@@GeneTracy81 Nice song. I never heard it before as I haven't seen Pete's Dragon. Helen is a very good singer. I first heard I don't know how to love him by her and it was great. Then I heard it by Yvonne and was blown away. Yvonne to me has an "IT" quality. Some kind of magic when she sings it. I just listened to them both again. Helen has a bit of a nasal quality to her version. Yvonne's is more pure. More clean.
@@TristanandIsolt I agree with you. Nobody can sing it like Yvonne. So many renditions of this beautiful song, sung by super talented singers. Yvonne Elliman has the most heart wrenching version of them all.

The plagiarism of Lloyd Webber speaks for itself....having said that, any novice could recognise his tempo is terrible 😢 I know this after Bareilles first note...and I’m such a novice
Amazing. Sara kills this. Love everything about this.
One of THE greatest songs in musical history.
She is without any doubt THE prime female singer of this age.
Stupenda canzone, per me la più bella canzone d'amore di tutti i tempi, e stupenda interpretazione piena di feeling...
Commovente... Bravissima 😘
THIS GURL IS THE REAL DEAL!
So much feeling in every single note she sang. Wow...
Hauntingly beautiful
Great version, beautiful. Imagine singing it in front of Andrew Lloyd Webber and HE'S plating the piano, WOW!
Wow. Just wow. I’m so partial to the Yvonne Elliman version but SB is so special and seeing her paired with Webber, Wow! Thanks for this.
Sara is just amazing as a singer, so touching,
A beautiful voice, a beautiful song.
Absolutely perfect cover of this beautiful song.
Sara is the only Mary Magdalene who measures up to Yvonne, in my opinion.
Would have to agree !!!
Google Sinead O’Conner’s version. Fantastic.
Well now'
The song. The singer. The Superstar.
Das Lied gefällt mir sehr gut ich bin ein sehr großes Fan von Sara 😘😗
She sings this song beautifully!
WOW!!! Perfect, fabulous, magic. So beautiful...
OMG this is a beautiful rendition
She is a gifted singer. Makes you realize how crazy gifted Helen Reddy was.
Helen was very good, but she couldn't hold a candle to the original singer of this song Yvonne Elliman.

@@GeneTracy81 LOL I just got your joke. I said couldn't hold a candle and you replied with the song about a candle. I was slow on the uptake.
she's immaculate!
yess big thumbs up she makes it her own
So simple, so perfect!
Once again, she is connecting us with the divine (using Salman Rushdie's expression). Only the best can do that.
WOW! Thanks for posting this Richard!!! :D
She has a beautiful voice
I can't carry a tune myself
Fantastic. What a talent.
No problem with being an atheist and liking this, always loved that musical
Talented woman from a great family in Eureka, a small town in far Northern California.

What a Song. What a Version
Breathtaking 😍
how is this so much better than the published recordings of the show!?
GOAT
Sara Bareilles. She is Mary Magdalene. “SHOUTING OUT LOUD” “I LOVE U JESUS”🙏

Balsamo sul cuore
Gawd. Dayum.
does she tour, she is the next celine dion.
She's no Helen Reddy, but not bad. Not bad at all. Much better than Yvonne Eleman's version from the movie.
SB smoked Helen!
“I’ve loved so many men in so many different ways.”. Probably should’ve left that part out. She belongs to da streets!
Mary Magdaline was a prostitute, but was forgiven for her past sins by Jesus himself. So the lyrics is appropriate.
Not bad, Yvonne’s is truly great in the movie, but that’s still only the second best version. Helen Reddy’s will always be the best.
The only singer that sings it as good as from the movie (Yvonne Eliman)
Yvonne was on Broadway too she was the original
Fantastic post! Thanks
