Look guys, I am 6'2 and 260 lbs of twisted steel and Southern sex appeal. I've lost more than my fair share of friends and family to everything from cancer to car wrecks, from overdoses to suicide. But EVERYTIME I hear this song I break down and cry! It's such a soulful song and it hits me right in the feels. Thanks for review and keep up the good work!
Well Bushcraft Guru, besides the steel and sex appeal, you feel free to include tender heart and compassion, as only a real man can have and express that. Just sayin' !!
They would want u to meet em again in Heaven...anyone reading this plz make sure you're Saved before leaving this world..this life is temporary, next one is eternal..Heaven or hell is the only 2 places and they're both very real.... God's still extending mercy
He started writing the song when Keith Whitley died, I'm No Stranger to the Rain. Then he finished it when his brother died. The 3 singers has a Bluegrass background, which is known for tight harmonies. Nice Reaction.
@@vanessakilgore9891 Vince began writing this song as a tribute to Keith Whitley after his death. The song was not finished until after the death of Vince's brother. After his brother died, Vince added one more verse to tie the death of his brother into it. Thus, making it a tribute to both.
If a person hears this song and cannot allow themselves to be transported to a peaceful place, or call up a memory of one they've lost.... unpack your baggage and set yourself free. The lip biting and smile was an absolutely great to experience the B and S allowed. Good on you!!
Vince has always been one of my favorite voices. I remember his time in the band Pure Prairie League (country rock band) before he branched out on his own. His voice is like a piece of heaven to me.
Vince Gill: in the 70's, Pure Prairie League; in the 80's through the 20teens, hugely successful country career (married to Amy Grant); Mid-20teens, chosen to join Eagles as a guitarist and singer of Glenn Frey's parts. Known in the business as one of the best guitarists around, both acoustic and electric, invited more than once to play on Eric Clapton's Guitar Festival. Listen to more of his work.
Last Christmas Vince added a third verse.... "You're safely home in the arms of Jesus / Eternal life, my brother's found / The day will come I know I'll see him / In that sacred place, on that holy ground,"
Dude, you were near tears...just say it! This is a deeply moving and pure compilation by country music greats that brings compassion and longing to the surface for anyone who has lost a loved one...

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful song. Have you ever listened to Alison Krauss sing "When You Say Nothing At All" - another beautiful song. Be well~
This song was originally dedicated to his friend Keith Whitley and his brother. I'm no stranger to the rain is a reference to Keith's song of the same title.
