funeral. I can never listen to this song without thinking of him and any of my other loved ones who've already passed.
Vince's voice is just angelic. Like that man has the sweetest voice. My favorite song of his is "Pocket Full of Gold"
We played this at my daddy’s funeral.
When my friend Jason died in an apartment fire trying to save another tenant+his body was found in their doorway) his friends requested this song be played. The church refused though they did allow a reading of The Road Less Traveled.
We played the song in the parking lot as the people filed our of the church. No one complained. We were so proud.
While he isn’t hitting the notes like he is here, the version at George Jone’s funeral is definitely the live performance to experience. It will fill your soul. If you can make it to his guitar solo you will even hear mourning and sorrow from the strings. It’s truly a beautiful tribute from two great artists to another.
I played this at my Mother's funeral. A wonderful going home song.
This song used to make me cry, my dead homie who lost his life in the car accident. Ty for respecting it.
"Pocket full of gold" another good one
If you want a real tear jerker, watch “Go Rest High On That Mountain “ performed at the Grand Ole Opry for George Jones’s funeral. Vince is crying orange juice and it’s live.
He wrote this after his brother died. Great singer and musician
He’s a member of the Eagles now! A couple duets I would recommend with him are “I will always love you” with Dolly Parton and “Don’t rush” with Kelly Clarkson.
Vince was also a singer and guitarist in the 1970's pop group Pure Prairie League, who had a #1 hit "Amie". Thanks for playing this musical masterpiece.
I wore that 8 track out‼️ PURE PRARIE LEAGUE, Vince sang Aimee on that in the 70's.....I LOVE VINCE🎶🥰 ✝️
Not just in country music - Vince has one of the best all-time male voices, period. And he's a damn fine guitarist as well.
One of the most angelic voices ever! Love me some Vince Gill. My best friend passed at 30 from cancer and this was played at her funeral..it will always be special to me
One of the most beautiful songs ever!
When I Call Your Name … Vince & Patti Loveless The Lady In This Song Do That Video! It’s Why We All Fell In Love!!
You need to hear when he sang it live at George Jones’ funeral. It was him and Patty Loveless who sings on here with him. It’s super emotional
Amazing how he picked that guitar
Two great Country/Bluegrass legends singing with him, Patty Lovelace and Ricky Skaggs.
Vince can write, sing and play, he is an amazing artist as well as helping and mentoring younger artists.
'Whenever you come around' is another beautiful tune by Vince. He is a GOAT of country & along with his hits, he does back up for many country stars too. This tune is played at so many funerals, I've heard it a zillion times & it moves me every time. For the fun side of Vince, check out 'One more last chance'. Hilarious.
Vince is an accomplished musician as well as an incredible singer.
You’re exactly right. Vince Gill is NO joke. Look up his musical stats. They are phenomenal. He is hugely talented ! Over the years? I’ve seen him 35 times.
All the pertinent information has been given; I will add that Vince has covered pop, country, gospel, contemporary Christian, and bluegrass. I fought to have this played at my mom's memorial (my stepfather and I never did get on), and I know that mama heard and embraced the message. Lovely reaction; I always look forward to your videos!
eta: Both Ricky Skaggs and Patti Loveless deserve a listen on their own; Vince also did a Crossroads with Allison Krauss, which is amazing. Oh, And you ought to check out Alison Krauss, with or without her band, Union Station. Good food for the soul, my friend.
It’s still number 1 even after all these years. He wrote this for his brother that died.
Now you’ve heard Vince’s version and Home Free’s version. I love this song so much
I want this sung at my funeral. One of the greatest country songs ever.
Forget "country." This is a great song.
Warning if you do it live .and use the George Jones memorial video .. be prepared to cry .. it still breaks.me years later because their bond was so strong you can't help but feel the pain
Agreed, have seen that video so many times and I still break down to it.
My grandmother had this played at her funeral. I'll have it as mine as lots of my family will. It hits.
I’ve been listening to Vince’s music since I was 14 in 1994. Vince has an amazing high tenor voice. He sings with the Eagles now.
I remembered when this song first came out. It wasn’t a huge hit. I think it was top 20 song. Now Vince sings this song at a lot of people’s funeral in the entertainment industry. Its a very popular funeral song now.
Other Vince Gill Songs that I like: "Liza Jane", "Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away", "One More Last Chance", "What the Cowgirls Do", "High Lonesome Sound" "The Heart Won't Lie" (Reba McEntire with Vince Gill), "Daydream" (Kermit the Frog with Vince Gill), "I Will Always Love You", (Dolly Parton with Vince Gill)
I work in the funeral business in Texas, and this song is played at almost every funeral service we have.
VINCE GILL and REBA McENTIRE...THE HEART WON'T LIE. The video is Navy training based and the song is absolutely beautiful.
He has just a beautiful voice. He's also just one of the best dudes out there.
