@@dwilliams2156 what he means i think is that modern guitarist tend to only focus on the technicality of guitar and shred... While "old" guitar tends to be more "melodic and bluesy"... but there is exception.

This guy is one of the most unique electric guitar players in our modern day and age. Nick has top notch phrasing, melody, vibrato and a killer technique. Not to mention he uses strats. Combine all that and you have one of the finest and most underrated players today.

His playing is next level but the writing is Supreme. He knows when to shred, when to make it sing, when to rock, when to whisper- there's a whole story inside of the songs. A whole range of emotions conveyed by nothing more than some strings on a piece of wood.

Nick is a super nice guy and from where I live. Nothing at all but MAD RESPECT for him and all his accomplishments. Guthrie also has been in the game about 15 of 20 years longer than Nick. Glad both share their awesome skills with us mere mortals.

    DUDE IS A MONSTER. 👹🎸
Tone is heavily influenced by SRV/Satch and he dips into the supershred Govan/Vai bag, but keeps it all very tasty, pulling off the occasional SRV fills with authenticity, soul, and reverence. Also love the non-whammy vibrato plate technique which is a TOTAL Junior Brown move.
*Nick: You likely popped in my suggested post feed on Facebook because I follow Toni "Shreddy Cat" Martinez, one of the best young guitar heroes on the planet. Hope to catch you at 2018 Summer NAMM here in Nashville!
