Thanks so much for this tutorial! I bought some of these for my elderly Mom to use but the rest of us have taken to using them as well. Love your tutorials. 💜💛

My husband just asked me to make him one of these to take to work. I had bought one at a craft show years ago! I was going to try and figure it out but you've made such a nice style and great tutorial! Now I know exactly how to do it. Thank you!

Thx for this tutorial. Some ppl also sew-in the batting so it won't shift. 2 lines across the diagonals & if desired, the centers, also.
You can extend the last piece of bias binding to make a loop holder. About 5" will make a nice one. Sew-in the raw edge to the upper edge well (X shape) to prevent ravel, etc.

Totally! No metal or anything. And it doesn’t melt!

The general rule is, as long as everything you use is 100% cotton (or natural fibers)- including the batting and thread- you don’t have to worry about melting or causing a fire in your microwave. Polyester thread runs a risk of not only melting in the microwave, but also sparking a flame. Also fleece is polyester and can get super hot. In general, I’d stay away from anything polyester. I’d rather be safe than sorry. Best to use Lindsey’s version for keeping things warm or cold but not heating in the microwave just in case; or change out the materials for 100% cotton

@@InsidetheHempolyester thread and fusible interfacing are not safe for the microwave. If in doubt as to whether a fabric or thread is 100% cotton, snip a small piece, & holding with pliers or tweezers over the sink, use a lighter to catch a flame. If it turns completely to ash, it's all cotton. If anything ends up like tar or feels hard, it has other synthetic fibers in it. Don't use in micro! TFS
