already done, as is always the case on immediately opening! I came from nitro on my hyper st (still half brushless converted, just can't sort the drive train from wrecking the gears. Until i got into the smaller scale thanks to this chanel; (still have a sprint 2) I don't miss the glowplug saga, pulling the rip cord and it coming off in your hand. It was fun at the time but too messy and expensive. and carrying a huge bag around. Nitro back then (10-12 years ago) was 20 quid a contianer! Saying that electric come October is probably gonna be the same! Start it rich so you can see the exhaust clearly then lean it off a bit so just a bit shows as it exits the exhaust. Was a good rule of thumb for me anyway. (yours looked a little rich, but can't fault it's "go"!
The tuning is fine. The issue it has is the clutch is too loose and engages too fast causing it to the bog. Sort the clutch by tightening the springs and it will launch out the hole like an animal.
Any more nitro's you are on the lookout after ? I myself wouldn't mind getting hold of the original kyosho mad force or the twin force (og electric solid axle truck.) Or the thunder tiger EK4, wheelies for days out of both of these when tuned right. Mad force is a bit more fragile then the ek4 being a solid axle monster truck but still, love the look of Kyosho's 1:8th scale monster trucks too this day. Specially the new brushless usa-1 is a really nice looking truck.
Loved this video! Very nostalgic. I still have my TR 15T that I bought with my first job over the summer break and built from scratch, with my Nenita (grandma) watching my every step and keeping a good supply of snacks while I dedicated the rest of my holiday break to building this wonderful car. Thank you for showing how amazing this car is. Really brought back some amazing memories.😆😆😆😆😆
This is the first time I've ever seen or even heard of one of these but this is the coolest RC truck I've ever seen! I wonder if this will ever be reproduced?
She’s definitely running quite rich. You can slowly turn the fuel mixture screw in till it sounds more smooth, like it sounds in the higher rev range, all throughout the rev range. It’ll also get rid of that bog down low and really wake it up.
My god that thing is gorgeous,. There’s something about retro rc cars that modern ones just don’t have . I get that same tingle when I see a really nice Mrk1 golf
Love the TR15-T ...👍 I've still got mine tucked away, had it from when I was 14 years old (I'm 43 now 😂) really need to get it out and use it again! Always remember how fast it was....felt like a wee rocket. I've also got a Team Losi XXX and a Schumacher Bosscat stored away with it....need to get them up and running again! 😎👍
Definitely the best RC on the Channel if the best RC is the 1 that makes you smile the most 😉 awesome find and what a sweet looking and sounding truck so good it’s got me wanting to get my Thunder Tiger Sledgehammer S50 out the shed after sitting there 2 yrs since I bought it and only having 1 tank through it on a stand 🤦🏼♂️ it needed tuning when I bought it at the time I dint know it needed a Tanks putting through it before you can tune them. After the 1 Tank I had inadvertently smoked out the kitchen as it was all blowing in through the door so the misses put a stop to my tinkering at that point, I really need to get it out clean it and have another go at it before the weather changes again. Great vid Phil 👍
Amazing car. Back in those days I couldn't effort it. But I bought the rims and tires to get my Stadium Blitzer road fit😁. Thanks for the presentation 👍
yes definately a gem right there phil, i bought a TGX mk1 few years back now in almost prestine and i love it when i do actually take it out as its pretty much the same tires are hard and no grip but its awesome drifting around pouring out smoke and noise just love it , cheers for taking us back bro , 🙂
Hello from a hole in the U.S.A. wall.. it is a cool truck. I have a 1994 RC 10GT. came with .12 then .15 now I've shoe horned a .26 in it. 😁😁😁😁 sweet!!!
Man that thing's a beast!! I've never been into nitro stuff, but I really love that truck! Many years ago the club I raced at did a "demo" race day at the Exeter Race Course shortly before it was taken over by The Jockey Club. We laid out a nice big track for suitable for 1/8th and 1/10th on a mown grass area. And once we started racing I found that my Team Associated RC10T2, a brushed stadium truck just 2 years younger than the TR-15T, could keep up with the 1/8th buggies when I ran 7 cell battery packs! It's pretty similar too with it's dead flat handling and massive fun to drive!
What a find! Good work, man. Love the way that thing drives; slightly plush suspension really absorbing the bumps, with satisfying pitch and roll. What a laugh!
one thing about nitro: air cooled....don't rip it doing donuts etc you can over heat it. It's always good to do some not full throttle straight runs to get air flowing over the cooling fins. They're pretty durable but you CAN over heat them. Oh yeah, it's better to be too rich than too lean.....too lean means not enough cooling or lube from the fuel and you can burn out the engine. You'll go faster but for a shorter amount of time. It's better to err on the side of caution and run it a tad rich.
OMG mate that thing Is epic!!! So great looking and runs so smooth, Its the Best thing I have seen for a while, It seems the torque starts mid range rpm wise, you have to be playing with the gas yo keep It in that range, ohh man I really really liked this one, I bet Its gonna have a really decent top speed as well, specially for a tiny nitro, cheers mate, again that thing Is epic, thanks for sharing this with us!!
So awesome! I thought you were going to faint from excitement, lol. My first nitro was an RC 10 GT black pan. I bought it off of RC Groups. Then I got an old Kyosho USA1 Twin nitro engine conversion. I still have them, and they still run! They don't make them how they used to.
I love a good retro, generally I modernise mine (without molesting) so I can keep all the original stuff mint. Ie I would personally pull the engine out and fill with oil (to preserve) and fit something else. Radio is a must, and any rare bits remove. Again keep the original shell and maybe bang a repro on it to bash. But hey that’s me! Lovely truck, gonna hunt the bay now!!!!!
Damn that’s sick! Props to dude for selling you a clean, sorted truck. My first ever nitro was an HPI Rush Evo that I bought used about 18-20 years ago. Wish I still had it when watching vids like this but I sold it to another nitro noob after a while and I chose to upgrade.
Wow that is a beauty fair play I bet you are now over welled with the nostalgia of that truck, drifts amazingly, can't wait to see more of it running 👍
As others mentioned it runs a little rich. It 'burbles' a bit when going on the throttle, thats how you can hear it's a bit too rich. When you press the throttle acceleration should be instant and it should sound clear/crisp, the typical methanol engine sound. But it's safer to be a bit on the rich side than run it too lean. That will ruin it fast. And when you won't use it for a while, let it run out of fuel at idle and put some after run oil in the intake and pull the starter a few times. Methanol/nitro is hygroscopic and will attract moisture which will make the bearings in the engine rust.
Sounded like it's a little over geared. A bigger spur or a smaller pinion (on the clutch bell) will let the engine rev higher. It also sounds like it's not quite "on song". Rich carburation keeps the engine well lubricated, but a leaner mix will get you more power. Lean it out gradually and you'll see and hear a big difference. Also make sure you can still see some smoke from the exhaust to be sure it's still properly lubricated. You should get some mini pin rears and ribbed fronts and take it offroad!
Hi Phil, great vid, love seeing the old skool rc vids and beautiful truck, I race nitro so I know a few bits, engine tune looks great to my taste - better a bit rich than to lean and if you haven’t already don’t forget to drain down the fuel and put some after run oil in to stop the Nitro corroding the inside of the engine 👍
Remember to pop back up an hit the thumbs up if you haven't already! s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DergdXp

