. I was so confused & perplexed. In my mind I thought "I'd like to help you out with that but right now I'm kinda busy checking my breathing & pulse to see if I've died of a broken heart. Wondering how it's even possible that hasn't occurred. Not upset it hasn't happened. Just perplexed"
And I'd bring you lotsa sips of water & plenty of food for you to eat only when you want....& Silently.
And hold your hand if you wanted to hold someone's hand.

I have always been impressed by Carrie Underwood, but this? This takes it to another level. She has such a beautiful voice, and she controls it so perfectly, but when she lets loose at the end, I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe there could be any angel that sounds better than her.

I left a comment saying essentially the opposite. : ] This is excellent, and the songs are very different from one another, but I don't know how anyone who isn't simply biased in favor of 'Go Rest High On That Mountain' can say that this surpasses her rendition of 'How Great Thou Art'. Even objectively, if that's possible, this isn't nearly as powerful or evocative as her performance of 'How Great Thou Art'. I'm not the biggest fan of Gospel music, but Carrie singing 'How Great Thou Art' nearly brought a tear to my eye.

My daddy just passed in May. He worked his entire life as a servant of God and pastor and then became sick. Then spent the rest of his life fighting Parkinson’s disease. I always wanted to honor him with this song. Daddy, go rest high with our Heavenly Father, for I know your work here is done. ❤❤❤ You are so deeply missed and loved. My brother passed away this past Saturday. We will be having this played at his funeral. The last 6 years of his life have been rough on him. So time for him to Rest In Peace!
My brother passed away Monday (March 4th) 37 years old in a tragic wreck God called him home and I’ll be singing this song for him at his funeral. I pray God and him will give me the strength to get through it. ❤️. He had a hard life and struggled and battled his whole life and he’s finally healed and rejoicing in heaven.

To the people commenting about her lips, she had an accident a few years back where she needed 40+ stitches across her mouth up to her nose, it was very bad. Since then, she has always looked different. She probably also requires upkeep… but PLEASE stop trashing her about it, she is still GORGEOUS!

Not sure if anyone noticed, but Carrie actually sang the last verse that you very rarely ever hear. Vince didn’t know she was doing that verse. That is what brought Vince to tears. Carrie really knows how to give a heart tugging performance and pay tribute to an artist.
I noticed. My brother passed away on 08-21-2022. This song was written in tribute to Vince Gills brother. It is an amazing song that gives me much comfort.

As amazing as the lights and applause were in that auditorium, how many orders of magnitude more amazing it will be before the Lord's throne and for all who will experience the joy of being there.
I knew she was a star when I saw her audition on American Idol. She just continues to outdo in every way. Definitely a voice of an angel and such raw emotion too. God has truly given her an amazing gift.

Really, the lyrics are joyful. Especially the third verse. It’s just Vince sings it mournfully. That’s the bittersweetness of it, to me.

Vince has always been a Carrie fan and proud dad or uncle in the country music world. He's so proud of her success in the country music world.
The tears were flowing when Carrie sang this song. I lost my dad almost 26 years ago and my local country music station was doing a nation wide telethon for Saint Jude and the American Cancer Society a week after his funeral. I called in and told them that I lost him to lung cancer, I thanked God that he got to meet his first grandchild, and asked if they could play and dedicate this song to him. Well they did, and every time I hear it I cry just as much.
Crying so bad right now. We played Vince’s version at my moms funeral. The only song she specifically asked for. God this makes me miss her so much. 😢 fly high with the angels mom. Love you so much!

This was so powerful. This was one of the songs at my mothers funeral. She loved this song. I have noticed she put in another verse of her own it was soooo powerful I see why Vince had a tear not just him but all of us that were watching.
