I must add my 1976 6306 Turtle keeps time around +2 seconds per day much better than my New Turtle.
Amazing! Has it ever been serviced?
I'm pretty sure the bezel on your 6309 is not original, which maybe is why you were having issues turning it. It should turn fairly easily in both directions if original.
Noted. Thanks.
Dude! I'm digging how you stay on a tight shot of your arms and watch as you're providing commentary. I might use this format for my future watch reviews. I have this exact watch btw. Love it!
Thank you! Most reviews fail to show the actual watch in action lol. I love this TAG. And you have reminded me to get another video out!

I picked one of these up for similar price last year. Such a great watch. Mine came with the Pro II bracelet that I think they made for last 2 years of the 2002-2008 run. You touched on everything I love about the watch. 1000 meters water resistance, titanium, unique chrono movement and cosc certified superquartz movement. And in a classic Breitling style. For me, I actually consider these Chrono Avenger series, including the autos, an iconic Breitling style. Just like the Bentleys. I always remembered the Avengers being paired with crews working with Harrier jets on aircraft carriers being the professional "working tough" watch vs others being pictured with just regular jets or luxury jets. They just looked so macho and rugged. With the waffled cut chrono pushers and grenade style crown. Never thought I'd consider getting one someday being 44mm and 17.2mm thick but I wear all sizes now and it wears surprisingly small due to the curved down lugs and smaller dial. Like a 42-43mm really. Love the watch and great review.
Really enjoyed reading your comments! These older SQ Breitlings represent the very best of this company and I really wish they would go back to making simple tool watches as opposed to some of the stuff they make now. The bracelet was very finicky to size but once done it’s drapes perfectly. Check out my Aerospace review too! Another classic.
L2L size?
Love this one! Magnum PI!!! And I love the anidigi one too. Looks great on you btw 😊
Thank you very much! 🌴
I was considering both, but I’m leaning more to the 556 A RS because I love a splash of red 🖍️ Great review by the way and thank you for sharing Are both Watches the same size? The 556 A looks larger than the 556 I I’m looking at a preowned 556 A RS, I’ll find out in a couple of weeks if the 38.5 mm looks good on my 7.5 inch wrist
556 is a classic in all its variations and the A RS is a good choice! Both watches are the same size but you see how different they look. Congrats!
@ well I just got my Sinn 556 A RS and I have to say I love this watch! 🔥
Awesome review and thank you We don’t mind me asking, what size is your wrist? I usually wear 40 mm, 42 mm or larger, I am looking at a preowned 556 A RS and my only concern is a 38.5 mm… looks good on your wrist….
Thanks! My wrist is 6.25in but the watch looks “proper” on a larger wrist as well.
@@soundsoserious well you are correct I just got my Sinn 556 A RS and I have to say I love this watch! 🔥 It looks and feels amazing on that H-Link bracelet
So, it seems it will fit my 6.5 inch wrist as LTL is 50mm on this watch, other reviewers said lug to lug as 51.8
My wrist is a bit smaller and you can judge the size.
Lord this is hard to watch with your constant thumbing over the glass to “clean”. White gloves next time Bruv?!
🧤🧤
The finger smudging was quite tilting. Lol. Please use a cloth or dont smudge at all. I can imagine a lot of people being ticked off by it, haha.
Thanks lol, a lot of people have been ticked off by it.
This is nice, but at this price point I think the B&M Riviera is an all-around better value for a Genta-inspired piece.
Had to look that one up and yes it’s a nice watch, but I don’t know if it plays in this space. The hypothetical situation you have to successfully navigate is as follows: a beautiful stranger compliments your watch and asks “what kind of watch is that?” You demurely reply: oh this thing? Thank you so much, it’s a BVLGARI and I’ve always liked the design. I guess I’ve always been attracted to <insert witty yet self deprecating comment here regarding your unique style>. (Mutual laughter ensues, etc. etc.).
CWC SBS is the best one 👍🏽
Great option!
Until it gets scratched!
Fantastic review. You have me sold im getting one of these haha.
lol right on! 😈
what type of NATO is that? do you have a link it looks great on this watch!
