I lost my dad at the end of November last year. He went into the hospital for needing blood and they found Leukemia was everywhere. He came home and passed the night after getting home on hospice. I’m 30 and listening to this song breaks my little girl heart all over! This song was my daddy. I am comforted knowing where he is and I will see him again one day. Listening to this now is the first time I’ve fell apart since his passing. He was soo much more than a daddy. It hurts.

Even objectively, if that's possible, this isn't nearly as powerful or evocative as her performance of 'How Great Thou Art'. I'm not the biggest fan of Gospel music, but Carrie singing 'How Great Thou Art' nearly brought a tear to my eye.

I have always been impressed by Carrie Underwood, but this? This takes it to another level. She has such a beautiful voice, and she controls it so perfectly, but when she lets loose at the end, I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe there could be any angel that sounds better than her.

How Great Thou Art is my absolute favourite that she does but have you seen her 'Hallelujah' with John Legend? Epic, sounds like an angel and looks like an angel.
She has had so many great performances and this one makes my top 10 list. She is simply a phenomenal singer, one of the very best in music today. What a way to honor another phenomenal singer, Vince Gill
I knew she was a star when I saw her audition on American Idol. She just continues to outdo in every way. Definitely a voice of an angel and such raw emotion too. God has truly given her an amazing gift.
What a beautiful tribute not only to Vince Gill but to all who have lost a loved one. No kudos though to the fuzzed-out Strat guitar that is not appropriate to this song but only to head-bobbin' rockers who don't have an appreciation of tone.
If there was ever the voice of an angel here on earth it has to be Carrie Underwood. I love listening to her sing about the Lord you can just see her fill up with the Holy Spirit as she's singing .
Knowing Carrie has the same beliefs as I have, watching her perform these type of songs touches my soul. She reaches deep inside my soul and makes me feel the spirit like no one else. Bless you, Carrie Underwood!
This was so powerful. This was one of the songs at my mothers funeral. She loved this song. I have noticed she put in another verse of her own it was soooo powerful I see why Vince had a tear not just him but all of us that were watching. Like a friend said to me if that did not make your skin shiver it was on way to tight. Great version.
My local church sings this at funerals. Every person who I've loved that's died has had this sung or played at their funeral. I haven't been able to listen to it since I was a teenager without bawling my eyes out. Carrie preformed it like it was written for her.

SHE KILLED IT. Breathtaking.
Preparing to sing this song at my cousin's funeral today. Please pray for me that I can be strong for everyone.
nobody but nobody carries his feelings on his sleeve like vince gill, there is no phoniness, it's all right there to see. a well deserved award.
Kelly Clarkson's version is actually better
Beautiful with a beautiful voice
There will never ever be another voice like Carrie underwood she is just on another level from everyone else.
I think this could easily be one of her best performances ❤
Along with "How Great Thou Art".
Absolutely beautiful. This song was played at my husband's funeral and always brings tears to my eyes. Carrie sure did it justice
I need your nomber

Carrie done took me to church! Absolutely stunning!
This woman is an angel on 🌎 earth!
Wow. Just wow. Just when you think she can't get any better she does this.
Hello Chris, how are you doing today.
I’ve been waiting for this performance to be released! No better person to sing this song than Carrie 🙏🏻🙏🏻 what a powerhouse
Maybe it will be a single someday by Carrie 🙏🏻
Hello! Vince Gill!
@@bleuskye8124 no comparison, Vince owns this song.
@@Imprisoned1995 Absolutely!
Same. I’ve always wished she would sing this. It was a dream come true and no one could have done it better.
If there was ever the voice of an angel here on earth it has to be Carrie Underwood. I love listening to her sing about the Lord you can just see her fill up with the Holy Spirit as she's singing .
Already planning to have the funeral home play this at my Mom"s funeral. She is 88 and in skilled care !
Knowing Carrie has the same beliefs as I have, watching her perform these type of songs touches my soul. She reaches deep inside my soul and makes me feel the spirit like no one else. Bless you, Carrie Underwood!
@@officeboy89 Thank you for your 2 cents
Knowing she believes in every word really makes all the difference.
@@officeboy89 who cares. It doesn't matter. Why be negative over a song so beautiful?
Beautiful voice and song.
Carrie really felt this song, this is a beautiful religious hymn.
Song just hits differently once you lose a loved one.. RIP brother!
Carrie’s version was definitely a goose bump moment
Vince added that verse. He always felt that it needed another verse to make it great.
This performance must be released
carrie underwood is the princess of country gospel
Prayers for Autumn and family. We may not understand this , but like this song says " All my life you have been faithful "
I'm a grown man and this rendition gives me goosebumps every single time! Unbelievably talented man. Wow......
This is right up there with the time she sang How Great Thou Art with Vince! ❤
Hello Lisa, how are you doing?
Played this at my dad's funeral. What a beautiful rendition! ❤
one word.... MASTERFULL!!!!!! This lady can sing anything and continues to prove it.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@ashley1994 why was that necessary?
@@scottiefedordudley8274 i agree move on.
Agreed
❤❤❤❤
She deserves all the awards that country music industry can give....she's an incredible singer and a person as well 👍 well deserved Carrie 💖❤️❤️
Outstanding and the last verse superb
So glad I'm not the only one that noticed the last verse! That's the Holy Spirit working.
Amen 🙏🏼 🙌🏼
My local church sings this at funerals. Every person who I've loved that's died has had this sung or played at their funeral. I haven't been able to listen to it since I was a teenager without bawling my eyes out. Carrie preformed it like it was written for her.
Well, I couldn't think of anyone else to sing that song but Vince Gill, until now. Absolutely gorgeous voice. I know Vince Gill is mighty proud to have had Carrie sing his song.
This is what a true artist sounds like
Hugs From Perú 🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪
She made one of my favorite songs even better. Wow. Didn’t think it was possible but if anyone could do Vince Gill justice, it’s Carrie Underwood.
OMG!! I’m an old school county guy but she absolutely just crushed this!!
Carrie brings the soul every single time she begins to sing! SHE NEVER JUST GOES THROUGH THE MOTIONS....SHE ALWAYS BRINGS THE HEAT.
We (still) love u Carrie🎉
Carrie's vocal skills put her in the conversation to be the greatest singer in country music history.
So beautifully done, but I still think Vince Gills performance of this particular song is unmatchable by anyone.
