    I am 68 years old and I think I have watched every guitar teacher that have ever been on line I started when I was the age of 12. It is so disappointing, I haven't pick a guitar up in 10 years and I think I have come to the conclusion that I'm not a guitar player, and then I discovered you and here I go again. I hope whatever it is that I'm missing that I can find it in you. May GOD BLESS you and thank you for your help.

    I had a friend from NJ that we used to bust her chops for referring to a house's "roof" as a "rough" or "ruff"!! Funny! Great lesson as always (less is more!), Rusty. I can already see the prospects of expanding this concept much further but then again this is the underlying purpose of your cool weekly lessons! Jim C.

    • @rustysguitar1
      @rustysguitar1  Год назад +2

      That is funny Jim! I have got a few comments about the way I see it! And I do say the word “root” all the time because many players overlook homebase. But you are also right so much we can expand on with this idea that was in the video. Thanks again for checking it out. Talk to you soon buddy.👍

    Arguably the best tutor on RUclips! Practical, immediately implementable ideas. You cut to the chase Rusty,Been grappling with soloing for 5years now. Humbly consider myself intermediate regarding rhythm guitar and playing whilst singing. Soloing was shrouded in mystery, something only certain talented guitarists could do,UNTIL I came across your channel. Your teaching style resonates strongly with me. Profoundly grateful. As you know, music goes on forever. The biggest problem for newcomers to music is not knowing where to start and what kind of music to make. In the videos, the instructors avoid giving enough information or do not know how to teach. With your permission, I'll call you professor. I just discovered you and leveled up where I am. Thank you, Professor, for making a great contribution to music and those involved in music.

      @@rustysguitar1 Thanks Rusty. I am 64 and have had guitars around me since I was 14. Unfortunately career and family never allowed me to get into playing as much as I would have liked. Now forced into retirement due to injury I have started to get into guitar again and also the theory side of guitar playing. Back in the day resources and teaching practices were always a bit staid but have come on in leaps and bounds since then and it’s videos like yours that really help in a practical way, how to understand the guitar and how and why things fit together. So yes a great lesson and I look forward to seeing more. Cheers from Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 in the UK !

    You go my speed Rusty. Most teachers blend beginner and advanced skills in one video, which is difficult to follow and is ultimately demotivating. You put out simple concepts that are manageable and sound good. This keeps me moving forward. Thanks
