This fixed my 2005 Ram 2500 Cummins. Odometer and shift position indicator off. No inside turn signals or any alarm lights. They would work for a day or two if it was hot outside. Been that way for about 5 years. 242,000 miles on the Ram.
Mine ended up being the big white resistor for the odometer and all the indicator lights under the tachometer. In my case none of the indicator lights worked in the display. I had to remove the needles and the face plate, which turned out to be a pain to get them put back on in the correct position. It helps to have a bi-directional scanner with a gauge calibration function.
@@agdg94 I watched a few of these videos and there's another video that has you take off the needles and faceplate. Once you do that, it exposes the two pins of that big white resistor and a couple of components right next to the resistor. In the video, it was one of the two components that had come loose. I didn't mess with any of the chips or components that the guy in this video talks about, except the big resistor.
Not sure if it’s an issue on the earlys but on my 06 I made some plastic washers/insulators that go in between the board and the shell to reduce vibration because the board doesn’t get completely clamped in the shell. That’s what causes them to come undone. 3 years later still working as it should🤟🏼
My circuit board by the mosfits is burnt is that repairable. And is the 3500 diesel clusters different it’sa 2003 model year. Thanks for any help you can give me.
i have a 2003 2500 ram cummins and i have about 600,000 miles on it. the odometer slowly faded and went dark around 550,000 . a couple of times it came back on briefly when it was warm and very low humidity but has been dark for a couple of years now. i removed the cluster the other day ( had to swap out the cluster lights anyway, good time to do both i guess) the two MOSFETs you show in the center of the circuit board are not on mine. nor is there a keyless remote module. i took that thing apart and went over it with stacked magnifying glasses looking for broken solder to no avail. new dash lights are awesome but still no odometer. i'm stumped. i wonder why the difference in circuit board designs? maybe for diesel?

Did you replace the resistor? I tried everything in the video suggested but still no odometer or indicator lights

Mine was also the ceramic resistor solder......they do get very hot when on...

Super, soldered the 2 middle transistirs, now the gear selector working
It work I only did the 2 misfits on top,my problem was no warning lights and no turn signal inside the truck.

Can you fix mine?, I was going to try fixing it but my board seemed a bit different. I have 2003 dodge ram 3500 5.9 Cummins.

That sounds like a job for circuitboardmedics.com which is where I ended up sending this unit to get fixed. My fix didn't last long unfortunately.
Which one is where you solder for the 06 problem of having no or inaccurate tachometer?
The tach issue is the horizontal chips on either side of the lower board section as I understand it. The 06 has them in the same place I think.
