  • Hello and welcome to Badger Workshop. I like to be able to pull out my drill so I made a mobile base for it.

Hi Matt from Down Under. I was so amazed that the ply was strong enough for the castors. I held my breath thinking they would break off. Very good solution. The castors are really excellent. Good onya mate, Brian

I do like your new workshop and the way it is coming together. Having your floor mounted pillar drill mobile is great and I agree those adjustable feet are very handy. Another nice build Matt, well done!

Very nice job. Really useful for any shop. Hopefully you get great use out of it my friend. For many years to come my friend. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep making. God bless.

nice design, but a bit scary to put all this weight on 8 small screws. I think I would use some 8-10mm all the way through bolts, with countersunk heads at the bottom, and nuts on top.
but hey, if it drops from 1 cm to the floor, it's not a big deal.

Hi Matt, that was a great idea for the drill press, when do you think you will start on the new workshop? I am looking forward to that series, take care and keep safe and well.

Hi, I am a Yorkshire lad born and bred so the price of those castors at £32:00 for a set of four is too expensive for my taste, but I did find some other things that I liked and will probably get.

I took a look and the ones I found that looked similar to the video were £25 each, so £100 for 4. I would have been delighted with £32 for a set of 4.....

@@molydood sorry i cannot add up £15:00 each = £60:00. That is still a grab sort of £100:00, but too rich for my pocket.

I just finished making a mobile base for my drill press. The wooden base on mine is a little different, but the casters are the same type but maybe a different model or brand. What I noticed with mine is that the drill press is rather stable while rolling on the casters, but noticeably less stable when sitting on the casters' leveling feet. There didn't seem to be too much play in the leveling feet when I examined them after unboxing, but now that it is all done I see that the casters I purchased are a problem for this application. Have you noticed this issue with yours?

Nice work matt! What was that little 15cm ruler with a stop on it? Looked like a honing guide

At 1:27 did the board move and mean the blade almost hit the bench dog?
Also, didn’t you have a Festool tracksaw before? Is there a story to be told about its disappearance?

WDS have a very clunky site. Searches for both "casters" and "castors" can come with zero - other times you can find many products. I think the product code is WDS12198 because I saw them once - but you can't search on product code anyway :-( Matt, any chance you can give them a poke?