Argh! Not sure! It was one out of the grab-bag of NATO straps I have laying around. It’s funny, the watches come and go but a good NATO I could never get rid of lol.
This was helpful for me; though most likely I will eventually get both versions….thanks!
I’m glad it was useful. And of course your solution is the only logical one. 🫱🏼🫲🏽
I have one and it’s my daily watch now. It’s a great watch. Bracelet is perfection.
Good to hear that! It’s such a great watch and you’re right, the bracelet is key. Would you opt for a date complication if you had the option?
@@soundsoseriousactually I don’t. It’s a watch I don’t want to fuss with. If it’s been off the wrist I just want to wind the watch and be on my way. Plus the dial looks symmetrical without a date getting in the way.
It’s pronounced Zinn
Zank you.
Ds 30 for me ❤
As I get older I’m inclined to agree.
Interesting take about "jewelry" of Rolex, I mean, that model with lot of polishing is indeed very jewelry, which can be read like cheapness, meanwhile quality of that "jewelry" is on top, so it's weird, mixed feelings, and for that amount of money you don't wanna have anything "mixed", you have to be sure about your watch, in that case, so I definitely going to vote for AT. I guess original OP would be more suitable for versus basis, cause OP is more tool-ish.
Appreciate the comment. These watches are so similar yet so different. The Rolex is “brighter” and more sparkly while the Omega is a bit of that but more restrained overall. Neither are tool watches per se but either could withstand any amount of abuse you like. Both have their place in a collection though, great pieces!
Honestly they have more unique watches, they're specific on their neo-vintage models, that one is just very mid.
Appreciate that. I liked the watch for what it was but somehow expected “more” out of it. Ultimately it kind of was…just a a watch with an interesting dial. Ironically, that’s basically what all watches are anymore. I’d definitely get another one from this brand should the opportunity arise. The price is right and the quality is a little better than you expect.
Thanks for sharing, great upload 👍
My pleasure! Check out my MR-G video!
You’ve seen enough trends. Yet this is one of very few brands that has been doing its own in-house thing for ages. This is all but trend . Shows what you know
Appreciate the reply! Check out some of my other reviews. 👍🏽
I wish lugs were shorter.
I agree, this makes the watch wear much larger.
Panerai !!!
Yeah, easily. 🤘🏽
5:23 "It doesn't make any sound like a quartz watch."
I reject the premise of your title. I've never heard of Hamilton watches being overrated. I've been a proud owner of the original Interstellar watch since 2014 and have admired the Hamilton brand ever since. Many fine watch collections within this brand, and not just the Aviation and Field Khakis. Very underrated watch brand IMO.
Uhh, it was a reference to the Broadway play of the same name. But I agree with everything you said.
@soundsoserious too witty
I'm so glad those big watches are back in style.
Me too!
The frame of reference someone has to have to consider a Miyota 90 series movement a ‘below-average throwaway’ and +1 minute a day ‘expected’ for $500 is baffling to me. Assuming their quoted range is a 95% confidence interval then +1 minute a day would put it in the 99.99th percentile for that movement - a definitive error. Even if I was swimming in Rolex money and had never deigned to dabble below that tier previously I wouldn’t casually accept _clearly_ anomalous performance out of something I paid $500 to obtain.
As someone who uses a leaf blower to make a path through the mounds of Rolex money every morning just to get to the kitchen for a cup of coffee…meh.
Stuff hippy sustainability, give me the titanium strap everytime
Yep the 36mm looks perfect.
Thanks!
Hello and merry Christmas! Do you happen to know if this model is discontinued? I am interested in this black version but i only see the green one available in their website.
Yes I think these were discontinued in favor of their Field line? If that’s true it’s a pity because they make much more sense as a smart dressy watch than a field watch.
@@soundsoserious yes i am afraid that's true and that mean i should move quickly. Thank you for the response! Cheers
Nice review and awesome watch, but bro, you gotta shave those unbelievably hairy arms. Get rid of all that body hair.
