I have made a bunch of these and your instructions are really great. The only things I suggest is sewing the front and back cover to the binding first and then covering the whole thing with one piece of interlining (after you’ve pressed it of course). It makes less bulk. Also, I don’t interline the sleeves or the lining. My covers are easy to turn and press and they look great. I use fabric glue to close the turn opening instead of hand sewing closed. Also, I don’t sew a pen loop on, but I do make a little pen pocket and sew it to the front after bonding the interlining. Everyone comments on the cute little pocket. 🎉
I am glad to hear you are going to make the project. Please post pics in the group when you do. Yes, the closure is the same technique as the clutch. Thanks for watching!
Not only do I like the pattern but the fabrics as well! And yes, I do have. You almost lost me sf hand stitching but as you explained it can’t be seen, sew I will try this! Thanks much
This is perfect for any scraps. Can actually piece squares or strips for the front and back. Best video presentation I’ve seen in a long time. Thank you for making it simple
Awesome project, Rosie! That will make a nice Christmas gift. I once had a nifty, new little tiny pair of embroidery scissors, I found them on the floor one day with one handle chewed nearly off! My little shadow chihuahua had found them. Lastly, I got a new rotary cutter last week and wore a bandaid on my left middle fingertip all week.. 🙃 Thanks for another awesome pattern, I love the fabric! Jonee
This is absolutely the best directions and tutorial for these notebook covers that I have seen! Such a great looking notebook…with a closure and a pencil holder! Thank you! Thank you!
I've done two like this now, and I've looked at other videos of the same project, with different twists and spins, but I come back to yours because it is calm and I can follow it without getting turned around. Thank you for that!!!
Another brilliant tutorial! I have been holding off on watching this one until I finished the minimalist wallet because I knew I'd get side tracked lol! Thank you Rosie!
Your first video that i watched i followed to a t to make an Elaine pouch. Your dimensions are extremely important like, the quarter inch seam allowance.
This is the best tutorial I have seen for making covers. Your idea to round the edges and the brilliant hidden closure are just wonderful. Thank you so much!!
Absolutely perfect fit! 👍😊 Beautiful!! ❤ Thank you Rosie ... these covers would make really nice gifts .. composition books are inexpensive and great for journaling. I love your choice of fabics for the tutorial! 🥰
Thanks, Rosie! Another great project and incredible tutorial! I'm a new self-taught sewist (your videos are a tremendous help!!!). I've been avoiding blind stitches but this tutorial has given me the confidence to give it a try!
Finally had a few minutes to watch. This is a fabulous make! Excellent tutorial with great techniques for hiding the closure. Dang girl! You nailed another exceptional tutorial. ❤
Shut the front door wonderful. Wow. Now I need to figure out how to do my planner haha I think I can figure it out by this video. Girl your videos are so great
Very nicely done. Wonderful presentation. When hand stitching the closure, can you use a 1/4” hem tape, place it in the opening and press it firmly. It should turn and remain secure. Best wishes.
Love this! I have been making covers but I like how yours have two fabrics on the outside. Mine only had one. Much more interesting. Thank you so much for the video.
Thankyou Rosie, just finished my first book cover as a last minute gift just need to hand stitch closing. Any ways wanted to let you know my book has 200 pages, and it worked out great thanks again Lou
Hello from Alberta, Canada. Thx for the great tutorial on the composition notebook covers. I especially liked your method for closing the opening - the best method I’ve seen and I have looked at a bunch of you tube tutorials!
Rosie, I just discovered your channel and spent the afternoon binge watching a bunch of projects. I am so impressed and can't wait to get started. Now which project to start on? Hmmm? What a fun dilemma!
Made one today, but with interfacing on each piece it made it kinda bulky at the seems, had to trim the cover a little to fit it in, but it is super cute and I’ll be making more! Thank you!
Over the years, I've made quite a few covers. I have one suggestion so you don't need to leave a seam open or turn it through. Lay the outer cover on the table, face up, followed by the sleeves on each side, and then the inside lining right sides down. Make the inside lining LESS than the length of the body of the cover as it does not need to be caught in the seams and it will lay underneath the sleeves where the edges can not be seen. Sometimes I serge the edges of the inside lining that is under the sleeves. Then sew all the way around. Then just turn it right side out through the gap left behind the sleeve.
If you please, I am trying to visualize this...do you have a video of these steps? I am going to make one from the directions above, but always willing to learn!
A thought I would make a fabric pen holder pouch maybe with a button and slide on the elastic before u sew it in so u would have a pen holder pouch on the elastic band so you know you always have a pen and not worry about Fallin out of the loop lol
i think I missed something. Why did you leave the two corners unstitched on the first side? I rewatched it and I see where it gets closed up on the ends now. I will have to make some of these!
I will think about it. The issue is that Bibles come in all different sizes, so I would have to think about coming up with a standard size. Thanks for watching!

Hola, saludos desde España
Ms Rosie, could you possible add to your tutorial lists a Bible case with zipper.? 😬☺️
I will think about it. The issue is that Bibles come in all different sizes, so I would have to think about coming up with a standard size. Thanks for watching!
@@RosiesArtStudio yes Ma’am. That’s true. I’d be tickled with a “process” and perhaps one of your handy worksheets. 😁♥️
I want to use batting and quilt mine. How do you think that would work with the 3/8 sewing line?
Where did you get the hot pink elastic? All I can find locally is hohum white.
Mi pregunta es... Lavas las telas antes de coser?? Al ser de algodón puede encoger??
The artwork on the material looks very familiar, do you know who did the artwork?
The designer is Tula Pink. Thanks for watching!
Could this be made with vinyl?
