All because one remembered hearing about it on TotalBiscuit's podcast. I personally sunk around 80 hours into the game for the month I was able to play it, before I had to leave. I never had the time to really play it afterwards, until early 2017 when I was stationed in Okinawa. However, connecting with my friends who lived on the East Coast of the U.S. from the previously mentioned country... Yeah, you can imagine how horrendous my ping was. I'd be cool if it went the titanfall route and made a sequel that was somehow an absolute banger. I didn't play this game much but I could tell it had great potential.
The game industry has a long history of trying to replicate successful practices without understanding WHY those things worked in the first place. That's what happens when the majority of the executives making decisions don't play games.
What I found funny was what happened after the community begged and cried for years to get the games servers back online for the free 2 play edition. Well, 2k did actually give the servers back for a short period of I think like a few months. But what did the community do? When the servers dropped it remained nearly dead because most of them were still playing on the completely separated original evolve that could only be accessed if you had bought the original game when it was out. I was hyped as shit to play it, and even dragged some friends along. What did I find? Literally nothing as there was no one to play with.

If they just took feedback, went free to play, and fixed the issues, they'd be making money easily. They could have their playerbase and their $500 skins. They'd rather make a completely new game than just fix this one. I couldn't imagine. Also I payed for this and can't play it now. I want a refund.
7:30 And that's where the bs lay because publishers in the gaming industry have no f*cking clue what sells so they continuously make wrong decisions that ruins the gameplay and world the developers were making in the name of greed. (even if the concept alone would sell millions) Just look at what Sony ATTEMPTED to do to Helldivers for the biggest recent example. But I loved playing Evolve. I miss getting to play as the big monster that runs at first before growing powerful enough to fight back. I miss my Overpowered playstyle with Wraith, turning her into an aggressive menace that could ribbon a tank in seconds if the healer wasn't good enough, even turning the game into a win while still UnEvolved Stage 1 if they weren't competent enough with their teamwork. I miss Juking the enemy when they were too focused on my tracks, missing that I crouched behind the wall that they would've been able to spot had they tried using the high ground. I miss playing the healer that's always targeted first by the monster, outrunning the monster when they tried to down me and healing any ally the monster tries to go for instead. I miss the Assault and getting to brutalize the monster's health down to nothing if they didn't accept my face tanking tactic. I miss the Support with the many gadgets that makes every game Unique. I miss the Tracker, running off to cut off the monster while my allies follow the tracks, cornering the monster before it gets the chance to reach stage 2. This game was fun as hell, but doomed to die because the two companies thought their fanbase was nothing more than livestock to be taken advantage of. Them being punished for that bs was welcome but not at the cost of one of the best PVP games I've had the pleasure to play no longer becoming available.
Man i would do anything to play this game again, got a ps4 disc copy and it just doesn't work *sighs* welcome to the generation of never owning gamss and subscriptions

They'd rather make a completely new game than just fix this one. I couldn't imagine. Also I payed for this and can't play it now. I want a refund.
I fucking loved evolve. First game i got for the xbox one. Shame it fell off so hard, so fast, by no fault of its own
7:30 And that's where the bs lay because publishers in the gaming industry have no f*cking clue what sells so they continuously make wrong decisions that ruins the gameplay and world the developers were making in the name of greed.
Can't you force irnstal Evolve using Steam commands? Like you do with Spacewar, i mean.
Anyone know if someone's made a game like evolve?
How is this game being updated after it was token down on steam?
game was actually awesome before it came out :DD its soo sad
I miss Depth - it definitely pulled off assymetric fps better
Great vid, btw it's "comes crashing down" not "comes down crashing"
The start of the video has more story than all of evolve lore
That's false. Evolve's lore is actually concerningly deep

There wasn't a game called gigantic where was like this combined with a hero shooter but more akin to Smite?
