Can’t praise the major and minor caged gyms enough! Anyone reading this that hasn’t checked them out needs to go there next. Those and the Hendrix player study will demystify the fretboard and add so much to your playing so quickly it’s almost like cheating! If you’ve ever struggled with roots, third, fifth, etc. those are for you!
@@dvs87 yes this course and Hendrix but also look for two additional courses. One titled major caged and another called minor caged (both 20 lesson lengths). The beginner and intermediate lead and electric also set you up for the frusciante and Hendrix courses but the 2 caged and Hendrix frusciante all mirror and expand on the same constellation of skills/theory. As a roadmap for where to look after these I would say blues 1-3, SRV, Cory Wong, funk, Page all build on various aspects of what you learn in those 4.

Hi Dion Im really struggling to get all strings rining out when attempting the "thumb over the neck" technique. Either the high strings ring out but my thumb isnt in a position to reach around or my thumb makes the bass string but i seem unable to get my hand round far enough to fret the high strings properly, resulting in muted notes and fingers cramped up covering multiple strings. I dont think i have particularly small hands but theyre not huge either. Any advice would be hugely appreciated 🙏
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your struggle with the "thumb over the neck" technique. It can be a challenging technique to master, but with practice and some adjustments, you'll get there! The best thing to do is to take things slowly and practice this technique regularly. but be sure to take breaks if it becomes painful, too! Within time, you'll notice the strength in your hand will improve and you'll get closer to mastering this technique.

Ohh, failed already with the C shape A major chord, could i play this elsewhere on the neck with a different shape?
i struggled with the C shape too ! going to keep trying, might take me a long time, good luck hope you get it
@@susandaniels4879 I should have waited to comment as in the 2nd lesson the C shape starts on the 4th fret which is much more do-able.
Im struggling doing the first A chord, my index finger is muting the high E string.
Any tips to get uses to this shape easier?
