At 8:00 you can tell the far right ones heart is beating so fast. He's so scared that he couldn't blow out the stick he just put it back while still on fire.

I was in Drum & Bugle Corp snare line. Shared the field with the likes of The Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, Garfield Cadets, Bayonne Bridgemen, Madison Scouts, The Kilties, The Crossmen just to name a few. It was the time of my life. These guys are on a whole nother level. Truly the best.
I love the commitment to precision by everyone. At 3:12 one of the drummers drops a stick, but he sticks completely to the routine the whole time. It's visible as they make their way out that he never retrieved the dropped stick. I'm sure he got it eventually, but not until the performance was over.
Not sure how I would do with cameras on me either. There's enough pressure with the over the top choreography they have to remember. It's probably second nature/ muscle memory, but focusing on not messing up with a camera on you makes you think too much about it, therefore, mistakes. Was a pretty smooth recovery though.
While I can appreciate the fact this presentation is done in a confined space, which limits any camera operator, getting a wide shot of this drum line would be distinctly more entertaining - the uniformity and precision with which the TSDC does its thing is what people come to see.
They make that in every show and everytime one stick don't end with burning. The stickbags are fireresistent. But yes, I wouldn't do that with my drum😂🔥
I like the concept of system blue using carbon fiber shells but, not sure if the sound of the snares are any better or worth the price. For Dynasty’s best snare - around 250.00 less. Yamaha’s best - around 300.00 less. Perhaps the lighter weight and durability of carbon fiber may offset the price.
