Hunter x Hunter 2011 may be the superior anime, but they really missed out on having the best and creepiest scene. Kurapika killing it with the vibes. (and the phantom troupe)

for me the 1999 anime did the exam arc and the yorknew arc amazingly. Not that the 2011 was bad in any way but the former just had a haunting and unique vibe, even as I rewatched it.

Yeah the quality of 2011 makes it more consumable and the music can't be beat but there's just something about the atmosphere in the 1999 version. So eerie in some parts
