But I’d rather throw the warranty out the window (I learnt with my lc200 Toyota warranty isn’t worth the conversation) and spend the extra money on some under bonnet upgrades, sound/usb/12v additions, interior upgrades, and maybe some wheels/suspension/flares/front bumper (rogue or gr) and paint protection and probably still come out with $$$ saved in the end.
I got the rogue and had Roh 18 inch rims and tyres fitted , when I picked it up the manager told me the tyres just rubbed and had to remove front mudflaps not happy
Ronny the GR Sport also has vastly upgraded suspension too. I'm looking at replacing a 1997 TX Prado and the GR looks to have the edge, particularly for my off roading and towing a 19 foot off road caravan. You're usually concise and accurate, but you're well off the mark there.
Whatever your choice, the next model will have additional features and a higher price. They say the traction control compensates for not having the the front locker. Also, I think in my FJ Cruiser (which is a Toyota!) the rear diff locker doesn't turn the traction control off (or at least the lights say they are still on)! So, it's strange that the 2023 Hilux can't do it!

There's some likelihood that you 've been driving with >> 20 PSI after a while. You might notice this when parking for a while and having more traction afterwards. Why does Toyota ship with road tires? I bet it's because of consumption. They can't allow to lose 2l/100km for putting adequate tires.
it's because if safety and crash test. if there is less rubber, the car is less likely to bounce of. If you have 19" wheel with low rubber you will pass the moose test easy. Same speed, same everything the car will tipp easier with more rubber in 16 oder 17 wheels. That's because.

Why do Toyota not allow TC on the front when the rear diff is locked? That would make more sense of they don’t want to give us a front diff lock!
What about the suspension upgrade of the GR tho. I really think it needed a front locker tho
Is there a 1-GRFE 4.0L V6 version like the Prado and Tacoma? 200kw is way better than 150.
Low range does not disable traction control automatically
Wait for the GR Sport V with the 3.3L V6 Diesel Engine 😄
Quite happy with my 2019 "poverty pack' SR model .
I like the deisgn of those fenders I wonder how it would fit with Arctic Truck verson of Hilux here in Europe.
The 6sp "lock out" could be speed related as on my work corolla doesnt wanna go in 7th (CVT) below 80, so if your old SR5 was a 100k 6th, with the 33s it could be 120ks or something like that 🤔🤷♂️
have they got power mode...makes a big difference in my 2018 fortuner
It's just a throttle controller not a tune
I'd happily go for a grs. The three are "nearly" the same but i definitely love the look of the grs... and if it has the v6 petrol engine (with drums in the rear 😢) , that will be the perfect truck for beach, forest, sahara and the roads between them :)
I kind of understand the whole stock test. But let be honest, barely any 4x4s are kept stock. Tyres are nearly the first change haha.
