@@apextest9735 it depends on what you use it for. If you are buying 9th Gen for school and browsing the web or pdf reading. 9th gen will be more than enough but if you want to play games and things. iPad Air will be the best option beacause it’s 60% more powerful due to the M1 Chip and it has 8GB Ram do multitasking works smoothly. It’ll always be better to use the headphone jack than even the iPad Pro speakers. And yes you can buy 200 dollar AirPods that’ll be much better than ear pods but in my house and probably a lot of others. We have 3+ EarPods laying around lol
I got the iPad 9th Gen in 2023 and I love it. The iPad itself is a powerhouse for me because I only use it for watching videos and movies, playing light games, and occasionally drawing. The front camera is great quality, the screen size is perfect, the screen quality is great for the price, and this is my opinion but I prefer the Home Button on iPads. It's also not very expensive starting at 329 USD on Apple's website, which is a great price for the quality and the things you get. It also has a HEADPHONE JACK, which you don't see on Apple products nowadays but it is really convenient. The only thing that I don't like is that it's not USB type C capable, but even that isn't a very big issue to me. In short, the iPad 9th Gen is a great budget-friendly choice if you are using it for light tasks (such as the ones mentioned before), or if you aren't looking to blow that much money on an iPad.
I bought the iPad 10 this week for casual use and I’m super happy with it. The design and colour options are great. I got the pink one, it was on offer for £379 versus 319 for the iPad 9 so for £60 I think that a year younger chip, the support for the newest pencil, usb-c, better speakers and a landscape front camera for calls was actually worth it. I’m very satisfied with my choice, after briefly checking the iPad Air prices (not on offer when I bought mine), there was no way I could justify a £200 price difference so I treated us with the Apple Pencil for £79 😊
I bought the 10 over the mini because I wanted the screen size and not necessarily the "performance". It's nothing you'd notice on day to day use. And the new USB C Apple pencil just came out so now it makes sense.
I changed from a 2018 11” iPad Pro to a Mini 6 last year and I absolutely do not regret it. Battery and screen refresh aside, it does what I need to as a light user, but some nice to haves would definitely be a ProMotion display and better battery for the Mini 7 if it comes out this year, If it does with my wish list features, I’ll definitely jump on it
If you are a student ona tight budget the current normal ipad or previous gen are the best deals! If you have extra to splurge an air is perfect either 4th or 5th. I purchased an IPad Pro back in 2020. I love Procreate and decided on a TB of memory for storing images. After two years Procreate started crashing. Trip to nerd squad only temporarily solved my problem. Fast forward to now and my Pro is basically a paperweight. I've had two laptops from Apple also and don't feel as if I got my money's worth from either of them. I won't be buying top of the line anything - Apple (along with most companies) have planned obsolescence in their products. Just continually upgrade while your IPad is still worth something and plan on doing this for the rest of your life. I've had a Samsung Galaxy phone for YEARS and have ZERO problems even now. But I love ease of use from Apple products and hate Microsoft. I have a freezer that's older than I am (54) that's STILL RUNNING. If you're wondering why life is so expensive it's because of planned obsolescence.
Here's a tip my dad taught me. If you want a new device, wait until the next gen comes out. The device you want will, yes, be one gen behind, but it will be cheaper because apple is trying to sell and get rid of them. (Kinda like how xmax decor goes on clearance after December)
Maybe, just maybe, you could add in what USED iPads are still worth buying in 2024. I’m thinking many of the 2nd, 3rd & 4th gen iPad Pros that are still amazing iPads and tremendous values in the used market. I note with great interest that you can easily get your hands on an 2018 11”, and a 2022 11” M1 or 2023 M2, but the 2nd Gen 11” from 2020 is almost nonexistent in the used market. It was SUCH a good iPad. For the $600 range, they readily beat out the new models for value.
I’m very tempted to wait for the new iPad pros, been wanting a larger display for art and using it as a second monitor for my MacBook Pro, but the rumors of extreme price hikes for the 2024 iPad pros is really making me consider the current 12.9” M2 iPad Pro. If the rumors are true and the base prices are getting bumped up by $500-$700, I’ll most likely end up getting an M2 anyway.
I need help which iPad should I be looking for? I want a iPad only for side car use,I want maximum screen size for the cheapest price. Please give me idea which model I should look into.
I don’t want OLED displays in iPads because it can suffer with burn-in after years of use, since I use the same iPad for years. This is a problem in smartphones too, but there the problem is smaller, because we change smartphones more than tablets.

