It looks cool, but I agree there were so many other parks that needed this ride, and with Cedar Point's immense coaster lineup I think the wiser option would have been to FINALLY add a dark ride to the park.

the funny thing is once tt2 opens everyone is gonna forget about it being closed. it happens so much where people say “only this ride sucks its such a flop” and the and then a year or two later no one cares or even remembers
I kinda feel like the reason they decided to add this to CP over any other smaller Six Flags or Legacy CF parks has less to due with the TT2 situation and more to due with the speed of installation and infrastructure. They probably had very little time to make a decision with Vekoma to make this happen and CP was probably the only park in the chain with the resources and infrastructure to make this all happen in the window they had.

Interesting that it's not going in the plot occupied by Snake River Falls. I was almost certain when they released the teaser, with the theming that it was going there over the water. That part of the park absolutely needs more development, way too much dead space between Millenium and Maverick. Maybe they're saving that plot for something bigger down the road.
This roller coaster is exactly the same as the example coaster model that Vekoma has on their website for this coaster type: so even if this isn’t Energylandias tilt coaster: it’s still a pre designed layout that wasn’t designed for Cedar point. Six flags Mexico was probably looking for a cheap Vekoma to celebrate the parks anniversary, just like what Great adventure tried to do with vertical velocity, and once the plan fell through they shipped it up to Cedar point!
Besides the fact it has the same thing as Valravn where it holds you straight down over the drop and it is placed right next to it, I think it will be different enough besides that to not feel to simular. Also if you look at it, it's not a 90 degree drop, it's more like 85 degrees.
All the Vekoma tilt coasters have 90 degree vertical drops, the park even said it's 90 degrees on their website, so I don't know where you pulled that fact from haha
@@JAXXNCREATED Oh, if you look at the very beginning of the animation, in this video in fact at 0:00, you can see the top of the track of the drop and see its not quite vertical but more around 85 degrees. This had to have been planned atleast over a year ago. As while I was at CoasterMania 2023 me and my brother were looking at stakes in the ground on its plot of land for surveying. At first we thought it was going to be part of an extended layout for TT2 but there was 100% markers in the field near the marina.
Parkitect does consider the tilt track its own block, so you can run 3 trains if you have a break run and transfer track. At that, they can at least get the crane and first layer of the station done, maybe something with the story then 2026 go full tilt with details like what's happened to the STC's at Tripsdrill and Emerald Park (although the first case was due to COVID). Maybe they get a third train in 2026, even if the circuit can't handle it because the tilt track is still too slow compared to Intamin's switch tracks. If it can reset in 30 seconds, 3 trains might work even with negligible capacity increase
Agree on the tilt block, RCT3 and NoLimits also have it as their own block. Why wouldn’t it? It does have to stop the train for 15-20 seconds every cycle, with more security than almost every other block.
The positive g's at the bottom of the main drop look to be crushing, following by a sweet ejector hill. This ride will be fantastic and I am so glad the US is getting some new thrill Vekomas.
Cedar point deserves a complete new roller coaster. Saying they don't is just insane. This is what Cedar point does. I hope they continue to pump them out over the next few years, and dominate the roller coaster market.

There is some deep dive lore to be done on this coaster and how it got to Cedar Point... I agree that the track color and lack of any queue aesthetic is kind of a bummer
It’s bizarre to me that they’re going with a very rare model. Usually that gets sent to some of the smaller parks and then they go large scale. They could have a lot of downtime which isn’t gonna be awesome given dragster.
@@CoasterGaming At the time X flight was built it was a Six Flags park, so different chain. Rapterra isn’t open yet so Gatekeeper definitely came first. The other two wing coasters are at I believe Dollywood and Holiday World, and therefore also not Cedar Fair.
If TT2 is running at the beginning of the season, it will bring a lot of people to ride it. I think Sirens Curse opening mid season is great for CP. The resurgence of people coming back for the new ride in the second half of the season will be great for the park. If all goes well, its exactly what the park needs. CP doesnt stay high on the list as one of the best parks without record breaking new additions. They suffered this year with the issues with TT2, but if the issues with TT2 are resolved, and Sirens Curse launches without a bunch of issues, it could be a record year for Cedar Point and an awesome experience for those of us that visit the park.
In the release video, the train dips underground ~15-20ft. This dip would occur only a few hundred feet from the waters of the Lake Erie marina, which is going to be hard ask to keep the tunnel from flooding that close to the water. It wouldn’t surprise me if they are re-working the supports to raise the track to eliminate the underground portion and prevent an almost guaranteed flood hazard, increasing the height ~20ft. Hence the difference in stats from CP’s published stats and Energylandia’s.
