- 2026 WILL BE the year that Kings Island will open their NEXT major roller coaster! And now there are some interesting rumors going around that Kings Island is planning on bring back Son of Beast in some form to the park! Could this next roller coaster be themed to the park's former iconic wooden roller coasters? I share my thoughts on if this would really happen and if it even makes sense for Kings Island to go this direction with their newest roller coaster.
There is a huge plot of land where Son of Beast once stood that could be used for this mega project!

I like that idea. A ground up RMC coaster on the old Son of Beast plot, and a Mack Rides Extreme Spinner in the Vortex plot of land would be the perfect additions for Kings Island.
Please no tilt or dive coaster. CP is just getting a tilt in 2025 and opening one in 2026 would be a terrible move from the park. I’m okay with the park getting a dive coaster in the future it’s just not what they need next

“ZomBeast” and the theme is that Banshee has raised SoB from the dead. It fits with that “spooky” themed area next to the Bat and Banshee. It’s the only answer.

I seen a video of “Haunt”, and in the ride graveyard, the only grave with the casket out of the ground was the SOB.
I really think they are hinting at a Hybrid.
if I had to bet I think they're going to do the Vortex plot of land next, so it spreads out the crowds, and then in 2029 or 2030 we can see a new coaster in Action Zone, and have it go over the entrance plaza, that would be awesome to see walking into the park, plus have it go over Congo Falls would be neat! Other parks like Dollywood aren't slowing down on improving their park so KI shouldn't either.
I wouldn’t be mad if KI got another woodie… I don’t think having a successful park is all about “filling in the gaps”, especially when cedar point is a few hours away. There is so much you can do within the wooden coaster model, that having a bigger variety would make KI the quintessential wooden coaster theme park. Not a bad label imo and definitely capable of providing satisfying fun for the masses.

I’m already going to say it’s not happening ever! To say Son of Beast was problematic is a huge understatement and considering the reputation it had……. Do I need to say more?

Son of beast and the station don't always have to be related you know it's an old station cedar fair saves money by using it wow impossible to understand
@@TheNinthHeart Because they would be using the exact same blue print and I’ve heard they’ve found the exact same wood, they’ve found it somewhere.
Or that’s the only way it makes sense. No way could using the name or theme or anything be used for a ground up RMC or other type of coaster.
If it’s not that, then this guy is just screaming about SOB to scream.
The 1st Bat was a huge problem for KI yet they have a coaster called The Bat in the same style as the original

As for the area of formerly housing son of beast yeah and RMC would look great there as long as they use the terrain to the utmost following a similar layout to its predecessor where it goes out and back in an even longer layout perhaps partially underground.
Commenting before I watch. My wish is for a ground up RMC. Spin off of son of beast. maybe theme the supports to look wooden and make one of the best rides in the world

Would love for 2026 to bring either a Mack Extreme Spinner or Mack Stryker to the Vortex plot of land and 2029/30 to bring an RMC hybrid to the Son of Beast plot of land. 2029 could be the 20th anniversary of SoB’s demise, while 2030 could be the 30th anniversary of its opening.
I personally don’t want another B&M at Kings Island. They have 3 good ones and I think that’s enough. Any more, and the park begins to lose its coaster diversity with 4 B&Ms and 4 woodies.
Beyond the two main thrill coasters, I hope the park achieves the following by the early 2030s:
- revamp the entrance
- get rid of Invertigo
- redo the Action Zone area of the park
- get an upper-tier family coaster
I have always said that RMC needs to rebuild Son of Beast.
I’m in 100% for a ground up RMC in the old SOB plot…call it Prodigal Son or Resurrection
It's crazy to me that is 2024 & we STILL have not seen a single wooden coaster with a loop on it.
SoB was so far ahead of its time.
Considering the loop was steel, that means it was a hybrid coaster. Obviously there are plenty of those with inversions. First of it's kind maybe, but i'm glad we have much better versions these days.
@Cyco-Dude that's fair, but genre technicality aside, there is still not one single hybrid or wood coaster that features a vertical loop.
The ground-up RMC would be cool. The mack anything would be cool. A multi-launch family coaster would also be a good fit; something a step up from Soap Box and Backlot. Let's just do all three! And then scrap Invertigo for something better.

Also kings island does not seem interested in vortex plot for next year because they dont have a plan to relocate the drones as of now

Source for this information? I could honestly see them moving the drone launch pad to by the old Crypt building and fly them over near the Slaughterhouse building next to the beast.

