With an emphasis on simplicity and affordability, this video is a gem for gardening enthusiasts. The host's clear instructions on DIY rainwater harvesting, coupled with the electric watering pump, make it an engaging and useful guide for anyone looking to enhance their garden while being environmentally conscious.
Dude! I was just researching how to DIY a watering system for my lawn and garden and then this video pops up. Like, what?! Talk about right place, right time! I love all your videos but when one relates to me personally, I like it even more. ✌️
LOVE hearing that and so glad it was such perfect timing. Thanks so much for all your support
cool project!
Ha, love the opening Brent. Quick fact, I got to visit the location in the Mojave Desert where those very words were spoken for the film. Back to the project, what a great idea and build. I did something pretty similar, and it worked great here in California during the rainy spring.
Thanks amazing Mitch! Thanks so much for sharing and I'm glad someone got my movie reference haha :)
This is a great solution! We're glad you enjoyed the new Cordless FLEXiO sprayer!
It's amazing some of the extreme high end quality you do and then there's this kind of stuff that's just thrown together! Cool idea though. I appreciate the approachableness this video is.
I try my best to be inclusive on my channel and I understand that not everyone can take on large deck and high end home remodeling projects. However, this is a project I feel many people can utilize on their own home and requires a lower skillset. Thanks so much for for watching and all the support.
I'm always caught off guard by how different pressure treated lumber is up there in the PNW compared to down here in the south. My folks live up that way, and every time I visit, my father and I build something together. I wish I could have it shipped down here, as it's a lot stronger, and a lot more stable!
This is a really cool project! I love using cedar fence pickets for outdoor projects!
It's crazy to see how PT lumber changes based on the region your in. Thanks so much for watching and all the support.
Looks beautiful,GOD BLESS
Great video Brent. Such a simple and smart way to hide a water collection system. Thanks for the tips! I’ll use that at my house here in SoCal
Love hearing that and thanks so much for all the support Roger.
I need one of these. Love it!
Happy Fourth of July dude🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
We love you keep up the great work my man!
Is there not a motor or something to
Install to the spigot to give the garden hose some water pressure??
If i find an option like that I will let you know but haven't found one yet. Thanks for watching.
Perfect
Thanks so much for watching and all the support.
@@BYOTools I think it came out really good! I always enjoy your videos.
Hey do u have a video with a sprayer gun like that but corded? Or , can you recommend on please ? Thanks
Hi I had a question about your turf install 2 years ago. For a larger piece would you have to use a carpet kicker to stretch it out? Or would the infill be enough?
Here in Australia we capture our rain water for decades already. I have about 50 000liters in three water tanks. My over flow goes into my dam. U
50k!!!! Wow! Thats a lot of rain water! Thanks so much for sharing and all the support.
Hey man, you may want to hold off on watering those tomatoes with roof water, unless you have a metal roof of course.
So from 1 to 10 how easy was the Wagner paint sprayer easy to clean? Nice work as always. Forney, TX
Great question and sorry I didn't include that in the video Mary. I was extremely easy. All I did was pour out all the excess stain, poured a little paint thinner in the hopper and shack it up, pour that our and ad a bit more paint thinner in it and spray until the spray comes out clean. Then wipe it with a clean cloth and done!
hey brent! cool video! 1st! UR THE BEST
Thanks so much for all the support.
@@BYOTools ur welcome :)
I have a 550 gallon unit that I purchased but haven't installed yet as it will sit along side the house and in between two downspouts. I haven't quite figured out the rain collection spout connections (though what I have seen will cost me a bit) and am also somewhat concerned about the silt and roof material collecting in a tank of that size that I can't get into. My guess would be to add the spigot assembly about a half of a foot above the bottom to allow for the silt to settle and I won't draw from that area. Also will probably place it on a defined gravel area to allow for drainage from overflow. Definitely need to get it connected before fall so I can draw from the rains when it starts again. If I can get it going without breaking the bank AND working correctly I intend to get a second one for the other side of the house.
Thanks so much for the input Stephen and your thought process. Always hard to keep things within budget and there are always creative ways of doing so. Hope things work out on your project.
I live in the PNW as well. Is it legal to collect rain in Washington state?
Are you doing a DIY project or just using this time and space to ADVERTISE FOR A BUNCH OF COMPANIES ?
How do you filter out the forever chemicals?
Forever chemicals? He's not using it as potable water or for fruit/vegetables. Not necessary to to be that concerned.
@@JMC8415 yeah I commented early before seeing him watering flowers
Are you watering a cactus 😂
LOL! No not many cactuses in the PNW haha. Thanks for watching.
I've been doing so much research on tap water recently and it's scary the amount of carcinogens that are in there and we're pumping them into our bodies every day. I live in Ireland so rainwater is plentiful - almost 365 days a year here in Cavan. For now I'll be getting a filter on our mains system but definitely think we could make more use out of rain water for sure. I know people locally who have most of the facilities in their homes running of rain water. Great video Brett. Definitely food for thought.
I'm in Seattle so I feel you on the 365 days of rain haha! We aren't that bad though. Thanks so much for your thoughts and all the support of the channel.
i remembwr ur last rain downspout sump pump video and u got all wet!
Ooooo that was a fun one lol! Glad I stayed dry this time :)

I assure you the roof is on the horizon haha! Thanks so much for watching.
It was his wife’s severed head, bro… His wife’s head
There's a reason why its one of the most memorable lines in movie history and has become a parody. Happy to say that my box just has a rain barrel in it :) Thanks for watching buddy and hope there was no offense taken by me using that line.
What’s in the booooooooooxxxxxxxxxx
Bro breathes every single word in his voice over so annoying 😂😂
another pointless job of cluttering up your own home, plus advertising a Wagner spray gun.
As i explained at the very beginning of the video this gutter is feeding directly to a concrete patio below my deck. So this project for me is a perfect way to collect and utilize the rainwater this gutter gets to water our plants on top of our deck. And like all of my sponsored videos I won't advertise and push a product to my BYOT audience unless it is well suited for the project and makes sense. This was a perfect collaboration opportunity. Thanks for watching.
