Though I share the same family name as Chloe, I am not related to her, other than we live in the same city-state, Singapore, near the equator. Ever since Chloe was awarded with Christian Li as the co-winners of the 2018 Menuhin Competition (Junior Section), I have been following each and every upload of their video clips. Knowing and witnessing their progress, my heart is filled with excitement, gratitude, and earnest anticipation: that they will continue to bless this world with their musical giftedness. Reading the occasional reports from local newspapers in Singapore, I have been informed of the commitment of Chloe's teacher, Yin Ke, and her unfailingly supportive parents. In one interview, Chloe once so wisely stated that giftedness alone is insufficient, and her incremental progress is made, as a result of diligence and commitment. "It takes a whole village", this adage is so true. Viewing and commenting on Chloe and Christian Li's performances, I have made new friends. I take this liberty to attach below a few paragraphs from an email I received this morning (sent from New York, a fellow fan of Chloe and Christian Li). This fan (lilianwriter), and many other fans of Chloe and Christian Li, attest to the fact that, indeed, it takes a whole global village, to root for these immeasurably gifted and committed young musicians. It is so heartwarming to witness that Chloe and Christian Li have so many earnest supporters in different continents. As fans, we all collectively stand beside and behind you both, Chloe and Christian, not just for this and next year, but for many future decades to come. Please continue to bless us with the gift of your music making. Quotes below are taken from lilianwriter's email: "Wow, triple wow, Lee-Beng. I've seen this one already, but I watched it again anyway, and once again agree that those Menuhin judges absolutely know what they are doing. Their choice of Chloe and Christian for a joint first prize was just right. These two young performing artists have blossomed and flourished since the competition last year. In this performance, Chloe is completely professional: calm, confident, eloquent, emotional, exciting, exhilarating. She left the orchestra in the dust during the third movement, but the conductor should have prepared her young musicians for the speed challenge they were facing. The end of the third movement is marked allegro molto vivace, and that is what Chloe did. She tried to convey her tempo to the conductor, but, well... Chloe did not act the least bit critical or irritated. She's a true professional, and a very nice person as well. I find her playing very feminine, and at the same time, strong, determined, and virtuosic. Brava Chloe, who has become a great violinist."
Well, the orchestra was still FAR better then the one in Switzerland on Menuhin Finals :D :D :D As for the tempos- it is part of Chloe's "instinct" or "feeling" or how to call it :D Something you can't learn. Something what is part of you, of your experience, inspiration, taste for music .. and maybe a message from heaven. I don't know. You have it or you don't have it. Many professionals or music critics don't have this gift and only handful of true music lovers can recognize it. It is a miracle of music :p
The intensity of Chloe's performance is just so captivating. The notes she played just sail through your heart with such such intensity that emotionally you are spell bound. BRAVO!!! Hope some day she will play Tchaikovsky - Violin Concerto in D major.
An exquisitely beautiful slow movement framed by two electric outer movements, capped by a serious ovation from an enraptured audience. What an extraordinary violinist (and person)!
A superb performance, by any standard. My word, there is an amazing amount of young classical musical talent coming through today. It is in good hands for the future, that’s for sure.
Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64 0:42 I. Allegro molto appassionato 13:55 II. Andante 21:57 III. Allegretto non troppo - Allegro molto vivace Amazing playing Chloe!
What really motivates me to practice more precisely is seeing her already play like this at a very young age, if really shows to me that even within relatively short time and with perfect practice it is really possible to become very good!
She is reminiscent of Sarah Chang as a truly rare child prodigy who can incomprehensibly master the international violin repertoire while a child. This is a gift that cannot be acquired by anything but birth and the desire to play.
Other than the superb technique and precision. the maturity of her expression is unreal....the phrasing, color. mood change.. She must be God s student
I'm surprised by this ensemble and music hall's acoustics. The joy of music making beats any name brand. Committed musicians and conductor. She's the reincarnation of Kyung Hwa Chung and Hilary Hahn and Mutter combined - at age 12!
I think you will be interested to know that three months later Chloe gave a scintillating performance of Piazzolla's tango "Otono Porteno" with the China Philharmonic and now two years on, and still only 14, she has just given performances of the four parts of his cycle "Histoire du Tango" that are absolutely astonishing. Like this wonderful Mendelssohn, these videos too are on her YT channel.

Quotes below are taken from lilianwriter's email:
"Wow, triple wow, Lee-Beng.
Well, the orchestra was still FAR better then the one in Switzerland on Menuhin Finals :D :D :D
As for the tempos- it is part of Chloe's "instinct" or "feeling" or how to call it :D
Something you can't learn. Something what is part of you, of your experience, inspiration, taste for music .. and maybe a message from heaven.
I don't know. You have it or you don't have it.
Many professionals or music critics don't have this gift and only handful of true music lovers can recognize it.
It is a miracle of music :p
27:12 ... tempo finale.
💗💗💗
非常开心看到华人孩子们的天分,努力,和取得的成就。
Thank you for not putting advertising. I enjoyed it immensely.
The intensity of Chloe's performance is just so captivating. The notes she played just sail through your heart with such such intensity that emotionally you are spell bound. BRAVO!!! Hope some day she will play Tchaikovsky - Violin Concerto in D major.
I can't agree with you about intensity in her playing but she has a great tecniche and a lovely tone

