The tilt is probably the most difficult of the 3 balancing steps. Make sure you're balancing at a 45 degree vertical angle if you have anything on your camera's hot shoe mount. If you feel you've manually balanced everything then launch the Ronin app and perform the balancing test, see what your score is, if it's excellent or good then move on to the motors auto tuning. @@kingsley15 Thanks for the response bro! I'm having other issues as well. I think holding the trigger is supposed to lock the gimbal. Mine still sways. It could just be me but it is difficult to keep things centered. I don't know if this is proper procedure but In order to do a 360 around my subject I have to manually lock pan and roll axis. Is a gimbal supposed to sway and move so much? Maybe be I need to practice my techniques. I don't know what else to do...
@@dancrosby6091 No problem at all, I'm happy to help any way I can. Holding the trigger locks a point of view. So let's say you have your camera pointing at an area, if you hold the trigger, your camera will basically lock to that area even if you turn and twist the gimbal handle. For a 360 shot of a subject, I prefer to use the Pan Follow mode or Active Track. My first choice would be pan follow, I normally set the speed to high and then walk around the subject while always aiming my camera at the subject. One thing to note, you have to walk really smooth, bend your knees while walking around your subject. Also make sure you're turning your gimbal handle slowly and smoothly, while always keeping a direct view of the subject... I think a lot of people don't really do this because they assume the gimbal should be perfect to all movements. You should still pretend you're not using a gimbal and try to move slowly and smoothly. If you want to take sporty shots, then try FPV mode. You're right, it's all about practice - practice makes perfect. I spent about 8 to 10 hours just for learning and testing (🥴), I genuinely learned so many things every hour, it all feels like second nature now. I have the focus rig set up as well and that was kind of daunting at the beginning, now I set everything up to perfection in less than 10 minutes. Keep at it, this is a fantastic gimbal, it just takes some getting used to 🙂. Drop a comment here if you need more help, or have more questions.
@@kingsley15 Thanks again. I understand better how the trigger lock works now. You can make slight twisting movements etc. but you have to be smooth and can't over do your movements. I'll have to try pan follow for 360 around subject b/c I can't connect gx85 b/c it doesn't have remote port. I was torn between g7 and gx85. I went with gx85 because of extra lens and IBIS. I'LL keep practicing. It takes some getting used to. I thought this thing was broken it seems so hard to control. I'm sure in time I'll get better. I already have a better feel for the trigger lock feature. Still can't balance tilt to save my life. However I balance the other 2-axis and I am consistently getting excellent on all axis in balance test. Thanks again. I'm subscribing to your page right now bro! Blessings👍
have you tried mounting a mic receiver on top of the camera when trying to shoot vertical? I ran into a problem with this yesterday and couldn't figure out how to mount it and shoot vertically without the camera hitting the gimbal. if anybody has any insight I would greatly appreciate it
bruh 2 weeks ago everything was fine and easy, now im balancing this for over an hour, adjused the pan axis 8 times and apparently it's never right, wtf? Edit: Finally was able to fix it by using the automatic adjustment in the app.
The only problem I have with this gimble is putting to work the auto focus feature knob. So, I do not use it. The knob tight the rubber band and gets stock. I hear that Ronin R2 works better.
I brought the whole focus kit without realising that just using a USB-C supports alot of cameras, my GH5S can just be plugged in with a USB-C to the adjustment knob and then select pc tethering on my camera, alot of Sony ones are supported too. For some reason the supplied usb-c is directional for me though? It litterally only works plugged in one way
This might sound stupid, but are you using two screws on the bottom plate to attach the riser to the camera, or one? I couldn't get my big Sigma lens to balance because I was using two screws. When I switched to one, I was able to balance it.

Not sure if this will help your problem, but when balancing mine with a mic on top, it became too top-heavy to balance. To counteract this problem, we moved the microphone to the handle of the gimbal using the mount that they give you if you want to have your phone in the video. Once it was just the camera on there, it was very easy to balance on its own. Hope that helps!