I plan on keeping my M2 iPad Pro 12.9in for a few more years but I am interested in purchasing an iPad Mini once Apple releases it. The current iPad mini was great but the screen, battery life and 60hz kinda sucked that it made me return it after a week of using it. Hopefully they upgrade all those categories 😭🙌🏽
I think I’m gonna get the iPad Pro 11inch right now since I heard that the new models will have a major price increase. And if the newer pros are really what they say they will be when they drop I’ll just trade in my iPad for the newer one and pay the difference probably around the end of the year when the hype goes down.
I have the original iPad Pro and am ready for a new one (charging issues). I use it mostly for streaming movies . I will be getting the larger screen Pro when it releases.
I bought my wife an Ipad mini 6 one year ago and as Ipad Pro user I was not able to not see the skew display scrolling issue when using it in portrait mode...but for people who don't see it it is a great device. In my case we sold it in the end.
I’m currently using the iPad Air 4 and I’m now considering upgrading to an iPad Pro, but if Apple releases a larger iPad Air I might get that one instead.
I brought my current iPad 6th gen in 2018. I brought the iPad Mini today. Yeah I could have waited until the end of year for the 7th gen iPad Mini. But when you think you use these devices for 5 to 6 years before replacing does it really matter. I brought the Mini for practical reasons if traveling it gives you a bigger screen while still being portable, fits in the back pocket. It is modern with usb-c, relatively fast processor and screen large enough for streaming consumption. The pencil with wireless charging. It is interesting it was released almost 3 years ago and still pretty current a device. Normally I go for the stock iPad but the lack of support for the new pencil was a reason not to get, although the colour are cooler. Like many say the newer Mini is likely only to be processor bump. In combo with my iPhone Mini 13 it will be great.
With a decent discount im opting for the iPad Pro 12.9 m2 now. It’s a gamble but I think the OLED iPad pro’s if they are actually true rumors are going to be too expensive for me. I can get £150 off a new 256gb 12.9 m2 now….im going for it…
I know iPad 11 gonna have iPad 10 design but i wish Apple don't abandon iPad 9 design and created new 2024 iPad SE or something like that and use the iPad 9 or iPad Air 3 design with a new chip like A15 or upper than that + 4,6 or 8 gb ram, I will definitely buy it how much it cost. I really love the old iPad design, it's look beyond better than Air 4,5 and Pro.
I’m using mine to watch this video, it still handles all the task but on iOS 15 I heard upgrading software makes it very laggy, sometimes my tablet shows its age or maybe I’m used to my phones 120 refresh rate, honestly I would skip as you can get a 2021 iPad for 200 on back market
I'm wating for the M3 iPad Pro. My wish is for the manual 80% charge limit, and hardware bypasscharging. Game indefinietely with a sufficient poweradaptwer. And I reaaaaally hope all sizes get OLED 120Hz, but also at least 240Hz (non-pencil) touch sample rate. For gaming, I use controllers in wired mode. Bluetooth is too slow for TMNT Shredders Revenge
If my dad got me an 11in iPad Pro 256 gb model for Christmas, should I go through the hassle of returning it and waiting until march? I don’t even know if I need the upgrade because it takes notes wonderfully and edits photos from my Sony A7Riii in Lightroom like a dream. But at the same time I have heard the new iPads could be really good.
Synthetic benchmarks mean nothing in the real world. Until you place your processor under heavy load. I was wanting to look into this because I want a tablet which will let me run Photoshop, lightroom and video editing tools perhaps without the hassle of a laptop My man concern is only having 8gb.
As a big apple user, unless you're a pro designer and editor etc you won't notice the difference in performance. Casual uses should really think about using the ipad 9 and people who zoom a lot the 10 camera is worth it. Laminated vs non is not a big deal for most and neither is the pencil. Not everyone uses their ipad to game or draw etc as well so keep that in mind.
Id still get an iPad 9th Gen in 2024. Mainly because the size is great, it has a home button for easier touch ID, and a HEADPHONE JACK! Also, the smart keyboard still feels great on this thing.
I bought an iPad Air 5 (with M1) in November 2022 and I’ve been quite pleased with it. I figured this iPad should well enough for me for the next 4-5 years given my previous iPad Pro 10.5 served me well for 5 years before I wanted a change. I sold the 10.5 Pro which still had 85% battery life to help pay for my Air 5. But the prospect of a larger iPad Sir with M2 is something I could be tempted to seriously consider. We’ll see.
