Impressive as they are. I wonder if the plan was to have the "ITV" Branded Idents for Networked/National Programmes (thus ditching the regional names for the most part) and only have the "Regional" Branded Idents (with the Regional Broadcaster Names) for Regional News/Programming?
They were leaked (not sure by who) and circulated pretty widely probably about ten years ago. A lot more have surfaced since then, there's a big batch of them on TVBits' channel.
Actually it is 1999. The previous idents finished in 1998 as one or two regions,one up here in Scotland included,were still using the 1989-1998 idents until they got replaced in 1999
@@markc8956 I think what they mean is that work started on the hearts rebrand in 1998 (but due to constant revisions it took until late 1999 for the rebrand to happen, I think all in all there were about 4 versions created)
This does a better job fitting the "Television from the Heart" slogan they had at the time than the final version.
Must say, I love the music on these versions, moreso than the one they did use.

The music in these ones is so much better than the actual idents, especially the Business one. And I didn't even exist in this era.
Why couldn't these have be used in '99 instead of the ones we had? They're far more superior.

The Train one makes me think of Nick Angel and his peace lily in Hot Fuzz!
The music train one feels kinda like a Japanese TV ident.
A version was made for Granada (shown at the end) and LWT.

Those rotating heart symbols were used by Carlton, in their 1999 "Hearts" ident package.
I'm curious to know how this would have worked with the regions. Would their logo have been where the ITV logo was?
If they used these, then ITV would of gained more viewers
But don't have the regional indicator.
