I owned this boat for 17 years and I can attest that she was well maintained until we traded her in on a Sabre 42 Salon Express. She was sailed primarily in New England and docked on Cape Cod. It’s nice to see that the current owners took great care of her and made nice upgrades including a/c. I was amazed how fast the boat could sail and how incredibly stable she was in rough seas. Whoever buys this boat is going to get a real gem. This was the last boat built by Bristol Yachts.
Hey Mike! I just purchased it. Would love to pick your brain on the asymmetrical spinnaker attachment point at the anchor roller/ bow sprit. I might have a bridle/dyneema rig made up to do it. The previous owner wasnt sure.
OK. This is one of the nicest boats that you have shown. Super equipped, and immaculate. Don’t know much about Bristol’s CB and mechanism, but if it’s like the rest of the boat, probably no problem. My Tartan 37 CB. ( the boat was VERY similar in all ways to this boat). Had an excellent CB aragememt and could sail very well with board up, Probably this boat could too. Again, very nice! And 27 yrs old, but very nicely upgraded and maintained.
Seems to be worth its price. Definitely worth a visit. So fat not a thing I don't like about this boat (except for the wheel which is overdone for a 12m boat - but they put them anywhere now…) : I perfer a good old rudder on boats ot this size : doesn't take as much space in the cockpit, and a wheel means a "complex" trasmission system with poor access to it.
Old school design lacking beam in the aft section, short lwl, and thus limited interior room & storage for long distance cruising. Absolutely beautiful condition and great for a single or couple doing coastal cruising. It is $$$ but is ready to go.
Personal experience is that this boat has more storage and larger tankage capacity than any new wide transom production boat. Also she is far more comfortable in a seaway. This boat will take you around the world.
It would be interesting to know the year, you might want to make that more obvious when based on comments people clearly don't know. It would really be great to know ahead of time if the boats is even close to affordable, the last one at $850,000 and this one about $100k overpriced takes away from the entire shopping or even dreaming experience. If it's just not real then it has little benefit for viewers. I was more impressed earlier on when you gave real people hope, or something to shoot for.
@@flynow5614 But it isn't a new boat. It's a 40 year old boat which has been upgraded and maintained. The reality is there are well founded, well maintained 38.8 at $60-70,000. No one will pay $160,000 for this boat. Why would you? You could have an excellent Bristol 45.5 for that money.
A Pristine example. That's how used boats should be presented for sail and not like some of the pig sties I've encountered. My only niggle externally is that those wide roomy side-decks are cluttered with mast stays. The Hans Christian 33 still beats it hands-down in terms of accommodation, bearing in mind that it's 5ft shorter...
Don't get your logic in videoing this boat guys. I 'get' how well presented it is. However, if it is priced anywhere near $100k above similar advertised boats (see earlier comment), to my mind, that's somewhat of a deal breaker. However, I hope it finds a good home.
Beautiful boat, well taken care of, but, no solar, no generator, only the main engine to charge the battery's, no water maker? For that price, hard pass!

Great to hear from the previous owner!
Fair winds!

These Bristol’s are gorgeous, there’s one at my marina and I have been in love but this particular Bristol is breathtaking everything shines wow
Even brand-new boats don't look this good ... awesome boat.
New boats look like bleach bottles to me.
Amazing Ted Hood boat. Thanks so much.
Dream Boat
Real nice for a couple that get along well.
An aircraft carrier is too small for a couple that doesn’t get along..
I can attest to that!!!!!!!!
Nice. When you spend wisely you will get this.
Hi there...missed U...regards from Germany
Sweet biat.. super clean..🤙
Yes you can get to the engine from another way. I sailed one of these for years.
Wow is right!
Now that's a seriously nice sailboat! I wish I had the resources to pick her up. : - \
Bristol is fine, vessel!
Over to feed the algorithm and check out the asking price. Great price for this beauty.
I love sail dreaming with you bro. Hope the family is all well and good. Do you still have that trimaran?
The stats were blurring in the beginning...Does the yacht have a water maker?
What year is this? I assume it is

I'm pretty sure you can undertake more than just coastal cruising on this vessel.
Bueatiful ❤ i wish
you forgot the price ,, or did i miss it??

Super nice. But not $100,000 nicer than several sister ships also available .
Doesn't sound like you know how much labor cost in modern times. A new boat like would cost 600k

Refits are stressfull and cost time & money. Someone will pay extra for not having to do the work
Super nice boat, but 165K? Ouch!! about 40K overpriced in my opinion.
About $90,000 over.
It sold pretty quickly. Someone saw the value.
The exposed hardware dose not look good to me.
Hitting your head on it in rough seas!
What hardware are you talking about. This boat is overbuilt and the hardware is in incredible condition.
@@spirit388 Acorn nuts in the headliner holding winches and deck hardware.

To keep it looking this good I’m afraid you wouldn’t have much time to sail. You would be too busy scraping, sanding and varnishing all the time.

Way to Dash the dream at overvalued price of $165k….this ain’t new….no matter the upgrades and care. Too bad…
165k, waaaay too much compared to similar Bristols om sale. 100k over the top.
everything but a price....
He gone ! Too expensive !
All of that white cloth made me cringe.
Simply not impressed by this boat. Where are the pluses?
Why aren’t you impressed? What are the pluses that you are looking for?