I recently bought iPad 9 gen and found it unusable as a hand held device. The only use case for most iPads is stationary on a table or as some specific device for drawing. So my conclusion and disappointment is that iPads fail as sofa/chair consuption devices. Too clumsy, heavy and uncomfortable for that use case. The only exception is iPad Mini which is too expensive and less refined ( jelly effect and too tiring on eyes while scrolling) - it desperately needs Pro Motion. It is evident from reviews that iPads are mostly bought for kids. Cases for iPads are mostly designed for kids. 10 years ago the concept of iPad made sense but nowadays I would rather use my smartphone on sofa/chair/ in a kitchen as a consumption device.
It is more portable than a computer, and a bigger screen than a phone. I owned the ipad 4th gen (2012 release) and used it up until 2022 when no apps were supported on it anymore. I used it more than my laptop and my iphone for movies, social media, studying, emails, and games. It is a comfort device but definitely not a necessary one; however, owning one has benefits over not having one as it could be a more portable and engaging mini TV
@@YorgoFeghaly I have ordered a Zugu magnet case for it with regulated stand. I hope it will solve its usability issue. Without regulated stand it is frustrating to use. I held iPad Mini in my hands and really enjoyed its compactness and ergonomics but I can't afford it. I bought iPad 9 gen because of its price $250. It is my first tablet.
@@proudbacteria1373 if it is of the same quality as ipad 4th, expect it to last for 3 ish more years of software support, then an additional 3-4 years of extremely good functionality (even without newer IOS). Hey, Vadim! Would you still recommend a 2018 iPad Pro in 2024? For my use case as a medical resident, I really find not much of a difference in daily use. But the 2018 is showing its age with battery life. I purchased an M1 iPad Pro, but now I’m thinking about selling it cause it’s pretty much the same machine overall. But also for long-term use, I’m sure it’ll be more worth it. Should I keep the M1? Or should I just have the battery changed on the 2018?
I am in medicine too. I would keep the M1 just because it can "extend" the display into a monitor instead of just "mirroring" the boxy screen of the ipad and not utilizing the full 16:9 aspect ratio of the monitor.
Please help can’t choose between the ipad 10th gen and ipad air 5 i’ll be using it for watching and kinda heavy games and school purposes which is better
Havent watched yet. Ipad 9 is still viable for the most basic of tasks. At that price and that design you’re not asking for alot and in return it can do most basic things just fine like a phone just bigger. Ipad air is probably the most any other person could need unless you must have the 12.9 inch or you need the pro screen display and refresh rate. But if the pro model is the must have, choose an m1 ipad pro. Nearly identical. Just at 1/4 the price. Ipad mini is for those that really want a convenient size and it handles tasks just fine as well. Overall the only ipad that sucks is the ipad 10 for having virtually no advantage other than horizontal camera.
I have the iPad 6th generation from 2018, it still works great but I noticed procreate is crashing and even my note taking apps are slow…what do you/anyone here suggest for a student/ occasional artist
Hello friend your doing great job in reviewing apple products . I brought the MacBook Air M1 after considering your review which works great for me even after 2 years but I need an iPad now my tasks are video lecture , documents , browsing and causal note taking (storage is not a problem ). which is best worth buy for me as a student . I need your suggestion because iPad line up is so dramatic
I got the iPad mini 6 on launch day, I love this thing. Just got my wife the iPad Air 5 for $450 (Best Buy sale), and got $185 trade on her iPad 9. Why? I used to be able to upgrade her iPad annually for under $100. With the launch of the 10, the price went way up and the trade value went way down. So this Air with the M1 (and much better, laminated display) will last her at least 5 years. She doesn't take photos with her iPad nor use it for video-conferencing and the M1 is plenty powerful (hell, it's same chip her desktop has) so not concerned about the rumored updates coming next month.
oh I'm so jealous on these prices. there are nearly double the price in europe. just paid 730 for the ipad 10 with 265 storage (64 would have been 550 Euros which is at the current course around 600 USD - you said in the video it is 349 USD, so...). and these prices already have a discount.
I take these videos with a grain of salt. I've watched videos that bash the Air Gen 6 13" but I personally love it. It's perfect for heavy lifting like video editing, and for games and movies. Plus it's just plain sexy. Research tablets before you buy one, but don't jump online after you've owned it for a couple months and start crying about buying the wrong one. Any iPad 2020 and up are ALL beautiful. Don't get buyers remorse!
