    Great video! A very thorough walk-through. (I had to laugh at the final drone flyover where I watched the bilge pump suck the water back up! ;)) If I could suggest anything, it would be to spend more time opening the various hatches to access the mechanical systems. I'd like to have seen the floor in the main salon pulled up to see what engine access looks like from there. (I suspect that would be the "normal" method of performing maintenance - 'cause this old guy isn't crawling in on his hands and knees.)

    Thank you so much for sharing this awesome boat with us. It's a truly beautiful boat or home on the water with a different front yard every time you pull anchor and drop it or tie up at the new place you want to visit. That is why people buy boats and yachts so they can go see new places. May i suggest one very important thing to everyone who's about ready to go live their dreams and purchase or lease a boat. Get yourself a big thick paper map and draw out all the places you travel to, an mark the date and important things in a notebook to keep with the map. This way when you and your spouse are older you can easily show your family all the wonderful places and tell them about the people you got to meet all because you took the chance and went to live your dreams on your own floating house and never regretted it. Because we only live together once they say. I don't think that's correct, because i believe true love is like a really strong magnet and pulls the two people together if they are true soulmates. We are connected by an invisible force like gravity. We can't see it but knows it's there working. Share the Love and remember, Love is like glue that holds everything together in our Universe. That is so true.

      Lol. Yes I don't think that port light does justice when describing those big beautiful windows. I really like how the main salon is designed with all those big windows. One of the few things that I would want to change is to have a bit better walkways that run along both the starboard and port sides. They wouldn't have to be the entire length of each side, just enough so that that you can safely walk along each side. They could even be something that flips out of the way. In rough seas of course you make them a no go zone if you don't want to lose one of your deckhands.

    Damn! I just looked at the price and realised I could afford that lovely thing! I would have to sell my house but, good riddance. I would absolutely love living and wandering around in it. Just a shame it's half a planet away from here and those big diesels would eat A LOT of fuel to get here, IF I was even game to try that. The fact they've got over 2,000 hours on each isn't a killer since if maintained well they'll last damn near forever but, they are big and for my type of normal use, I wouldn't need that much.
    That is a gorgeous boat and extremely well kept, so much so, I actually thought it was new at first.

  • @saillaw2
    @saillaw2 Год назад +6

    Well it is very comparable to a Nordhaven 43 from afar - priced at only about half to a third of what an N43 would cost- so I can see the appeal. Personally though it wouldn’t work for me for two deal breaker reasons: 1) the fact that there is no side access without going through the main cabins - this will make short handed docking a challenge if anything goes wrong. 2) and more importantly, you need to be a spelunker to access the engines -no way I can get there and not be claustrophobic- this will really be a problem for any major maintenance and will make routine checks a nightmare. Maybe if you are younger and that crawling is not a problem, but for me it’s sadly a deal breaker.

      Less money than a Nordhaven for sure, but that extra $$ gets you a real bluewater boat with doors and hatches that are water tight and windows that will stand up to big water. But for the money, these are great boats, even with the limited side deck access and short engine room with the sole panels in place. And William Smith is spot on in his comment above. no way you get through Chicago on the loop at 23ft air draft. I looked at the mast and there's no hinge. If you can install one on such a substantial mast, you should be able to make it. But my main issue with this post is that the narrator failed to emphasize the main feature of this particular boat. It appears to be in outstanding shape for a 23 year old boat. The floors and walls are stunning, and at less than 2350 hours, the engines are just hitting their stride. I didn't see this boat in person like Mcnaught Americas did, but I think it will go closer to the asking price.

    • @richardwestmoreland4796
      @richardwestmoreland4796 Год назад +1

      Unless you have a serious aversion to it,a retrofit for the engine room doesn't appear to be overly difficult. It might might not be 100% as good as if it was already done when this floating home was manufactured but at my first look I didn't see anything that would completely rule out doing a retrofit to create some more overhead space to make maintenance considerably easier. I would want the blueprints before attempting anything of course. A friend of mine had a similar issue with his live aboard and was able to do a retrofit job with relative ease.

    This one is a mixed nag. Why its well maintained there are some things not to like. A shared shower, no eating or table place on the flybridge or aft deck, crawling into an engine room while at sea is no fun, having to get to aft lines quickly will require you to go through the living quarter every time. The pilot house door sills/coamings are non existent and would not keep water out during high seas. The size of the fuel tanks makes range limited. You couldn't go from San Diego to Hawaii. Not sure what the price is but I'm sure it is much less than a Bering. UpdateL Saw it is $360k or half the price of a Bering. Coastal cruiser on a budget would be the market for this.

      I really get a kick out of those that feel everyone should have a comprehensive understanding of all the vernacular that those who take to the seas use. You might get labelled as a landlubber when you call a "rain locker" a shower but I've been called much worse. I personally could not care less if anyone hasn't passed this imaginary test of what type of language to use when onboard a vessel any larger than a dinghy and for some probably any larger than an inner tube.....lol. I have unfortunately been onboard a vessel when the so called captain didn't know shit from Shinola about operating said vessel yet he sure talked a nice game. As long as people are taking to the waters wherever that might be there will be those who might never know much of the vernacular that goes with it. I guess surprising to some those that don't speak the language are just lucky that they haven't gone to Davey Jones locker because it. I'm 66 years of age and somehow I have managed to keep my head above water(no pun intended) with just a rudimentary understanding of a sailors vernacular. Probably just luck.....lol.

The television being placed where it is seemed to take space away in the galley area when the separate area to the left that could be used for that. The use of space did seem a bit hit and miss which is a shame. There’s bits to like but overall it could be a better boat, it appears to be a busy boat and trying to do too much with the result being corners are cut. The Portuguese Bridge was ok but why no door? I don’t think I would want to spend more than a few days on this before it drove me mad. Sadly someone has tried to be clever and this boat is the result, it doesn’t excel at anything and will leave you with more questions than answers. The Baby Nordhavn 41 would be a better choice in my view and it would cross the Atlantic. Another alternative would be a Grand Banks 41/43 Heritage Europa, not an exploration vessel but well designed and thought out across all areas. It makes me wonder why folk settle for just average.

    I have listened and watched alot of boat tours and it seems to me you were much more of a salesman than a tour guide. Also what is that constant
    droaning hum in evry cabin , that would get to me in just a few hours requiring Bose ear protectors with quiet technology or a new gen set.

      I'm of the opposite opinion. No walk around gunnel is definitely a design flaw but I am already scheming a retrofit to alleviate that issue. Where there is a will, there is a way. I love the spacious feel that the main salon in particular has.

    Man! You missed so much! No demo on how the dining table upfolds to double the table top space. Not a comment on the gauges or what they do above the cockpit. No horsepower rating, cruise speed, diesel tanks capacities. Guess I won't be back.

      I recall Tula's boat was built in the 1970's. From looking at the videos the kids did a great job of turning a $100 boat into a nice cruiser, and I think the broker thought they could get over $100k but they wanted to conclude a sale quickly so they could move forward with the new catamaran.

    Yet to watch the vid so am jumping the gun a bit but WHY Oh WHY dont the yacht RUclipsrs start with telling us what the boat is made of, seriously. One of the most important bits of information totaly ignored, so often. Although we are told that the boat feels very "boaty", very important of course.

    I don’t see how anyone with a two person crew could do the loop or dock this boat safely and easily. You have the pilot and another person running thru the salon back and forth just to get it tied up.

    • @richardwestmoreland4796
      @richardwestmoreland4796 Год назад +1

      Agreed.It's design does leave one wanting for more room along both the portside and starboard side to get back and forth.
