Thank you so much for your tips. I have all the equipment to sublimate but haven't started yet. You have saved me quite a bit of wasted time with your tips. Thanks from Australia
I recently purchased the Brother SP1. It is awesome! I had never Sublimated before getting it. It is so easy to use, cleans it's heads automatically to prevent clogging. I love it!
Another source for sublimation printers could be at your local public library. I recently found out that a nearby library has a sublimation printer. I took a file there on USB drive and printed it out.
Thank you so, so much for yet another wonderful, informative, thorough and super helpful video. I appreciate all of the hard work that went into all of the research to cover every single aspect of sublimation. Every question I had about sublimation has been answered in this video and way more. You and your team are awesome!
This was awesome like usual! Thank you Jennifer for being such a good teacher and educating us. Love to the whole team for a job well done! Craft Love, Cornelia
I also want to add a tip to not "dry preheat" your press. Meaning If you preheat a mug press (especially an auto mug press I believe they are more succeptablebto this because the pressure is automatically adjusted) you should always have a designated mug (without anything on it) in the press to keep the internal heating area from bubbling and ruining your press because it's empty.
I found that the temperature and time can depend on what elevation you are in. We are in the Rocky Mountains so I have to have more time on certain projects.
For sublimation, you need to use thermal laminate sheets rather than self-adhesive laminating sheets; the thermal laminate is specifically designed to withstand the high heat of a heat press needed for the sublimation process, while self-adhesive laminates are not and may melt or damage your project.
Make sure the mug is for sublimation. Use a lint roller to clean your mug to ensure there are no dust particles or debris on the surface. Secure the design tightly against the mug using tape. Make sure there are no gaps between the paper and the mug. Look closely along the top and bottom edges of the paper and check for gaps. If you see any, add more tape pieces to ensure the entire design is tight against the mug.
Love the sublimation articles , but won’t make any . Won’t buy a sublimation printer , because by the time sublimation came out I already have bought 2 printer 1 laser and 1 inkjet . Don’t spend as much on raft supplies because everything is too expensive. I don’t do as much craft any more . I have arthritis in my left hand , make everything different for me . Takes me longer to do things and get tired faster. I do craft when I have good days .😔😏😊

Really enjoying these tips but I do have a question, I really want to make the toilet roll snowmen but don't do sublimation is there any other way to do them please?
Hello, is it possible to unclog a printer I haven't used in years? I bought an ecotank 4760 and 15000 two years ago and stopped using them due to not creating anymore. I want to revisit and wondering if I need new printers or can I use them still?
What is your thoughts about sublimating on black magic coffee mugs? We have a customer that wants their logo on a black mug but it is black in their logo and that throws everything off!! Please help?!
Hi there Jennifer! Boy, am I confused. I made my own design from scratch, to ma a infusible ink mug. When I bring my design onto the canvas, then get the template for the mug design, I loose my made up design. I can't seem to get both my image and mug template on the same canvas. What am I doing wrong. Also, I I want to draw my own design using sublimation markers, do I use plain laser copy paper, or sublimation laser paper? Hope to hear from you soon!!! Susan D. 😊😊😊
It sounds like you're having some trouble with getting both your custom design and the mug template onto the same canvas in Cricut Design Space. Here are a few steps to help you out: Ungroup the Design: When you bring your design onto the canvas, make sure to ungroup it so that all elements are on separate layers. This will help you manage each part of your design individually. Add the Template: After ungrouping your design, upload the SVG file with the mug template and add it to your canvas. Make sure you have both the design and the template visible on the canvas. Arrange Layers: If your design disappears when you add the template, it might be getting hidden behind the template layer. Select your design, then click on "Arrange" and choose "Bring to Front" to make sure your design is on top of the template. Align and Attach: Once both the design and the template are on the canvas, you can align them as needed. Hold down the shift key and select both the illustration and its template in the layers panel. Click "Align" and select "Center" to move the design to the middle of the template. Then, click "Attach" to ensure that Cricut knows to run these operations in the exact spots. Regarding your second question about the type of paper to use for drawing your own design with sublimation markers: Yes, you can use plain laser copy paper for drawing your design with sublimation markers.
Hi again Jennifer! Well....I tried everything you suggested to get my handmade design from scratch, I'm my projects, onto the canvas, then getting up the mug press design setup, but nope, I always lose my design from the canvas. I Tr9doing the opposite, and the same thing happens. I am so lost and confused. Thank you for your help. I will try to figure something out! Take care! Susan D. 😊😊😊

Great session. Do you need to use thermal laminate sheets or can the self adhesive type be used?
For sublimation, you need to use thermal laminate sheets rather than self-adhesive laminating sheets; the thermal laminate is specifically designed to withstand the high heat of a heat press needed for the sublimation process, while self-adhesive laminates are not and may melt or damage your project.
I am always loosing the lint roller. i just now found my canvas bag that has compartments so once I find those lint rollers they will go in the bag.
I need the cheat sheet!
I have an Epson 3850. Thinking of getting the Epson 8550 for large format printing. I print something on my sub printer even if I’m not sublimating.
I just recently got a cup press😮
Yay! have fun!
Can you recoat slate if you messed up the sublimation? If you can, what used to recoat
You can try to recoat slate after a sublimation mistake using a sublimation coating solution like Subli Glaze.

Careful Jennifer, you say epsom Eco tank is under $200. in my country it is not sadly.
Do you need to prepare the mug in any way before you sublimate it.
How do I get the sublimation cheat sheet