I got the kyosho TR15 stadium force as my first hobby grade rc car i loved it and would love to get my hands on another one someday !
Way to go man! Its rare to see such a beautiful 1/10 scale RC Nitro! Love ur content Tomley 😍
That. Is. Epic. Guys we need to bring back nitro, cus there ain’t nothin better
POV everyone after switching to electric
THANKYOU FOR MAKING PHIL SO HAPPY 🇬🇧✌🏼
Glad you enjoyed it Mike 👌
I love NITRO. More please. 👍
I’ve got a 90’s Rustler to get going next 👌
That thing is awesome. Something about Tamiya cars, it doesn't matter if they are fast or durable, they're just awesome no matter what.
Vintage rc cars always welcome 💪👍
What an amazing historical rc truck!
I agree 👌
Loved this video! Very nostalgic. Wow that engine such a nostalgic sounding, I used to play nitro back in the days,
And one of it was Tamiya 8th scale nsx with that same motor👍😁
Yes, sounds good 👌
@@TomleyRC well it is mate😊👍
She’s definitely running quite rich. You can slowly turn the fuel mixture screw in till it sounds more smooth, like it sounds in the higher rev range, all throughout the rev range. It’ll also get rid of that bog down low and really wake it up.
Be careful though! Those early Tamiya engines have a habit to seize when leaned-out, especially with high nitro contents ( everything above 23% )
Awesome. That was fun to watch. Thanks for letting Phill buy it 👍🏻
EPIC!!! Indeed. I love seeing vintage RC. It looks in perfect shape. So happy for you.
love old tamiya nitros...
Just got a tamiya tnx 3.0
what a gem!
My god that thing is gorgeous,. There’s something about retro rc cars that modern ones just don’t have . I get that same tingle when I see a really nice Mrk1 golf
I can totally recommend early on a Sunday morning as the best time to run Nitro, and get four or five of your mates with their's as well! Awesome.
Man that’s a beaut. Your going to have Hybrid jizzing into a WWF mask.
Love these quiet exhausts on the older stuff too 👍👍👍
Very cool!
😃✊ 1:33
Buggy driver! 🪲3:47
C.A.F CONGRATULATIONS SIR 🇬🇧👍🏼
Never heard of this truck before watching this video. What an awesome thing. 😎👍🏻
That thing sounds GOOD!!!!!
Love the TR15-T ...👍 I've still got mine tucked away, had it from when I was 14 years old (I'm 43 now 😂) really need to get it out and use it again! Retro awesomeness. Looks great.

