She wrote this from the side chick's point of view while actually going through a divorce because she was the wife in real life. The emotions in this video are real.
She was inspired by Reba’s song “Whoever’s in New England” from the mistress’s pov.
I was told she had just found out her husband was cheating on her, and she wrote it for him. No matter why it was, the song is emotional and from the heart.

I love seeing people hear the magic that is Jennifer Nettles for the first time.
Jennifer Nettles has the epitome of country voices. They wanted her to do this video several takes and her bandmate fought to not because it broke her. Those tears are real.
I still get chills. Jen Nettles is a BOSS.
This video was done in 1 take. The director wanted them to do it again, but Kristen ( the guitarist) said no. It was to emotional for Jennifer.

Not correct. Actually, she broke down on the first take and he stopped production because it was too hard to watch and sent everyone out of the room while she gathered herself and offered to send everyone home but Jennifer said no, and they did at least 3 more takes, and she cried on all 3 of the rest and it was extremely hard for him to watch. Most of what they use in the video however, is from the first take - but there's splices from all the takes in the video.

Yup, Sugarland is amazing. Jennifer and Christian are outstanding. I'd suggest Stuck Like Glue for another Sugarland video and a much lighter feel.

During the production of this video, she really did break down and cried and the footage was so powerful they kept it in finish product. So those tears you saw are real

This was such an emotional video for her to record. She was being cheated on and rather than write another song from the wifes side, she wrote it from the view of the other woman.. and it still broke her heart to do.
I know there is a story behind this but rarely have I seen a song performed with such passion.
This woman made me realize that country was real music. Jennifer Nettles has one of the best voices that I’ve ever heard. The tone and the power move me like little else.

Jennifer Nettles is a Country Goddess AB, she was actually going through a tough divorce at the time she recorded this so her emotions were real. You need to check out her song Unlove You and her duet with Brandy Clark, the song is called "His Hands" you won't be disappointed.
You can hear the power of Jennifer's voice if you listen her in different groups and arrangements. "Baby Girl" when Sugarland was a trio, "Settlin'" as a duet, "Who Says You Can't Go home?" duet with Jon Bon Jovi, and "Life In A Northern Town", cover of the Dream Academy original with a group of country vocalists.

I wish more "side chicks" would realize that the married man they are messin' around with either have 1) no intention of leaving their wife or 2) if they will do it WITH you they will most likely do it TO you if they do actually leave their wife. (not all of them but a large portion of them)
My husband messed around and when I found out, I went off on him bad. He said he wanted a divorce. I told him he couldn’t afford to divorce me. He hasn’t said the word ‘divorce’ nor cheated since then.

Sugarland was founded 21 years ago. They’ve had multiple hits. They are a huge country duo. There’s nothing new about them.

Collaborated with Joh Bon Jovi that one was my favorite. It was for the Country music Television show called Crossroads. I watched it the night it aired it was amazing how well Jen's voice blended with John's. But they did collaborate Brad Paisley on his Canadian tour in 2005 and Kenny Chesney on his Flip Flop Sumner tour in 2006- 07.