The worst recommendation ever. Get any of these iPads except the 10th gen and 9th gen. Mini 6- for kids and e reader enthusiasts. Air 5- for everyone except editors (storage). Pros- Professionals on the move (thunderbolt for mitigating storage problems). Just don't try to chase the next best like these youtubers are encouraging you to, technology updates faster than your income. At the end, these are supplementary to your skills. We don't know what will come out in March, so we won't use any ipad for 3 months!? Then if a face-lifted edition gets released? Or worse, nothing gets released!? Then what? Just get one if you want to and upgrade down the line, if needed.
On iPad Pro, Google Docs SUCKS because the pointer location often differs from the location where changes will occur. I have to clean up with a computer.
I'm afraid they might discontinue the 2021 iPad mini 6 (or at least thinking about it) when they announce the inevitable iPhone fold to compete with the Android ecosystem.

I hate my 13” M2 iPad Pro! If I am watching RUclips and open a new tab, the RUclips tab will pause and force me to try pausing and playing or outright refreshing to continue the video. It’s a memory issue that Apple thinks and says is normal.
I’m gonna get the iPad mini 6 as a artist and someone who uses yt all the time I think it’s best for case, ipad, and protecter it’s only $4.17 I think that’s great
if it´ll be your first iPad and if you only draw as a hobby, then the 9th gen. would be totally enough🤔 also depends on the budget of course, but I can say from my experience that I can draw on it perfectly fine and I assume it would be fine for animating too (I don´t animate as of now)😊
iPad 9th Gen is a pretty good option if you will only use it for Drawing and animations but for powerful animations you might need a iPad like 10th Gen or iPad Air!
Question: When the iPad 10th gen is hooked up to a PC monitor do you no longer get the annoying black bars on either side of the screen? Did Apple fix this with latest update?
How many ppl use an iPad for media consumption like YT, Netflix?? To me, A14 or A15 etc or pencil or not.. or front camera.. dun matter.. i just want something to watch videos on.

And if the newer pros are really what they say they will be when they drop I’ll just trade in my iPad for the newer one and pay the difference probably around the end of the year when the hype goes down.
Blowing off the 9 th generation IPAD is a mistake - it’s by far the best value for most people
I have the original iPad Pro and am ready for a new one (charging issues).
I waited all 2023 for a new iPad Air. And I’m still waiting 😩
March is your month ✨
Update:March wasn't your month😭
@@PRAYERS4KIRBY it certainly wasn’t 😭
Come on May!!!
It’s now may & just released the new iPad Air 💀
Thanks for the advice! I'll wait.
Best choice was always Air
Really?
Do you think lpad 6 still good to use or no no?
Very excited for Pencil 3 and I hope it doesn't disappoint tho 🤞🏻💙
Which one is best for photo editing and content consumption
I have a 2018 12.9" iPad Pro, and it still works amazing. I have no idea when or if I'll upgrade it.
I’m currently using the iPad Air 4 and I’m now considering upgrading to an iPad Pro, but if Apple releases a larger iPad Air I might get that one instead.
Hi, I'm planning to play and stream call of duty mobile. Which ipad would you recommend?
Is the Ipad enough?
Anyone still have the 2016 iPad Pro 9.7 in (6th gen) ? Do you still you it or its paperweight right now?
What is your opinion on ipad air 5 for the business like Microsoft office , word excel and power point????
Its limited compared to macbooks.
Would you recommend ipad mini to an MBA student like me? I want an ipad for note-taking and easy navigation on MS office and all other business apps
Please go for the mini if your objective is primarily note taking.
I use the mini 5 and the size and weight is wonderful for note taking on the go.
I went with the 5th gen ipad air. the blue color is nice
would an ipad 9 be great for recording guitar thru garageband?
If my dad got me an 11in iPad Pro 256 gb model for Christmas, should I go through the hassle of returning it and waiting until march? I don’t even know if I need the upgrade because it takes notes wonderfully and edits photos from my Sony A7Riii in Lightroom like a dream. But at the same time I have heard the new iPads could be really good.
Return asap bro😅
unless you want to pay extra. I dont see any problem with the one you have, its actually one killer of an ipad.
