I guess the happiest time for Kurapika after the genocide should be the time spent in hunter exam with with Gon and other people. At that time, he hasn’t started any revenge nor encountered the enemies. He just need to enjoy the moment with his friends and go through the exam together.

Even after speedrunning hxh 2011 in like three days, i have to say the humor is superior so far in '99. For one, the characters interacted with one another a hell of alot more. That makes the audience more invested in side characters, as well as make the world feel alive. In 2011, no one interacted with each other so who would give a fuck when the ants killed hunters from the exam?
