    You guys should demonstrate it on a really dirty car that hasnt been washed for at least 2 weeks so we can see if the foam is actually working .... Clean car and showing how the cannon works doesnt make any difference since the car is a bit clean.

      Hi there, thanks for watching. Detailing can be expensive at first, but when you realize you only need small amounts of product to get the job done, you can keep detailing for quite some time. I myself got into detailing, and I would slowly pick up products as I went, The more videos I saw the more practical everything became. I built my confidence in detailing by with every new item I picked up and using them. Stay Tuned, more great videos on the way.

      J Fazzuoli ...great point...many overlook using warm water....good analogy is dishwashing....warm/hot water w dishwashing liquid soap creates more suds, and breaks grease, debris off a lot easier than cold water!

    I have been a ChemicalGuys products user for one whole week now. I honestly thought all of their products were just "hype". Every one of their products is like a miracle cure, on RUclips. I thought to myself, "what Sorcery is this? " for every video I watched.
    So last week I ordered $450 worth of their products and I have to say I am a believer of their snake oil. This stuff is absolutely fantastic.
    I have used Meguiars for a long time and think now that Meguiars is basically "Hershey's Chocolate , compared to ChemicalGuys Swiss Chocolate Goodness.

      Hey Gregory, 60% of the time, it works every time lol. Wax is an amazing tool to enhance the shine of your paint, and it adds protection which is all so important with the chaotic weather we've all been experiencing. You can't go wrong with the black car care kit, everything contained within it will send your car's paint to the next level of clarity. I too have a whole trunk full of supplies, I'm sure my collection will grow.

    A fairly important tip that was missed is to turn off the pressure washer after foaming and moving to the scrubbing stage. Otherwise you'll burn up the pump if you leave it running for more than a couple minutes without pushing water through. (only applies to gas washers of course)

      Hi Katie thanks for watching. That car belongs to one our co workers, and I've seen first hand how dirty it was. I have a similar Q50 and it's hard to tell from a distance that it's dirty because the metal flake in the paint reflects a large amount of sunlight. Our cars are exposed to industrial run off, bird droppings, and road grime. My car gets so dirty that I have to wash almost every week, and apply waxes frequently. Stay tuned Katie, more great videos are on the way.

      don't give people false information, that car will have the smallest amount of dirt on it, you can see from when you spray the pressure washer on the bonnet the water sheets off instantly like it was detailed and then sealed with a wax or more likely a paint sealant before you applied the snow foam

    So what was the purpose of the two buckets? I wouldn’t think you would need a soap bucket since you snowed the car. I get the rinse bucket.

    • @Kezpool
      @Kezpool 5 лет назад

      Psykic Chimp you foam the car and then rinse it off which gets rid of most of the dirt then you wash it with a soapy wash bucket to get the rest off with a rinse bucket too. Snow and rinse first reduces amount of dirt you’ll get in the buckets

    For your sealants and waxes like Blitz, Activate, Butter Wet Wax and Instawax and even your paint sealant like JetSeal can you apply it to the whole car and buff it off. If you can do you apply it to the whole car wait then buff it off or apply it then immediately buff it

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 лет назад

      Hi Harshvir,
      Yes, for each of these, you're going to want to allow cure and bonding time before you buff it off. For Blitz: allow 5 minutes to dry and haze, then you can buff off to a high gloss shine. For Activate: allow it to dry for 15 minutes before buffing it off. Instawax: Allow 5 minutes to dry to a haze before buffing it off with a towel. For BWW: there is no required curing or drying time, you can buff it off immediately. Thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family!

      Thanks CG, another quick question, if you don't have JetSeal to protect your paint from the winter. What else can you do beside from JetSeal.

    • @griffinlynch1644
      @griffinlynch1644 7 лет назад

      You can use any Chemical Guys sealant if your goal is to just get through the winter with a coat of protection. I highly recommend JetSeal just for it's durability if you live in a place that experiences extreme weather conditions in the winter. If that is not an option then consider Extreme Top Coat Sealant with 3x Carnauba Wax. It is my go to product for all of my customers whose cars I detail, super durable, super slick, super glossy! - Griffin

      @ChemicalGuys  7 лет назад

      Hi Harshvir, I completely agree with Griffin Lynch, Extreme Top is a great choice, or you can go with M seal, and Blitz. Just having a good combination of sealant and wax to protect the paint is good enough to keep the paint safe during the winter time especially with cold temperatures beating down on your car, and water forming all around the paint exterior.

    Super noob question I haven't found addressed on RUclips from detailers, and the rest of the internet yields conflicting information: how do you fill the thing? is it full of soap? Do you put soap and water in? Just add soap leaving air at the top? How do the dilution ratios come into play? (I understand the dilution when using a bucket, not sure how that translates to an "unlimited" water supply.)
    If you put both soap and water in the cannon, do you shake it, too?

    Everyone seems to do this differently. It seems you didn’t rinse off the soap after you foamed. I think the majority say to rinse off then wash with the two bucket system. Can you explain? Thanks!

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  6 лет назад +2

      Hi Michael, it's a waste of water, and the soap emulsifies the small dirt particles when it foams up. When you have a limited amount of time to wash, and you need to glaze, wax, or seal; you really have to move quickly. If you want to take the extra step, by all means, we've been doing this for a long time and we get consistently good results. Stay tuned Michael for more great videos.

    Is it the PSI or GPM to get thick foam?

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  4 года назад

      Hey there! Both play a key role in the aeration of the foam to produce thick foam. Higher PSI (1800-3000)will cause more foam and the recommend GPM(2.0) will produce thicker foam.

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Nathan, I'd love to answer those questions for you. Here are some helpful tips: 1) Use warm water 2) Don't shake the soap up and down, spin the soap container instead. 3) Foam cannons have adjustable nozzles, use them. 4) Use 1-3 ounces of soap, fill the rest with water. Having the right kind of pressure helps, a 2.4 GPM is deal, however we've had success with the Sunjoe electric pressure washer. If you follow these tips, you should do fine.

      Hi Jason! Using the two bucket method reduces the chances of bringing grime back to the vehicle where is can cause scratches. One bucket is full of clean water and soap whereas the second bucket is full of clean water for rinsing your wash mitt.

  • @justwayne4785

    Isn’t the soap good enough to remove a lot of the dirt if it’s just left to dwell then ringed off? Then you could do a contact wash with a lot less dirt being gathered in the mitt.