Honestly... anything below 7inch just go for medium, otherwise watch will look like its overtaking your wrist and looking like a little TV on your wrist. Consider lug to lug and your wrist length side flat. Consider large if it's longer than 6cm flat and 7inch or bigger. Otherwise check the number of links on each side of the lugs. If you can see 3 links each on large to the top and bottm. Go for large! Thats 6 links visible from the birds eye view from the top. Then its perfect! Anything less, then consider best to consider medium. Dont compromise the style over presence. If you are after presence, there other better brands such as rolex or panerai and such. Its like a guy with 6inch wrist asking will i fit and look good in 44mm panerai? Hell no...just go cartier santos medium or tank.... if you got 7inch above? Consider santos large...base line for optimal look is 7inch...sometimes what you want to believe is different to what you look best in.
Appreciate the honesty, honestly.
Thanks for the introduction. But sorry buddy, first of all, the 200M rating on this watch is an OFFICIAL certification for scuba diving. This is a completely different testing procedure than simply throwing a watch into a pressure cylinder and then turning it up to, for example, 100 bar (1000M). You can trust this Citizen 'Kraken' with your diving time and therefore your life during a scuba dive. And it is precisely for this reason that everything on the bezel, which you described as "completely useless", is kept as dark as possible except for the luminous dot covered with sapphire crystal (!). In a tricky situation 20 to 30 meters below the surface of the water, in which your life can depend on decisions made in seconds, you don't need and, above all, don't WANT to have an illuminated Christmas tree on your wrist, but rather the set target time (luminous dot on the bezel) and the current elapsed time (illuminated minute/second hand). Illuminated fireworks such as those on a Zelos Hammerhead (great watch) might be a nice party gag, but in the Reality of a diver they are simply confusing to extremely dangerous. Just my 2 c. Greetings from Germany 🫶🙂
Thank you for the thoughtful reply! This is certainly a nice watch and has some practical features, but ultimately there are better options if you actually need it for diving. Check out some of my other videos for some examples! Auf Wiedersehen!
I just received mine on a rubber polyurethane strap,I swapped out the strap with a aftermarket quick release silicone strap. I don't like the original strap. I purchased mine from eBay brand new and never used. It was refurbished buy citizen for $389.00. I would not pay retail, to expensive. Really love the unique design of the watch !
@@danielcordero2282that’s an insane price! Congrats!
Yes, I got a great deal for the watch. I think citizen watches are over rated & over priced. My watch is definitely worth $400.00 dollars
I like the U1 that's 44mm and has a blue dial. I have a Tudor Pelagos FXD in black and it's a really nice watch but you're limited to NATO straps and it's more expensive.
U1 is a much better watch than this, no argument from me. Tudor feels a little too luxe frankly.
I wished they kept the dial more busy like the previous model as the lume pips are really too tiny to be markers. other than that its an excellent watch
I think this is a reason why the 39 works better than the larger versions: less blank space on the dial. But yeah, excellent watch.
What’s your opinion on the White one? Do you think it would show wear and dirt?
The white pen? 🤔
I have the BP as well. The deployant should be opened by pulling from the sides of the clasp, not by pulling from the top as you do at 2:43. If you pull from the top, you'll pull it out of the strap hole. I used to do the same mistake!
Thanks for the info! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
"Self defense tool", love it😂🤣
🤜🏼💀👻
The new one is too big.
I want the red version
That one looks very cool!
I have a small wrist like you and have the 39. It’s small and compact but a perfect fit and the dial layout is superb. I’d do a 40 mm if possible.
Awesome! I like the dial on the 39 best of all, the markers have a jumbo look to them.
Hi thank you for the review - i’m thinking of buying this but since its really old (looking at a may 2013 dated) will i run into issues on long run ? Do i need to service this thing ? 😢
I think it comes down to what kind of price you’re getting it for. Many of these old hand wind Panerai have never been serviced and are still going strong; but the possibility of a service is always there. If the price is right though you will get a great watch regardless of whether it needs to go for service (in which case you’ll get back a basically new watch!).