When my first cousin younger than me passed I was holding it together ok at his funeral until this song was played. No dry eyes afterwards. Vince Gill wrote this song when his brother passed.
He wrote that song for his brother who died. Such a great song. I want it sung at my funeral!
I had this song played at my Dads funeral. He wrote this after his brother died. Last I heard he did a tour with the Eagles 🦅 after Glen Fry died. ❤️❤️🔥
Ricky Scaggs, and Patty Loveless are the backup singers.
they are also great talents. Ricky Scaggs...I;m Just a Country Boy,
and Patty Loveless has many hits also.
I played this for my mama at her funeral she always loved this song when Sweet Pea sang it
He wrote this for his brother and intended to sing it at his funeral but couldn't do it. He did sing it at George Jones' memorial and broke down a couple of times but stuck to it like the pro he is. he's amazing.
He sings this at all the Number 1 Memorials. This is the # 1 song played at Family Memorials. Vince is 1
You know it's good when a black man's got his hand raised. 👍.
I always said that Vince Gill had a voice so smooth he could sing the phone book and I’d listen lol
He and Patty Lovelace sang this at George Jone's funeral. Patty is the woman singing here. I bawled all through them singing at the funeral.
Do yourself and all of us all a favor and do a reaction to Vince"s "I Still Believe In You"! I promise you will be doing a "stinkface" throughout the entire song!! It's amazing!!
Vince stood there with his hands politely folded together like it wasn't no big thang
He is my 93 y/o mothers favorite singer. He sang in a 70s group, Pure Prairie League.
Singers want him for Duets and he is great guitarists.
He is singing with the Eagles currently.
Dolly Parton and Vince put out a duet of I Will Always Love You a few years after Whitney's version came out. This was the third time that it charted on the country charts for Dolly by the way, but Vince and Dolly's voices blended so beautifully on it.
The 90s was when country was at its best. This song was played at my grandfather’s funeral.
Vince was in the Eagles and also Pure Prairie League. I don't usually go for tenors, but he's an exception. What a voice!
I saw Vince Gill in concert he opened for George strait on his farewell tour and I’m telling you it was an amazing concert.
this is what i love the most about the older country singers, they were great story tellers
Vince Gill is second to none with his voice, Ricky Skaggs is wonderful and Patty Loveless is a force of her own. Vince wrote this son about his brother, who struggled with addiction and lost his life. Very sad story that brought forth an amazingly beautiful song,
Oh yea!! Vince is top notch.. As well as Ricky Skaggs and Patty!! This trio is unbeatable!!
Aside from his talent, he's one of the nicest and funniest person I've ever met
Vince is a generational talent. Not only the incredible voice for solo work, but he has done some unbelievable duets as well (Reba - Heart Don't Lie). He is also widely regarded as one of the best guitarists as well. This song as you said was number one when it came out. It's also a song played at many a funeral over the years.
"When I Call Your Name" will make your heart break. Haunting.
I so enjoy your videos. Darlin that’s a fiddle, that’s no violin. You know when you’ve heard a fiddle, you feel it. Just like you did.
Vince is my boy. My favorite male country singer and Reba is my favorite female country singer.
This was started for his alcoholic friend who died, Whitley and finished when his older brother Bob died. Homefree did a cover of this twice - once when they sing in a church and one with a video that is really good.
Between 1985 and 2017, Gill has charted 67 songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, including seven that reached number one.
Great reaction! This is one of Vince’s best with Ricky Skaggs and Patty Lovelace. If you want to see the funny side of Vince, you should watch “It’s Hard to Kiss the Lips at Night That Chew Your Ass Out All Day Long”. Rodney Crowell is in the video with Vince. He’s another great country singer.
AB Vince wrote this song years ago for his brother who he lost young. Thanks for covering it.
first time I heard this song was 3 days after my 7 year old son died from cancer in 1996. Has deep rooted meaning in my life.
Mr. Gill has sang or played on countless singles and albums. (several hundreds) He has a nice collection of his own work as well. He is also a member of the Eagles. So -He's kind of a big deal. Also one of the sweetest people on earth. This song was written about his brother.
I love how you love the heart and soul of the music.
Vince is the real deal. I saw him play to a packed arena in KC, but he was singing only to me. 🤣 He just stands and sings with his guitar--no fancy lights or stage show, and has multiple CMA Entertainer of the Year awards for all the reasons you nailed in your video.
Try "If You Ever Have Forever In Mind."
I love your reactions to country artists! They are truly soul singers.
ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS VINCE YOU ARE CLOSE TO MY HEART
MY LOVE TO YOUR WIFE AND SHE RECOVERS SOON. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOU LOWS AND HIGHS. BE STILL.
💞💞💞💥💥💥💥💥
Look up how many Grammy's he's won! Vince Gill touches your soul with his songs & voice!
