Brandon, how are you? Great video as always. Sorry I do not know all the parks like you do because I’ve not been all them but again this is just my opinion, but I respect yours that is if these guys flags in Cedar fare are really competitors why would you merge in my opinion they should be broken up Because if you have more competition when that drive prices down for all of us to consumers? More independent parks and so forth. Also, in my opinion, I don’t think these rides are going anywhere anytime soon, especially Kingda Ka!

100% there would be no point going to Great Adventure when there would be better parks nearby.
I am 1.5 h from Hershey, Great Adventure, Dorney, and SFA. To lose Kingda Ka legit makes Hershey the absolute leader and I’d probably go there more often even though their passes are more and it would only get me into the one park.
The only thing that would give Six Flags the edge at that point would be that I could go to three different parks in my area. But is that worth it when they would in my mind all be second to third tier parks when Hershey is right there?
I’d say only if I’m planning a trip elsewhere but at the moment my mom and sister have done marathons in all the states with a Six Flags park so I probably won’t get to another park (they are trying to do a marathon in every state; I’m trying to get to all Presidents homes priorities have to be made).

@@Patexer I think it’s Debatable without Ka. SFA is out of the picture; I agree it’s a plus of having a six flags pass that I can go there but not a reason to get the pass.
But Dorney has a solid lineup. Steel Force vs Nitro I think is a wash. Medusa vs Hydra is also a wash if not I lean towards Hydra mainly for the pre lift hill inversion. Talon vs Batman is leaning towards Batman but man the low to the ground moments on Talon are cool and it’s a longer ride. The dark night vs Mad Mouse - I’ll give it to the dark night for the pre show but apparently most the effects in the ride are broken so yeah. Thunderhawk vs Runaway mine train are the original coasters; Thunderhawk is more ridable but I enjoy the scenery at Great Adventure.
The random coasters are kind of left at this point with Possessed being not my thing (I don’t like launches or going backwards). And Iron Menace being pretty good minus the last 5 s of the ride; it also feels short. I also will add Dorney has a better flat ride collection. They also were able to complete their 2024 addition and it looks awesome especially right now during Haunt whereas Flash hopefully will be completed next year.
Now Great Adventure had a lot of filler. Yeah they have more but Green Lantern is kind of awful. I don’t think Superman is that good especially compared to Batwing at SFA or Superman at Great America (the trees and music really help). I don’t care for rides like Joker. Harley Quinn is for kids. Skull Mountain is kind of fun especially with the music idk it’s funny to me. Jersey Devil is also legit but I would put it on par with Iron Menace in terms of enjoyment so it doesn’t move the needle.
El Toro is the only ride in that park that really moves the needle without Kingda Ka. But I and also going to comment this; I think that if they remove Kingda Ka for maintenance reasons El toro is next because it’s probably just as much of a maintenance headache and has definitely been a PR nightmare the last few years. People keep complaining that it’s rough and ride ops are shocked to hear it’s my favorite ride in the park because of how rough it is.
But like I said in my first comment I’m more comparing Great Adventure to Hershey. And in that regard Hershey blows Great Adventure away especially without Ka. I’m sorry.
I put SFA as third (bottom), tier Dorney at low second tier, Great Adventure as is at a low first tier (bordering on second tier because to be honest I like King’s Dominion more but I mentally can’t put King’s Dominion in my top tier), and Hershey with as a first tier.