@@bobbyiii5534 Hello, there. Thanks for your inquiry. There are two key points for “balancing and usage”: 1. Gimbal load; 2. Camera’s distribution of the center of gravity. Assuming that the total weight and gravity center are fixed, the gimbal does not need to rebalance again theoretically after you change the lens. If not, we recommend rebalancing the gimbal. Please observe the actual condition and do the balancing.

Hi there, to accurately judge whether Ronin-SC is completely balanced, you can connect it to the mobile device, launch the Ronin APP, find the "motor parameters" setting, click "more parameters", and check the power values of the pan axis, pitch axis, and roll axis. After the Auto Tune is completed, the smaller the power value, the better the balance status. If it exceeds ±5, it is recommended that you re-adjust the mechanical balance before performing Auto Tune.

Blessings👍
2 last questions. What exactly is dead band? What are your custom settings under the control feature in the app (motion etc.)?
I don't normally give negative remarks but the background music was distracting.
Wow! new rosin right?
have you tried mounting a mic receiver on top of the camera when trying to shoot vertical? I ran into a problem with this yesterday and couldn't figure out how to mount it and shoot vertically without the camera hitting the gimbal. if anybody has any insight I would greatly appreciate it
Very good !
thanks
bruh 2 weeks ago everything was fine and easy, now im balancing this for over an hour, adjused the pan axis 8 times and apparently it's never right, wtf?
Edit: Finally was able to fix it by using the automatic adjustment in the app.
You told me nothing
The only problem I have with this gimble is putting to work the auto focus feature knob.
So, I do not use it. The knob tight the rubber band and gets stock. I hear that Ronin R2 works better.
I brought the whole focus kit without realising that just using a USB-C supports alot of cameras, my GH5S can just be plugged in with a USB-C to the adjustment knob and then select pc tethering on my camera, alot of Sony ones are supported too. For some reason the supplied usb-c is directional for me though? It litterally only works plugged in one way
Can I use this remote Control from application without connecting camera to Ronin via cable?
Easy to assemble,fun to use
This might sound stupid, but are you using two screws on the bottom plate to attach the riser to the camera, or one? I couldn't get my big Sigma lens to balance because I was using two screws. When I switched to one, I was able to balance it.

so why are you not using the spacer? I'm confused... you said use it if plate touches lens..
I have a Sony a7iii with a Sony GM 16-35mm 2.8 lens and when I balance the eye piece will hit before it can roll vertical. I have searched for help but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Wait did you seriously put the lens support against the focus ring?
can we shoot by balancing mobile on it
My Lumix G85 won't connect with the Dji Ronin SC. I tried connecting it thru the PC feature but it doesn't work. It just displays connecting to pc. Can you tell me how to fix this?
The camera mounting plate doesn't move either left or right.
okay it took the camera store 4 days to calibre mine, took it home and I had to RUclips it to figure it out. I am a cavewoman when it comes to technology guys! Anyhow, problem I am facing is that I need my microphone attached to my camera and its not balancing at all 😤 is there a solution????
Not sure if this will help your problem, but when balancing mine with a mic on top, it became too top-heavy to balance. To counteract this problem, we moved the microphone to the handle of the gimbal using the mount that they give you if you want to have your phone in the video. Once it was just the camera on there, it was very easy to balance on its own. Hope that helps!

I have the Sony a7iii and the sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens. I just got the Ronin SC. I am having trouble getting it to balance. I’m wondering is my lens too heavy? If so what lens would you suggest? Or is there something I can do differently to get this to balance.

Did you ever get this figured out? I’m having that issue right now
Same, im running with the same gear but it seems to heavy for the gimbal how did you counter this?