I think the next coaster King's Island will pay homage to is the beloved Vortex, but I'd be okay with an RMC "Twisted Beast" in that plot.
I'll be keeping my eye out for the exciting surprise and I will be like, "Well......Son of a Beast" when it hits.
GCI titan track could be used for 200+ son of beast replacement, I personally prefer RMC idea though. I agree whatever they get has to have inversions especially that i dont see invertigo around much longer. Especially with the splash boat ride coming down.
They will make sure its not better than Steel Vengeance
All I can say is buy the lantern and go to the son of beast area. It sounds like something is brewing. It sounds like a teaser.
If they build a RMC it should be meaner and crazier than the Original. The same for whatever replaces Vortex

Rivertown Mining Company actually predates RMC. That was the name of the old mining building that was where Diamondback's queue currently sits.
@bigblueamusementproductions wow, I didn't know that! It's still suspicious that they would mention a company with those initials with the Son of Beast teasers. Also, if Kings Island really wanted us to forget about Son of Beast, I don't think they would've included those.
There’s no reason the Vortex plot should still be empty in 2026
Honestly if RMC Son of Beast comes true, I could care less about the Vortex plot. We can only hope and pray.

@@ninjagirl226 The SOB plot is being used....by Banshee. Just because they didn't use all of it doesn't mean they haven't used the land.
@@bigblueamusementproductions Yes but the old station is kind of an eyesore much more than the vortex plot. Also how many years after SOB closed did Banshee open? The answer is 5 which is still a lot.
@@ninjagirl226 It took 5 years bc the park had to consider all the options on what to do with SOB before making a final decision. That's why the coaster sat SBNO for the 2010, 2011, and 2012 seasons before finally taking it down.
On Kings Island missing a vertical drop…. Sirens curse absolutely would’ve been a better fit at KI. If TT2 wasn’t a mess, sirens curse would’ve been in Vortex’s plot of land.
I like the sound of a hybrid coaster. What ever KI does don't even think about SOB. Just make it taller faster longer and the best coaster possibe. Give it its own unique name. Something the opposite of what you'd expect.

If AlpenFury at CW's open is relatively painless I could see KI turning to Premier for a similar inversion focused launch coaster.
An RMC built from the ground up would be the perfect replacement for Son of Beast. I think the perfect name for that would be Son of Beast: Reborn.
All the other options like a Gerstlauer Infinity, or launch coaster from Mack or Vekoma would be great options as well, but not for the former Son of Beast space. Those coasters don't take up that much space. Those would be better options for where Vortex used to sit.
Bringing back Son of Beast at KI is a must. We want RMC to do it though! Not to shoot down other manufacturers but the other coaster options in the this video would be better suited for the Vortex plot of land. Infinity coaster, B&M dive, Vekoma launch could all fit there and the twisting aspect would be good for head choppers. You have to go pretty far outside of Ohio to get another RMC like Steel Vengeance and the US needs another top tier RMC. #RMCSonofBeast2026
I would like to know what your thoughts are on the crate and other teasers like that. I get you are trying to predict what the next coaster type would be. Could you make a video piling up all of the recent teasers regarding Son of Beast?
Dayton area resident here. I would love to see it. I remember how huge it looked from miles away by the Otterbein/Armco Park area. I’d love to see something similar in the skyline again.
....and watch em build 2 coasters in 2026. 😉
I think when they sent out that beast renovation poll they were trying to see if people would like a huge wooden coaster. They certainly won't build a rmc to rival steel vengance. If it does happen it will be a massive wooden coaster.
Son of beast plot will 100% be. A Zadra like hybrid RMC. Any other replacement for SOB would be a let down. The Vortex plot will be the Voltron’s style of ride. It just makes the MOST sense for both replacements

From what I heard the structure wasn’t good, so it wasn’t a option to save it too much money involved to redo with a possible rmc conversion at some point. I believe that’s why they went with banshee.
Supports would had be rebuilt along with track to costly to do.
3/4 of the structure would have to been rebuilt. It was not economical.
It was considered but they declined due to issues also I doubt they would have wanted to start out with the literal biggest wooden coaster in the world