They also are not accountable when they mess up. The reason Cedar Fair stopped working for them was because they did not honor their contracts when parts failed due to design flaws. Generally this would be pro-rated, but if Intamin said a part had an operational life expectancy of 10,000 rides and the part failed before that despite being maintained, they are expected by contract to replace that part on a pro-rated basis at least. Or if a part flew off despite being maintained to their spec and injured someone, they would be expected to share in the liability on some level because either there was a design flaw OR they we incorrect on maintenance requirements. This is ALL included in contracts - but guess what Intamin has not done lately - either of those things.
At Universal they CHARGED Universal millions for THEIR design flaws on Hagrid's and Velocicoaster despite being required to cover it under their contract, at least that is what I have heard. It is why Universal will no longer take bids from them on future attractions. Neither Cedar Fair or Universal wanted to litigate it, but they let others know and decided to end relationships.
So that is why Intamin does not get a shot.
Imagine you just bought a new car. It comes with a 5 year/60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. You maintain it according to the maintenance schedule you received from the manufacturer. You have documented all the maintenance. You have operated it in parameters. At 20,000, the engine fails and needs to be replaced. Instead of honoring the warranty, the manufacturer charges you thousands to rebuild the engine or replace it. Would you do business with them again?
For warranties like that, there are protections in law. For coasters, it is different this has to be built into the contract - but the only way to remedy that is to sue and a company might be vindictive if you sue and stop selling you parts (which I have heard Intamin has threatened for those complaining about this and threatening to sue).
So how much would you want to do business with them and how much would you want to rely on them for parts if a coaster has already achieved 4x or more ROI?

Just imagine, Intamin working to make the ride more consistent, improve the theming in the queue line and loading station, adding lap bars to both sides, and modernize the launch so it would actually hit 100 mph as well as actually going up to the 400ft mark.

Siren's Curse had nothing to do with TT2 - it had to do with getting a paid for coaster up and running as quickly as possible without causing a change in plans for a park. No other park had a space that they can quickly turnaround.
I have my sources too - and I have heard they have a fix with Zamperla that they are confident in. They also love that Zamperla took responsibility - which Intamin usually REFUSES to do. Intamin does not honor their contracts - I have been told this by people from the old Cedar Fair parks, from the United (Sea World) parks, and from Universal. IF they mess up, they charge you for the mess up - at least in the US they do. There are laws in Europe that prevent them from doing that there, but they are no longer liked much in the US because they just do not stand by their products or live up to their contracts.
The reason Cedar Point went with Zamperla is because it was a partnership and Zamperla showed a willingness to be accountable and fix issues, absorbing the costs specified in the contract.
Cedar Fair has had a similar issue with RMC. RMC decided to play the blame game about Steel Vengeance - but they KNEW all the parameters when they signed the deal and agreed to the terms. Then they accuse Cedar Point of numerous issues that they were aware of as a manufacturer before ever signing the deal. RMC and Intamin can choose not to sign those deals, but they didn't. They wanted the prestige.
Zamperla wants to grow. They want to learn. They want to be better and they want to be a good partner to parks. They have been learning from what Intamin has built so they can build and improve upon the designs, but it takes time. The Lightning Trains are first gen - and real world did not agree with the models, so they have had to make adjustments and do real world testing.
Siren's Curse is not a big mover of people. It has decent, not great, capacity. Siren's Curse is a bonus - and they will also have a coaster in 2026, though I hear it is a record setting water coaster to replace Snake River. I have heard it is a Mack, though lately there has been some chatter Premier might be designing it.

You think that’s why even universal seems to have step down from Intamin, almost every coaster in epic universe is a Mack except 1 Intamin family coaster. I really don’t see Kingda Ka going anywhere. At least not as of right now. Perhaps give it 5 or 10 years and we could potentially see the ride close and hopefully be given the TT2 treatment but by a different manufacturer, considering how badly Zamperla messed up with TT2 and how they’re trying to get it fixed (Hopefully they go with S&S).
If Green Lantern is leaving, however, then that could be a perfect opportunity to have the new Kingda Ka be extended into that plot of land, and give it some really unique elements, including what could potentially be the world’s tallest non-inverting loop at around 250 feet. As for Green Lantern, we can have it sent over to Six Flags Darien Lake to replace Viper, after which it would be converted into a Floorless. It replaced an old Arrow looper when it was moved to Great Adventure, so why not have it replace another?
As for Superman: Escape from Krypton, yeah… I think it might have to go. Truth is, it’s not all that impressive to begin with anyway. As for what could replace it, I think a B&M Wing Coaster could fit in rather nicely in that plot of land. Of course, we gotta keep the Superman theme as well. Question is, what name should it be given?