That’s a cool truck can’t believe how clean it looks
Yeah, I was very pleased 👌
That thing sounds like it runs so smooth.
Really nice buy, the guy looked after that 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes, it was way better than I thought it was going to be!
Super nice addition.
Beautiful truck mate. Thanks for the upload!
That is a pretty sick looking stadium truck.
Amazing car. Back in those days I couldn't effort it. But I bought the rims and tires to get my Stadium Blitzer road fit😁. Thanks for the presentation 👍
I have lots of love for the Stadium Blitzer. It was actually the trick that got me back in to RC about 10yrs ago!
Oh, man. That looks awesome!
Loving the Casioak
Was thinking the same thing
It’s a one I had done in Team TRC Colours 👌
yes definately a gem right there phil, i bought a TGX mk1 few years back now in almost prestine and i love it when i do actually take it out as its pretty much the same tires are hard and no grip but its awesome drifting around pouring out smoke and noise just love it , cheers for taking us back bro , 🙂
I saw this truck in the background of another video and wondered what it was. Big props to you for actually taking it out and driving it!
That is a thing of beauty.
Yeah nitro! I'm so old I can remember flick starting them!
Hello from Atlanta! Really love your “retro” content. Thanks for sharing!
Best looking stadium truck from Tamiya. 👍 I have a love hate relationship with my HPI nitro. I hate tuning it but it's definitely fun
Your filming is getting gooder!
That’s very, very good looking
Happy for ya, Phil!
Hello from a hole in the U.S.A. wall.. it is a cool truck. I have a 1994 RC 10GT. came with .12 then .15 now I've shoe horned a .26 in it. 😁😁😁😁 sweet!!!
That thing is bad ass idk what it is but the height stance and tire combo even the wheels look so good
Sweet looking little truck

Friggin great find! Enjoy it! 😁
Wow! Beautiful

Man that thing's a beast!! I've never been into nitro stuff, but I really love that truck!

Nice! Wished I’d done a bit of racing back in the day
What a find! Good work, man.
Love the way that thing drives; slightly plush suspension really absorbing the bumps, with satisfying pitch and roll. What a laugh!
I love this damn channel. Easily becoming one of my favorites 🙏🏿
Kendrick, this comment means a lot. Thank you 🤘
Vow! What a beauty and sound! Beautiful and cool NITRO!
Yes, looks awesome doesn’t it
Now all you need is a two speed transmission!!!, he’ll yeah…and a gps 👍
That is a really nice setup as it is love those rims/wheels.
Sounds wicked.. brings back some memories 🔧🔧
You have excellent taste man.. That is also my dream nitro! What a classic!

That sounds really crisp
congratulation for such a nice acquisition!!! :D

Beautiful RC
Those rims are stunning
Delighted to see one of you tubes best rc creators enjoying rcs best power plant. Beautiful car mate
Could almost smell that nitro through my phone, awesome vid phill
Wow... had one when it first came out, almost 30 years ago. Loved it, ran it to death...
That engine sounds real healthy
So awesome! I thought you were going to faint from excitement, lol. My first nitro was an RC 10 GT black pan. I bought it off of RC Groups. Then I got an old Kyosho USA1 Twin nitro engine conversion. I still have them, and they still run! They don't make them how they used to.
Wow a twin engine sounds like it would be INSANE! You should make a video on it with just the raw sound.
Always wanted this truck when it came out they need to bring it back with two speed transmission and all wheel drive still want one🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
I love a good retro, generally I modernise mine (without molesting) so I can keep all the original stuff mint. Sweet truck I cant beleive someone sold it
Damn that’s sick! Props to dude for selling you a clean, sorted truck.

I like this truck. Can't wait to see speed run video
very cool awesome Tamiya nitro
Have a word with Glenn,😉 great video mate.. the body looks so much like a stadium blitzer..👍🇬🇧😎
Super cool....😎
Wow that is a beauty fair play I bet you are now over welled with the nostalgia of that truck, drifts amazingly, can't wait to see more of it running 👍
I will say it does look kind of cool
Nice Will toys you have
If tamiya decide to reproduce this as an electric I will buy several, looks so awesome.
They did it was a Dyna Blaster
Looks fun....now you have to get a Kiosho....most have a 2 speed gearbox...they are scary fast...
Great video, great truck.
Love how low the body is. Would be cool to see a speed run with this....
Runs great! I have a rc10gt I have been trying to get running. Almost there🤞.
Good luck 🤞🏻
You must have like a million cars already.... awesome, thanks for all the cool content 🤠🤙🏼
Awesome little nitro!

Awesome nitro rc, never had a Tamiya nitro before. Sounds great, very healthy engine.
thanks
Wow... The truck looks and sounds sweet, Phil!!! 😮
Fantastic indeed!!! 🖖😊 for the guy who sold it to you!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Not a big Tamiya fan but that is really cool 👍😎
Looks like RC's aren't the only things whipping donuts in that parking lot.
That truck looks absolutely MADD! The seller took great care of it As it started quite easily. Awesome fun Phil! Thanks for sharing buddy!👍🏻💯🍻😃
The member berries are strong with this one my friend 💯
Hands Down one cool RC 👍💯
