My daughter in law stole my bank card information and used it on a Walmart app. The app allowed her to enter my information and use it for payment at the register. With the app you scan the app on your phone. No identification and no signiture required or asked for. She used this for over two months before I found out. I notified the bank and Walmart. The bank didn't pursue criminal charges. They returned the money to my account after I filled out necessary papers. The amount was roughly $3000.00. I filed charges with the police departments. (there were three separate counties involved with the multiple locations she used the app.) Walmart would not cooperate with me personally. They said they only worked with law enforcement. Long story short... She got away with it. Law enforcement said there was not enough evidence to prosecute her. She admitted to me she did it, showed me how she did it. However, that wasn't enough. Where's the Justice in this? What can I do to see her held accountable for her actions? Yes I got my money back.... But quite honestly what I had to go thru was horrendous. She got off Scott free.

The woman caller needs to smarten up and not let this thief continue. She's breaking the law and I'd have her charged,if the rest of the family doesn't like it that's tough. Don't let any type of fool know you won't let them get away with it.

Something cannot be civil when it is criminal. I think that a LEO that ignores a crime in front of her face is not a good cop.

Excellent advice, Dave. This is truly codependent. She is afraid because she is going against the "family programming". I don't "hear" that this situation is ever going to change until the young woman gets strong and asserts her boundaries.

If you're in LE then they run a credit check. Puzzled how she got accepted when she had already had a lot of debt.

Why does she keep laughing? Keep covering for this woman isn't solving any problem. This is a special kind of stupid! Get out of your own way.

Her father is culpable too. He allowed this woman in their home to take advantage of his kid. Then is asking his kid to not file charges and to pay off the debt out of her own pocket. No sympathy or empathy for the father on this one.

I remember a friend of mine in Jr high and high school who's step dad's sister had the same middle name as his mom's first name. So the criminal would be filling out loans and everything and say "I go by my middle name", have the ID to support it, but would then fill out the address and phone number of her sister-in-law. They would constantly get phone calls from debt collectors and have to explain that they were now victims of fraud.

I know someone like this. Parents who use their childrens names and social security numbers because their credit was so bad they couldn't get things so they damaged their kids futures.

I don't understand this, don't these companies who approve these loan investigate the age of the individual. How can this parent match his/her name with there kids social security number, wouldn't it show invalid? If I want to take out a loan, it would be hard to use my name & my brother's social security number, it wouldn't match. Why not just make up a social security number?🤔🤨

I never understood how they got away with it but unfortunately they did.

The mother wasn't sick when she calculated how to steal her family's names... and continuously KNOWING your family members are aware and paying her debt! That's not a mental illness. Its criminal, reckless, and selfish! One time, shame on the mother. MULTIPLE TIMES, shame on the family for not putting their foot down and reporting a crime! The mother has stolen from their inheritance of hope, peace, trust, and who knows how much more of their future is yet to be discovered in shambles after the fact! Despicable!

A person that I've known for 15 years and allowed into my home took my debit card and used it repeatedly to drain my bank accounts without my permission or knowledge as well as maxing out all of my credit cards causing hundreds of dollars in overdraft fees. My car was repossessed and I became 2 and a half months behind on my bills and rent. My credit was ruined.