Questions on how to balance a gimbal is asked a couple of times a day in the forums. Copying and pasting this video is an easy way to address balance questions.
Can this balance canon m50 with big lenses such as sigma 17-50mm or anything similar?
Definitely not
After a while, I ve encouter a problem with my Ronin SC, the horizontal axix (roll axis) is offset to the right by 2 degress... can't fix it no matter what. I ve talked to DJI support and followed every step as follows: horizontal calibration, system calibration, auto tune, excellent camera balance on all axis, factory reset, joint angle calibration, firmware downgrade. Has anyone encounter this issue and solved it somehow? Please advice, I have many DJI products, but I can't belive that the Osmo Mobile gimbal has a manual horizon tune angle function, and a Pro level gimbal such as the Ronin SC dose not.... I am disappointed and I don t know what to do.... no more warranty either...
Literally my problem right now. Happened out of nowhere
@@Fefe8484 I solved it by getting a Ronin SC 2 with manual horizon calibration overwrite. I got the same problem with the new RSC 2 after a few months, but now I can compensate via manual adjustment
I bought it for a canon 6D but the cable set doesn’t work. Anyone have an idea on how I can connect the ronin to the canon ?
When I double click the front button to recenter the gimbal, it is off aligned to the left. Does anyone know how to fix this. I have tried recalibrating several time but it does not fix the issue. Please help.

Is it supports Nikon D7500 ?
Hi there, sorry that Nikon D7500 is not listed on the Ronin SC compatible camera list, we may not be able to assure the compatibility of the camera with Ronin-SC.
It has been tested that Ronin-SC is able to provide stabilization for the camera and lens with a total weight of 2 kg and below. However, the shutter of some cameras cannot be controlled by Ronin-SC. Please refer to the Camera Compatibility List on DJI's official website for more details www.dji.com/support/compatibility?product=ronin-sc. Thank you for your inquiry.
So frustrating my camera only weighs 1.2kg and no matter what I do it won’t balance !!!! I have tried everything. It always falls back or forward, it will never stay in one position

@@DJITutorials I have the Sony a6400 with the kit lens (18-135mm zoom lens). I also have several other lens recently obtained. Now i balanced the SC for the 18-135 mm lens. Question, if I swap that lens for another lens, do I have re-balance the entire gimbal again?
@@DJITutorials Another question too, I'm just getting into film/photography and will be moving about from place to place; what's best practice for maneuvering the gimbal from place to place safely? Is it better to dissemble the entire thing a have it in that case it came with, or just take the camera off the gimbal and leave the gimbal assembled with the camera separate as it transports from different areas?
@@bobbyiii5534 Hello, there. Thanks for your inquiry. There are two key points for “balancing and usage”:
1. Gimbal load;
2. Camera’s distribution of the center of gravity.
Assuming that the total weight and gravity center are fixed, the gimbal does not need to rebalance again theoretically after you change the lens. If not, we recommend rebalancing the gimbal. Please observe the actual condition and do the balancing.
@@bobbyiii5534 Hi, there. For this question, we do not have an official or optimal answer for transportation. We would recommend you to carry the device and camera in a secure and portable way, avoiding liquid and a huge external shock. Thanks for your understanding and support.

I think my lens is too heavy for this gimbal I have a 35 mm sigma f1.2 art DG DN LENS im trying to get this thing to balance but no matter how far back I pull the marker it keeps tilting forward any suggestions ?
I use a Sony zve10 with no attachments and this gimbal ruins my footage every time I film. Idk if my camera is too light or what but no matter how many times I try to balance it manually or through the app and auto tune it, it shake’s constantly and charge doesn’t last. I hate this gimbal so so so so much. Not to mention I plugged the camera into the gimbal and the gimbal automatically records in slow motion………wtffff
Heyyy, were you able to fix the problem or did you get a better gimbal? If so, what would you reccomand? i have a zve10 and i was planning on buying this gimbal..
@@hachiman7522 honestly I bought the ronin rs 3 pro. It’s a tiny camera for it but you’ll grow out of the zve10 pretty fast. But if you’re not looking to spend the money on a gimbal you can risk the Ronin sc I think I just got a bad one considering I bought it on Amazon and not the Dji site
This gimbal does not balance with canon m50 with an iPhone 13 Pro Max on top
❤❤❤
Hard to do. Lots of things to adjust and check. Should have been simple and short. Or it should have the ability to check its own balance.
Is this hunk of crap supposed to be on or off when you are balancing it?
id never buy it if i knew how complicated it is