I believe this is the same ride model that vekoma has on their website, it's the cliffhanger model so you can maybe get some stats from that to compare with sirens curse.
This layout could definitely run 3 trains if the maintenance area was extended to hold 2 trains. Moreover, I think the switch track will only be able to start resetting once the train has cleared the first element, as if the train doesn't make it over for whatever reason then the back of the train could possibly roll back onto the switch section. This could also be fixed by placing friction brakes at the bottom of the drop valley boomerang-style so it can start resetting as soon as the train has gone through the brakes.
Not to mention that the black, pink, and green colors of the trains are Raptor's train colors. It looks cool, I'll definitely ride it, but I'm not super excited about it. I'm more excited for TT2.
I think the biggest saving grace of Sirens Curse is how it will free up Mav, SteVe and Millie's lines. Add TT2 in the mix, and next year might be a really fun season at CP. As long as theirs no hiccups after spending so much time and money on putting a new coaster in to bandaid the whole TT2 24' opening debacle...
This looks like an incredible new coaster! Glad for CP! But I gotta say I hoped a coaster record holder of the Americas wouldn't be located in the USA or Canada...
I’ve noticed some comments about capacity, and I just want folks to know that coasters in general aren’t the best way to deal with capacity issues at theme parks. One could argue the biggest flaw with parks like Cedar Point is their over reliance on Roller Coasters. Personally I’d like to see an investment into well themed dark ride attractions with this new company. Haunted Mansion style omni-mover rides that everyone could ride and enjoy. They’re generally less expensive and have high throughput.
While CP advertises itself as an amusement park, its a coaster and thrill park first and foremost. It always has been since the beginning with their first coaster in 1892, so coasters are the selling point. Also it did have a dark ride, and they tore it down. It did have a massive turn around and was the favorite for many, including myself. Disaster Transport, it was alien/space themed.
@@Keyleey I’m sad they tore down such a cool attraction at your park. My home park is SFNE and it’s been around over 150 years way before Six Flags came in. I understand Cedar Point historically has relied on thrills, but that’s not really true for other parks in this new company. People don’t go to Great Escape or Knotts just for the coasters. Most people who go to small/medium sized regional theme parks aren’t coaster enthusiasts/thrill seekers. Their families bringing their kids to a park they went to when they were little. I hope the company understands that dynamic. More than anything my park needs another water ride. All we have is a rapids now after they took out our log flume, and ship wreck falls. Quantum Accelerator looks amazing but we’ve been desperate for other ways to cool off for well over a decade.
@tormentorox1 I stopped attending shortly after it was torn down. Still hoping for another. But the people who do come to CP are thrill seekers, even with families and younger children, there is still camp snoopy. Thrill parks seem to be uncommon in America, so CP shouldn't change as it caters to that market and profits greatly off of it.
well with the "early summer" cedar point dosn't open till early may so i may not be open right at opening but due to cedar point opening a bit later than other parks it still could shortly after park opening this season
As soon as the coaster is released and clears the tilt track it needs to start returning to level. There is no chance of a rollback so it doesn't need to stay vertical.
For some reason I like the way it slots into the line-up as a nice mid size coaster amongst the behemoths around it. If this matches the pacing of something like Lech coaster...I think it could easily be a top 3-4 in the park. Would have been cool to name it Wildcat's Curse 🐅haha...
This announcement was weird, exciting, and brings up so many questions. All in all, I think it’s gonna be a great coaster at cedar point. I just posted an analysis video as well and seems like a lot of people are on the same page about it
This Could run 3 Train just fine. Lift + Tilt will take some time (assuming at least 45s looking at the animation, Tilt isn't fast). And Layout + Clearing the brake is also about 45s. So : 1 Train in the Station / 1 Train Layout / 1 Train Lift + Tilt. You can have 1 Train sending every 45-60s with little to no stacking (if staff can keep up). And that's a solid 1400 - 1900 Rider per hour.
One of my first thoughts was also Kings Island, but then I realized, if this was the tilt coaster going to Energylandia, I think that the Vortex plot deserves to have an original coaster.

2025 is the year for vakoma im calling it now
What’s Vakoma?
I’m offended no block zone breakdown😂😂😂😂
Cedar point deserves a complete new roller coaster. Saying they don't is just insane. This is what Cedar point does. I hope they continue to pump them out over the next few years, and dominate the roller coaster market.
I just can't press the like button to an ElToroRyan video without a block zone definition.
