      Yup it was $350!! I was in shock! I found it on my local classified ads. I changed the battery and lubed the gasket. It is definitely genuine (I thought at that price it was gonna be a fake). The guy just never wore it and wanted to get rid of it.

    Have this exact watch with the same strap swap out, ironically. I love this as a daily driver. Most comfortable set up I’ve found for my wrist. Highly recommend.

      Absolutely agree! Critical to that and hardly ever mentioned is the fact that it doesn’t rattle at all! No rotor to feel and it’s built dead solid. Very reassuring presence on the wrist. Be on the lookout for some new Tag Heuer acquisitions and reviews in the near future!

    Hello mate, thanks very much for the video, I’m thinking of buying this watch myself, could I ask you a question that is impossible to find on the web- what is the dial size? The actual dial from inside edge to inside edge of the bezel? It would be so helpful if you could let me know, if not thanks anyway 👍🏻

    • @soundsoserious
      @soundsoserious  11 дней назад +1

      Argh don’t have this one any longer to make a measurement! I will tell you that the dial is a nice large size and highly legible. It’s also very proportional in that the watch doesn’t seem like “all dial” when on the wrist. The lovely bezel helps with that. I would say this concern regarding dial diameter shouldn’t sway your decision. At under $1000 you will have a great watch. At under $750 it’s a screaming bargain. Under $500 you’ve committed a crime. Strong buy is my advice.

      @@soundsoserious thanks loads for the info, very helpful indeed, yeah I was wondering if it’s all dial but you say no with the bezel, I was wondering if it’s comparable to my Seiko SKX in dial diameter, the bezel and the crown are 2 of the things i absolutely love the look of, definitely a bit of me that, thanks loads for taking your time to give a great and informative reply, appreciate it a lot, good luck with the channel, I’ll sub right now 😁👍🏻

    No, i bought a 43mm chronograph version, it's not 22mm or 21mm. It's 21.5 which is annoying, i bought 22mm leather strap need to squeeze in but stuck on the spring bar, i bought barton strap 21mm and it has a tiny gap at the lug as well.. weird lug size..

    • @soundsoserious

      Ugh I didn’t know the width on the new ones were an odd size too. That’s frustrating!

    • @soundsoserious

      Try a Barton 22mm rubber strap using the 21mm spring bars. That should work.

    • @wans5885

      @@soundsoserious might try it on next purchase, but the strap come with quick release spring bar fiture so you know.. hard to swap the spring bar since it's fit perfectly on the strap, unless you want to cut the rubber/leather to remove the spring bar

    • @soundsoserious

      Ah ok I understand your concern; but the rubber is stretchy enough that you can remove the spring bar and put the shorter one in WITHOUT cutting or damaging the strap!

    Hey sound! Excellent video. One question, I’m planning to buy the stainless steel bracelet, do you recommend the 20mm and use the original pins from the rubber band of the watch? Thabks!

    • @soundsoserious
      @soundsoserious  2 года назад +1

      Wait! I do not think an aftermarket bracelet will easily fit this watch. A 20mm bracelet will definitely not fit. A 19mm would BUT there is such little room between the lug holes and the case it would have to be a very thin one. The best recommendation I can give you is that if you want the bracelet….buy it that way. If you have one already then I’d say you’re better off selling your strap version and buying an “upgraded” bracelet model. Buying the bracelet from TAG is going to be too expensive.

      Gracias for the message! I don’t speak Spanish but based on google translate I think you are asking about a shorter strap? It’s a Barton Elite silicone strap from Amazon….but there’s the tricky part. You need the 20mm strap. The lug width is 19.5mm so the pins included with the strap will not work. You can remove them and use the pins that come with the watch….OR buy an extra 19mm Barton strap and use those pins in the 20mm strap. Confusing I know. :(

  • @andreibreusov2059

    I think that the only TAG worth buying is that square thing that Steven McQueen was wearing in Le Mans. Talking about this particular item I believe that is rip-off... Even if you are lucky and you get for 500 bucks, it is still a raw deal. The watch looks OK, but there is nothing special about it. TAG puts a cheap quartz movement inside, the case, the strap look very simple and cheap as well and then they make you pay throught your nose for that. How much do you think it is worth to make that watch? Thanks god that they did not cut corners more and did not put Hardlex instead of sapphire. However, judging by the approach they are taking this would have been a very logical step. The whole branding approach of TAG today is just using their heritage and reputation of having created few iconic watches in the past just to empty the pockets of their clients by selling a very mediocre product (with some exceptions like the square thing). By the way, the best watch that I saw in the review was the one you were wearing in the beginning, but sadly you took it off... :)

    • @soundsoserious
      @soundsoserious  2 года назад +4

      Thank u very much for the thoughtful response! I always appreciate passion for watches, even if it’s the opposite of mine. FWIW I think TAG makes a good looking and approachable Swiss Made watch. There are so many good options out there and if this isn’t the right one for you then there are plenty of others. It’s a little unfair to say that Heuer only uses their heritage to sell watches though, basically ever brand does this right?

    • @andreibreusov2059
      @andreibreusov2059 2 года назад +1

      @@soundsoserious Hallo. Honestly I have major respect for TAG. That is exactly why I am so disappointed when I see them trying to make a quick dollar without putting too much effort into developping the product that they sell. I believe that at a thousand dollar price point you have to give more than just TAG and SWISS MADE written on the dial. This is my opinion, no disrespect to anyone wearing this watch...

    • @soundsoserious

      Understood and I don’t disagree. Sometimes it’s hard to fight the good fight when one of your favorite brands misfires. I’ve had to keep a stiff upper lip with brands like Breitling, TAG, & Panerai more than a few times. 😅
