Awesome nostalgic video!😀. I also like the filmation style opening and the Tamiya voice over promo and 80’s style paint job on the Big Brute. Well done! FYI, the body on the Big Brute is a 84’-88’ Toyota pickup.
Thanks for the compliments, Means a lot. I love how the Filmation ident turned out, I had to learn how to animate it by hand, there was no template. Another chap pointed this out too earlier on. Unfortunately, I didn't research it as I was going on memories of what I saw as a kid when I once saw a pick up that looked similar so thought my Big Brute was a Nissan. On the plus side, it allowed me to say Nissan in an American accent, which makes it sound utterly absurd, lol
@@21ccFilms No errors noticed, Good wholesome fun from beginning to end, exactly how RC should be, you had me giggling away friend. "The voice" is from a special time, apply that voice to anything and,.. I'd buy that for a Dollar😉👍.
That’s awesome w a tamiya esc and speckrum received that big brute was ahead of it’s time, and had tamiya power instead of the lemans 05 and Kyosho rotary msc
Brings back some memories of when i used to go to my local model shop they always had these promo videos running I remember the Blackfoot one. Top job that’s really funny.
Wow! I forgot all about that. All the boxes on the wall the TV in the middle running VHS tapes. For an extra $100 bucks they would build them for you and $30 more for paint.
i forgot i had my resolution set at 144p and i thought you downscaled to look like a VHS tape. lol good job! i was a 'racer' back then so my wallet forgot what fun was. i secretly wanted the "hi-rider vette" version of this truck. thanks for the memories.
"Nissan"? That's a Toyota. 86-88 I don't understand why they would make a 2WD version of a monster truck; it's kind of silly. I'd LOVE to have the 4WD version, though.
I don't know, but you could always try to find out if the mad van uses pin driven wheel adapters and what size the stub axles are. That would go some way in you finding out.
Nice video, but not very '80s. The electronic speed control and digital receiver visible at 3:41 and the lipo battery visible at 4:06 are dead giveaways. This equipment didn't exist in those days.
To bad the plastic dog bones are weak and don't last long and the bulkheads are weak at the point they attach to the main chassis. I had its cousin The Hi-Rider Vette.
Brilliant video. 80’s voice over is hilarious 😂
Took me a couple of hours to do the v/o for that. Numerous takes, and script changes on the fly. Good fun though from beginning to end.
The Big Brute was my first hobby grade RC kit I got in 1989. Id love to have one for the shelf.
Same here. enjoying driving this one for sure. Only time this is on the shelf is when I'm not driving it.

It's a Toyota body, the Double Dare has a Nissan body.
Ok, I stand corrected. I'm not redoing my V/O though, lol
dang Im so glad I watched this to the end that last song is epic! thanks for sharing the details bro ✌🙂 long live the 80s 💖
You legend, Thank you for that. Respect for going with the voice over. brilliant. Cheers and best wishes.
Hey, thanks for that. Well glad you enjoyed it. It's nice to know some people can look past that one error and enjoy it for the fun it is.

😂instasub. I just watched tamiyas hour long 1987 commercial and you hit the nail on the head!
Oh man that hits the spot! pure 80's
Glad you like it. Please share, mega appreciated.
My first hobby grade rc car. Continued for 5 years. Now 30 years later back into it . Even got myself a bolink eliminator.
Scott mcalvin hows the bolink?
I had a Big Brute,,& a Big Boss,,,,,had a blast with them
True 80's style indeed 👍

Please kyosho bring this back!
Farking brilliant mate.
Fully sent that sweet looking truck too!
Oh my God tell me please at this is coming back out I remember having the yellow one 🤣😂🤣💪🏻
i forgot i had my resolution set at 144p and i thought you downscaled to look like a VHS tape. lol
good job!
i was a 'racer' back then so my wallet forgot what fun was. i secretly wanted the "hi-rider vette" version of this truck.
thanks for the memories.
Really pleased you enjoyed my video. It was fun to put together, and a real pleasure to know people have enjoyed my work.
I have a set of mint never used big brute wheels and tires I was going to mount on another truck. Cool video.
Superb video great vintage style*****
Great job.The voice over is spot on
Thanks for the compliments
Wow I was back in the 80's
Wish I still had mine. But that's been over 30 years ago lol
I love vintage monster trucks
This is truly amazing!
Great job!
Now I want one. 😜
Asplenia.
Should've added some static effects to the video to make it look standard definition.
Nice...

Seeing this in the towers catalogs made me droll. This, and the clod and usa-1.
Strange they havent rere’d it. Restored my brothers childhood BB accurate to way he had it bout doz yrs ago or so. -U10
looks fun
A friend had this when we were kids. I had a grasshopper and a Blackfoot. Good times musta been 13... 14
Btw. 15 minutes to charge, 4 minutes of fun, lol, damn you kids got it good nowadays
Hehe, I remember the days, A wind up 15 minute charger and a 1200mah nicad. The yoof of today wouldn't know the struggle. haha
I had one and it was the first one that I had
Toyota pickup. I had an 1985 back in the day.......
Best video I've seen in ages. Absolutely classic. Funny as hell. And informative. 😂😂😆😆😎😎... got a new sub from me bro. Keep em coming 😎😎😎
Awesome, thank you!
This is great!
Awesome sauce
Excellent 👍🏼
Thank you! Cheers!
Hahaha that was awesome!!!
Watch in 360P for full effect. 😁
lol, good idea.
I forgot about The BIG BRUTE!
“Other RC trucks are just cars underneath; the Big Brute is a real RC truck from top to bottom.”
That was the marketing line back then.
Great video only flaw is the body is a 1987 Mazda B2000 style NOT nissan
1987 toyota but close
@spencerenyart6075
I disagree, doesn't even resemble Toyota at all
It does resemble a mazda because mazda copies toyota trucks which this one is.
Hilarious! Go '80s!
I always thought it was a Toyota?
just curious if anyone knows, would the new Mad Van wheels fit a Big Brute as i need some period correct tires to complete my build?
I don't know, but you could always try to find out if the mad van uses pin driven wheel adapters and what size the stub axles are. That would go some way in you finding out.

I know that. I think you''ve missed the point.

Glad you liked the video though
Loll😅
