Steve camp once said " don't tell them Jesus loves them until you're ready to love them too"

Having been an appreciator of Steve Camp back in his Eight Track days, hearing this breaks my heart. I always found his music back in the day so encouraging and heart reaching that it is difficult to read this. I guess that I feel he should have stayed a musician. I have very dear friends, a Muslim Family, who owned a home they leased to my family members in 2013. When the Boston Marathan happened, they came by our home & planted a beautiful rose bush. At Christmas, they gave us a gorgeous poinsetta that lasted far longer than it should. All I can say is that I pray for Steve, that he might again become the kinder & gentler person I saw and loved in his music.

Totally agree I loved his truth thru his music in the 80s and 90s but in recent years he has become just like most other evangelicals believing in judging and throwing stones at what he was singing against in his music ministry!

Hello sir. I have never heard of you or your ministry (Kiwi here) but stumbled upon this clip. I just wanted to say that your points are all valid in regards to people being unloving towards the people they purport to be trying to reach. Really appreciated hearing your view (despite your obvious frustrations which I sympathise with).

Steve Camp was in a panel Q and A one time with James White and Camp said that Thomas Aquinas was not a saved man. At that moment I thought, “never take this man seriously”. Fortunately, White knew better by showing restraint in not condemning one of the greatest theologians the church has ever known.

@@robreich6881 I love quoting the church fathers of the first 1500 years of church history to reformed christians. Ya know, church fathers who believed that the eucharist was a sacrifice, that priests offered the Eucharist at church services, that saints in heaven prayed for those on earth, that almsgiving atones for sins, infant baptism, the perpetual virginity of Mary, that Mary intercedes for those on earth, that Mary is Mother of God, that there is a 3 tiered ecclesiastical structure of bishop, priest and deacon. It makes reformed Christians wonder why God would predestine his church to preach false theology for 1500 years. 😂

@@andnowthis8139 Yeah, like Clement’s letter to the Church in Corinth where he uses the term bishop and presbyter interchangeably, speaks of a plurality of bishops in the Church, etc. etc. Where it is demonstrated there was no monarchical episcopate in Rome in the first century.
I know all your bullshit nonsense dude.
In fact I am sure you’d get an F in any early Christianity class if you spout nonsense like the perpetual virginity of Mary has a early church provenance (unless you consider the gospel of Thomas a good source)
But how this excuses the fact that Rome openly decided to ditch the teachings of Augustine, Anslem, Aquinas, etc. on predestination and grace out of spite (because Reformed people held to the Augustinian teaching) and in submission to semi-pelagian Jesuits who preached nonsense like Mollinism is beyond me. It proves, shows every sincere Christian how deficient the Roman magisterium is to answer any theological question that is based in scripture.

@@robreich6881 Haha! I can tell I hit you in a soft spot. Want me to quote saint Ignatius to you? He wrote around the year 110 A.D. saying that the congregation should be subject to the bishop, the presbyters , and the deacons (Ignatius to the Ephesians 5:7).

@@andnowthis8139 How that proves that there was a monarchical episcopate in Rome is beyond me. Most historians think it originated in Anatolia and spread out from there. The historical evidence still destroys root and branch the entire Roman edifice of Papal primacy. The sore spot is Roman arrogance in light of how much I know of how Rome has spat in the face of St. Augustine over the past 300 years, condemning direct quotations from his writing to appease the Jesuits whose successors are currently bastardizing even your vision of Romanism in the Vatican today.