I honestly predict that they'll get rid of Superman since it's been down most of the time for years, (like 5 years ago when I was there) is a shuttle coaster and is actually only a giga shuttle at that since it only goes up 328' up that spike, and it never went much higher since it never went over 100 MPH. However: TT2 or Kingda KA will end any time soon.
TT2 needs another season for a chance at operating with it's large investment, three launches and two gigantic drops, and Kinda Ka has been operating like a charm recently as the world's tallest and currently fastest operating coaster with a hydraulic launch to boot. So for those reasons alone I don't see TT2 or Kinda Ka going anywhere soon, but see Superman @SFMM as being much more likely to be replaced.

This also means Siren's Curse was not a replacement for TT2. I think Siren's Curse is at CP to sell tickets and season passes to those who doubt TT2 will open next year. While your reason for not giving sources is understandable, it also means the "I have sources" claim could be used to bluff. I am NOT saying you are doing that but that some people might.

Cedar Fair should have gotten over themselves and chosen Intamin to reimagine TTD. Inatmin is a proven coaster designer who has gotten even better with time. Instead, they went with the balloon flite manufacturer. 🤪
Again, SFGADv could go a much longer way with the community and make up for their mistake 11 years ago. If they are truly removing Kingda Ka and Green Chang, that leaves plenty of room for Rolling Thunder. It works just as well as a boardwalk coaster as it did a southwest mountain range. Is a giga needed in a park with a hyper, a mini Intamin hyper with wood supports and an RMC raptor? A giga would be as much overkill with the hills as the inversions were here in the 90’s and the park doesn’t have a real wooden coaster.

Why don't they take down kingda ka and go for the record with a T Rex. Why keep a coaster that is yesterdays news. With Falcons flight we need to catch up. A T Rex could be the answer. Yes it is RMC but if we can give zamperla a chance it is time to give RMC another go.

Staffing issues? We've seen nothing yet. But if we keep pushing more and more immigrant out of the country, it will really throw a wrench in the amusement park industry across the board. Thhoosies better keep that in mind when they vote next month. The staffing problems started after the first crackdown in 2017 - way pre-COVID. COVID did make things even worse though.

Its not just impressing the shareholders its also the banks are wanting their debt paid back. Cedar Fair as of March 2024 had 2,500,000,000 in debt that was coming due and Six Flags had around the same but was literally leaning toward bankruptcy a 2nd time. They new company really has to seriously cut its costs and tighten its belt or it could be doom for the entire company.

    • @MCQ-fq6bv
      @MCQ-fq6bv День назад

You literally have no idea what you're talking about. You haven't any idea about business & finance. Cedar Fair was not at all in any financial trouble. No, they didn't have 2.5.B in debt coming due., Their notes were staggered. CF legacy parks were producing record results with their Seasons of Fun model, paying debt down judiciously, they could have been more aggressive in debt repayment, but if you understood finance you would know why they didn't. They also re-instituted their dividend. The only issue with the new company is SF legacy parks.SF was producing poor results, regressed to 2017/18 levels, entertained briefly the notion of selling the land under the parks, which was desperate to even entertain and is a long term death sentence. SF needed this merger b/c they were run by fools. There is a reason the new company is run by Cedar Fair people...CEO, CFO and 10 of the 11 executive team.

My family was at Cedar Point about a week and a half ago. While waiting for the first Halloweekends show I overheard a worker talking with a visitor about TT2. Take this with a grain of salt but what I heard was that when Zamperla built the rollback section they built it 5 feet in the wrong direction. This caused the trains to ride hard as they were effectively having to go sideways up and down the rollback. That would explain the photos that show most of the maintenance being focused on the wheels of the cars. If this is true, then the ride was actually fubar'd on construction and there is no way to get it back up and running without taking the entire rollback section down and relocating it in the proper location. I doubt Six Flags and Cedar Point want to go through with all of that, which gives a ton of credence to the thought that the ride will most likely close for good.

Corporate greed I feel is going to ruin this new Six Flags. I feel It’ll be ran as an investment corporation with high margins because of low levels of new investment. I have fears of horrifically deferred maintenance, poorer conditions for workers (as they look to cut down on what they spend) so on so forth. I just want a corporation that will look out for its clientele and really invest back into what makes their properties rather than just their investors walking away with a lot of money because that’s what the parks already make. What is someone’s options? Usually it’s a six flags park or drop thousands going to Disney or universal.