You need new ears and a bigger heart.
Not just mechanically perfect, but she plays with such feeling for one so young.Thank you for posting❤️
An exquisitely beautiful slow movement framed by two electric outer movements, capped by a serious ovation from an enraptured audience.
What an extraordinary violinist (and person)!
She knows the Heifetz recordings. Echoes here. Wonderful.
She makes every tone sound like gold
I’m just in awe at how Chloe makes it look like anyone can play this concerto the way she does too, which is definitely not true
Beyond any adult violinist, the obvious marvel is here ! Chloe Chua plays authentic , no artifice, only sensitivity and grace, what else ?
God mode stamina & brain power for a little girl.
These musicians surely practice for countless hours per day.
A superb performance, by any standard. My word, there is an amazing amount of young classical musical talent coming through today. It is in good hands for the future, that’s for sure.
She is like angel
Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64
0:42 I. Allegro molto appassionato
13:55 II. Andante
21:57 III. Allegretto non troppo - Allegro molto vivace
Amazing playing Chloe!
What really motivates me to practice more precisely is seeing her already play like this at a very young age, if really shows to me that even within relatively short time and with perfect practice it is really possible to become very good!
You are the only violinist who had me glued to a performance! Your every note seems to be talking to me! Sort of a two way conversationm
She is reminiscent of Sarah Chang as a truly rare child prodigy who can incomprehensibly master the international violin repertoire while a child. This is a gift that cannot be acquired by anything but birth and the desire to play.
Frr😢
I can only find Sarah playing this when she was 15 (in the green dress) is there a version when she was younger like Chloe?
Other than the superb technique and precision. the maturity of her expression is unreal....the phrasing, color. mood change..
She must be God s student
God plays through her. Unmistakeable Divine beauty in her playing.
AMEN!!!
Amazing!👍👍👍This is unbelievable! At the age of 12, she sounded like a professional!
Chloe is my idol and i love her!
I'm surprised by this ensemble and music hall's acoustics. The joy of music making beats any name brand. Committed musicians and conductor. She's the reincarnation of Kyung Hwa Chung and Hilary Hahn and Mutter combined - at age 12!
0:41 Allegro molto appassionato (E minor)
13:52 Andante (C major)
21:58 Allegretto non troppo - Allegro molto vivace (E major)
Wondetful!!
The little girl is Excellent!
They are all such mature musicians.
Technical excellence, staggering musicality.
A hugely rewarding performance.
Chloe, we all love you, and you are splendidly superb!!!
Dear lilianwriter: Thank you for your kind words and support all these times. I am very happy that you like my playing, and your encouragement has motivated me to do even better in furure. 🤗
Chloe, many thanks. You are warm and genuine, and you truly deserve all the accolades. Sincerest kind wishes to you always! No response expected.Blessings,Lilian Duval
@@ChloeChuaviolinist How much does your violin costs?
@@pena1950 Hi! The violin is on loan from someone in my country and I am not sure about the price of the violin but I think its probably around £90k plus.
@@ChloeChuaviolinist When must it be returned?
This piece make me feel like the world so peaceful.

Luv u so much Chole ❤❤❤you are so talented🤩 we are always with you 😊
Amazing interpretation! Extraordinarly good, thank you!
The hardest thing is to blend your own artistic touch into a work that's by itself a colossal masterpiece - Chloe here makes it diabolically alive !! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
So beautiful interpretation. By moments I was crying . Good luck Chloë !
Thank you for your wonderful performance, so lovely and touched.
I'm so astonished seeing how easily she plays this
Fraîcheur et maturité musicale. Une découverte et un plaisir de d écouter Chloe Chua
Breathtaking, every single note!!!
Oh, how I love this concerto! And Chloe played it so perfectly!
yo creo que Chloe Chua, una niña de 12 años, es la nueva virtuosa del violín. interpreta con un sentimiento muy por encima de su edad, ya sea bach, vivaldi u otros. bravo
Great, Chloe. Successes and blessings.
imagine being the first violin of an orchestra and get absolutely flexed on by a 12 yo
She is amazing
Full of emotion and humanity very close to the giant Sir Menuhin!
Bravo Chloe you are amazing !!! best regards from south america

Chole chua remarkable 👍 thanks for giving 🙏

SPICY VIOLIN DAISAN NO BAKUDAN: LINGLING
A very beautiful, moving but unsentimental reading. I particularly liked the transition in the first movement at 3:30 Well done to Chloe and also to the orchestra and Ms Chen who accompanied her so supportively.
Spettacolare,melodiosa e strepitosa,bravissima!
Chloe looks so smol that I just wanna protect her, man why isn’t my little sister like her
I think your sister didn’t practice 40 hours a day
@@camieec it be like that man
I wonder how it feels to have a prodigy as a sister...
she might be able to kill you with her pinky lol
She's very good at playing the violin She's amazing
The percussionist really seemed to enjoy her performance
I noticed that.