Well yeah, I've been saying for years that Son of Beast has to come back as an RMC. It's the only thing that makes sense this day and age for the park's profile, modern thrills, and the legacy or changing of the guard sort of thing.
The world's tallest, fastest, looping, beyond vertical hybrid coaster. They owe us after Orion being so mild.
Beast’s Revenge would be tough, even though I know a couple roller coasters have revenge in the name🤷♂️
I love B&M, but to be honest I'm getting a little tired of their coasters. I'd love to see Son of Beast reimagined by RMC
This would be interesting if RMC developed a brand new RMC beast that will be amazing to see for the kings island skyline I could imagine now
A Mack Striker coaster is what I want to see at KI next too. It’s a perfect fit.
I would love to see Kings Island get a RMC Topper Track coaster with a vertical loop. It's totally doable. I don't know why they have not built any more since 2016. I guess because of Lightning Rod, but I think the solution is simple.... Don't put a launch on it. I have ridden all of them exept for Wildfire, and they are great rides aside for being a little rough.
I think a GCI hybrid is more likely than RMC. They've released a concept picture of a launched hybrid coaster and that would be an awesome addition to the park. Also helps GCI has a good relationship with the park as mystic timbers has been a great success.
SOB coming back would be awesome. It had so much potential.
Son of Beast should be an RMC period. It should be the most epic RMC ever built. Vortex should be replaced with a RMC single rail to seal the deal.
I mentioned this once before the only company that can build this coaster son of beast is Gravity group of voyager but only bigger
I feel like it would be strange to put three inverting coasters next to each other (banshee, invertigo, new ride) so I assume if they're going to use the vortex plot of land that is where the next inversion coaster would go.

I think that the beat place for a SOB coaster is in the Vortex plot. I know, Vortex was there, but since Kings Island has been focusing on themeing and themed mini-lands with two to three attractions, they could make a Beast area.
Either a record breading Mach Striker or a record breaking RMC hyper hybrid with a height of 218'; a drop of at least 214' and over 5,900' of track.
Please have it be a Mack Stryker coaster or Xtreme spinner for 2026. If they want to break the inversion record like they mentioned in the survey with Gerstlauer Infinity coaster they could pull off a 10 inversion Stryker coaster and that would be amazing. Please Kings Island

RMC, Son Of Beast Reborn!! As much as KI has been Teasing us with SOB, I don’t think it will be the next coaster… but I’m keeping hope alive lol
In my personal opinion, a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster (on the old Son of Beast plot of land) would definitely make the most sense for Kings Island, as their next major coaster.
the coaster was rough. my back was so sore every time i rode it. i believe the new coaster will be a vekoma multi launch with inversions. IMO Vekoma has a for 1 deal with KI. First one was Soapbox and second will be the multi launch.
When you mentioned the hyper wooden coaster with Topper track my heart believed it for half a second. I wanted to think it could happen. I hate to see the Intamin prefab and RMC Topper Track woodie (the official best wooden coaster models) stop at 4 and never be built again.
They could use the station for a coaster that goes towards the amphitheatre and the front gate, too. It doesn't have to go behind Banshee from there.
I would bet dive coaster being likely. B/M is just always reliable and KI loves them.
Knott's is overdue for a coaster and not just a replacement for Montezuma's Revenge.
Ones like the ones you discussed. Work best in the vortex plot. An RMC works best in old SOB plot

Dayton! 👏 When they came out w/ the survey w/ The Beast 2.0 I thought the renderings looked a lot more like a stand alone RMC I-box than an extended version of The Beast.
What does the new management team think if RMC?

So far all I'm hearing is about all of Cedar Fair merger with Six Flags all I'm saying are Cedar Fair Parks gaining all these new rides whereas all the parks of Six Flags rides of being rumored to be either dismantled or closed this is just another way for Cedar Fair the better their parks
If it is RMC, it won’t be a topper track. That model is dead after Lightning Rod’s problems

I personally want a massive Vekoma with a 150 ft lift hill into 2500 ft of track with twists turns and inversions then hit a launch section into a 180ft tall top hat then another 2500 ft of track of airtime hills and twisting in and out of the first half. And I’d want it to be orange/black in color.

Raptor and Banshee are different enough to not be considered the same as it's old B&M vs new B&M.

Mechabeast RMC record breaking hybrid is what is needed. It should be built in the Vortex plot and interact with beast but only in the area of the first Beast drop.

I’m skeptical, but with the merger I think it’s more plausible now, at least as an RMC. I don’t understand the concept of not outdoing CP. if anything it would draw more people into KI and they would visit CP on the same trip.
