ITV1 idents - 2006 (Clean and Full)

- Although today should've been the day that ITV was reverting back as ITV1, apparently it has been delayed to the 15th, so just for the sake of it, here is a selection of the ITV1 idents shown here in full and announcerless from the short-lived "Emotions" era from January to November 2006.
I do not own all of them, all copyright goes to ITV plc and Red Bee Media.

I’ve recognise that ident for itv 1 many years ago
It feels so weird listening to the ident at 0:30 without hearing "This is Channel Television. ITV in the Channel Islands."
I don't know why, but I like these idents as the ones that came after them. Something about how they can change seemingly from fun and happy to sad and sombre is what I think makes a good TV ident. Specific genre channels are obviously an exception.

There are 10 actually (because I didn’t include Sadness) And those were used from January-November 2006.

I wonder what 3:00 was used for, I can't imagine it was used much given its rather sombre tone. my favourite ident out of this whole set tho
I think it was mainly used for dramas, and sometimes late night programming.

0:30 is it me or does the music sounds like Blur’s The Universal?

How come these idents didn’t last long? Did they get backlash?
Apparently, the ITV board didn’t like them, they thought they were dull, I think the viewers found them rather annoying, especially the ‘Love’ ident, where the music sounds like a siren. They were eventually replaced on 13th November by ‘the second phase’ along with some modifications in April 2010. That look lasted until the 2013 rebrand.
The second phase were much better - one of my favourites in fact. The jingle was relaxing and the shot were beautiful to look at. The night shots always reminded me of the occasional long car journey to meet my family. I hope the ITV have a rethink of their recent rebrand, the current idents are too generic and stale. The concept of having people doing stuff is so outdated now.

It was just specially composed for the ident.
how come they were axed when they only lasted half a year
I think it was because the ITV board didn’t like them, as they were quite dull, as such, they were replaced after 10 months with the “second phase” which were used from November 2006 until January 2013.
@@nikobellic478 i mean, The Idents Used between November 2006 and January 2013 are the best Idents that ITV has ever used (well, to me but i am not sure about anyone else)