This feel like one of the most Six Flags thing the park could have done tbh
For those of you who are unfamiliar, a block zone is a section of ride that only one train may occupy. At the end of a block zone is a method to stop the train in case the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents roller coaster trains from colliding with one another.
There is some deep dive lore to be done on this coaster and how it got to Cedar Point...
I agree that the track color and lack of any queue aesthetic is kind of a bummer
I think the empty flat piece of land that was pretty much already prepped made this a no brainer.
It’s bizarre to me that they’re going with a very rare model. Usually that gets sent to some of the smaller parks and then they go large scale. They could have a lot of downtime which isn’t gonna be awesome given dragster.
Not always the case. Look at Gatekeeper. It’s the only wing model in the chain I believe.
@@ninjagirl226x flight and Rappterra
@@CoasterGaming At the time X flight was built it was a Six Flags park, so different chain.
Rapterra isn’t open yet so Gatekeeper definitely came first.
The other two wing coasters are at I believe Dollywood and Holiday World, and therefore also not Cedar Fair.
@@ninjagirl226 Still, the chain usually looks at models after they're built elsewhere. On top of that it's Vekoma.
@@reiemg Modern Vecoma’s are doing very well in Europe. I believe there are tilt coaster internationally as well so this isn’t a prototype model.
Long time viewer, first time caller. What is a block zone? Thats a new concept to me.
I didn’t understand anything when he was talking about block zones. Can someone explain it to me?
Really thought it would be a Mack water coaster. I ain’t see one person predict a tilt coaster
2026 - That was likely the plan all along. This is just a bonus that popped up - a "free" coaster of sorts after the merger and fail at SFM.
Cotaland: we are going to have the first tilt coaster in America
Cedar point:hold my soda…
Humans have been building literal underwater tunnels for over a century. I’m pretty sure a slightly recessed concrete trench will be just fine.
You wouldn't redo the supports that have already been manufactured. If anything, you would just make the footers taller.
Or just let it flood, and then Cedar Point finally gets the water ride we all expected
"OK riders, when you hear the siren say IM TAKING YOU DOWN, you need to hold your breath and close your eyes"
Ummmm. Then you would need to adjust the supports and track….
Great video Ryan thanks ❤
Alpen fury, sirens curse, stardust racers, and so many more. 2025 is gonna be a great year
wrath of rakshasa too
@Ben.L0v3sJesus yeah that too I guess
I must say that I haven’t been this surprised by a CP announcement since Maverick.
same!
The one being built at 6 flags qiddiya is going to be a hyper. Interesting that CP wont have the record.
“Uniquely Sized Guests”
No Block Zone Definition?!
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO RYAN IMPOSTER!
Not to mention that the black, pink, and green colors of the trains are Raptor's train colors. It looks cool, I'll definitely ride it, but I'm not super excited about it. I'm more excited for TT2.
Cedar point needed to redeem themselves for the TT2 mistake. It would be pretty cool if they can open TT2 and sirens curse in 2025
My very first comment was I wished it was purple! Great minds 🤓 looking forward to another amazing coaster at the point!
@@Keyleey I understand that. I just know that not every park is Cedar Point. I hope they don’t do a one size fits all approach.
@@Keyleey and you can do thrilling dark rides.
Circuit breaker at COTAland has completed the tower for the tilt track. Thats it. It looks massive
They should have added this to Michigan's Adventure. That park needs some coaster love.
I agree that it definitely needs to embrace the "lore" by utilizing a smart color scheme and prop layout, similar to Banshee at King's Island.
I agree with your choice about the block zone definition. Don't let them turn your whole channel into a gimmick.
Great video like always! 🎢👌 so glad to have this only 4 hours from me. Cedar Point is getting better and better with each add on!
well with the "early summer" cedar point dosn't open till early may so i may not be open right at opening but due to cedar point opening a bit later than other parks it still could shortly after park opening this season
I bet the taller spec is bc it won't actually go under ground since CP is surrounded by water
So :
1 Train in the Station / 1 Train Layout / 1 Train Lift + Tilt.
You can have 1 Train sending every 45-60s with little to no stacking (if staff can keep up). And that's a solid 1400 - 1900 Rider per hour.
I want more info on tilt coaster and the mechanics of how they work and the failsafes that keep the train on the track during the switch
One of my first thoughts was also Kings Island, but then I realized, if this was the tilt coaster going to Energylandia, I think that the Vortex plot deserves to have an original coaster.
ETR you can’t deny us the block zone juice!
Yo it’s Wavy Arm Guy!! 2:06
Valleyfair! Would’ve loved this coaster
I was definitely thinking the track should’ve been purple