Synthetic benchmarks mean nothing in the real world. Until you place your processor under heavy load. I was wanting to look into this because I want a tablet which will let me run Photoshop, lightroom and video editing tools perhaps without the hassle of a laptop
My man concern is only having 8gb.
Also, the smart keyboard still feels great on this thing.
exactly, I feel like it is the only iPad that has the best price-performance of all the models😊
Lol, for me the home button is the main reason for getting the 10th generation
How about call of duty
The new pros only difference from last year will be the m3,oled and better front facing camera
Bruh oled iPads will be crazy
I bought an iPad Air 5 (with M1) in November 2022 and I’ve been quite pleased with it. I figured this iPad should well enough for me for the next 4-5 years given my previous iPad Pro 10.5 served me well for 5 years before I wanted a change. I sold the 10.5 Pro which still had 85% battery life to help pay for my Air 5.
But the prospect of a larger iPad Sir with M2 is something I could be tempted to seriously consider. We’ll see.
How has your experience been with battery? Especially if you use around 60% brightness on it?
Super great video by this vlogger❤
What month is the release of the new line ups of ipad this year?
I used my device like crazy and till this day i get around 4-5h of battery on 60% brightness after 11 years of usage. Hope you enjoy your ipad 9!
I feel like the mini would be a better option for you
Btw! My 2018 has 83% battery life, while the M1 is 96%. Bought the M1 secondhand for $600 which I think is a steal
I am in medicine too. I would keep the M1 just because it can "extend" the display into a monitor instead of just "mirroring" the boxy screen of the ipad and not utilizing the full 16:9 aspect ratio of the monitor.
Please help can’t choose between the ipad 10th gen and ipad air 5 i’ll be using it for watching and kinda heavy games and school purposes which is better
air 5 deff
heavy games would def be air 5. right now only 400
@@rongfran8971 i have the 5 air now and dangg the performance is dopee
Is the ipad air getting updated as well in March?
Hello
Thanks for the review and links, Ipad 10 for now until the new air is released.
I don't own an ipad but basically for your use case the 9th gen(budget friendly) or mini 6 should be good.
You forgot to talk about the colors. iPad 10 was my only choice because I wanted to match my iPhone 11 yellow.
Is the battery on ipad air 5 good? Heard people getting around 3.5-5h
Damn that's horrible for real
im using it and yeah its fairly short, only if ur willing to turn down the brightness the battery life will live on
Did these get updated in March as you thought they would?
Where 185
oh I'm so jealous on these prices. there are nearly double the price in europe. just paid 730 for the ipad 10 with 265 storage (64 would have been 550 Euros which is at the current course around 600 USD - you said in the video it is 349 USD, so...). and these prices already have a discount.
That was super helpful, you saved me from a bad purchase.
When is the new Ipad Air coming out?
On iPad Pro, Google Docs SUCKS because the pointer location often differs from the location where changes will occur. I have to clean up with a computer.
The touch id integrated on the power button of iPads should be a thing on modern iPhones to bring back touch id
i want to buy my first ipad now and need it to hold for 6 years (med school) which one should I get?
iPad 10
Is there any compatible magic keyboard for the ipad mini 6
iPad Air will the best budget and the best iPad for gaming after iPad Pro
Can I have a free space grey iPad Air with 256gb storage?
The new iPad pro 2024 still didn't came out.. Does anyone know when it will come out? thanks
For someone who boight his very first ipad, i bought the ipad pro m2 cellular 12'9inch 128gb. And its worth the purchase
what would be the expected price for ipad pro m3? please tell me if u guys know
We don’t know! It might take a long time for it come beacause apple is focusing on the Vision Pro
I'm afraid they might discontinue the 2021 iPad mini 6 (or at least thinking about it) when they announce the inevitable iPhone fold to compete with the Android ecosystem.
I need help im a student & im planning to buy an ipad air + 2nd gen apple pencil for note taking, wathcing lecture videos, doing presentation etc. With that, do i really need a smart folio keyboard ?? Cu the one from apple is so expensive & im kinda feeling guilty conscious since its my mum's money..is there any other alternative good recommendations ? Please help
You don’t need buy smart folio . You also can buy ipad 10 gen + Apple Pencil usb-c .
Is the iPad mini 5 a good iPad?
Yes
I hate my 13” M2 iPad Pro! If I am watching RUclips and open a new tab, the RUclips tab will pause and force me to try pausing and playing or outright refreshing to continue the video. It’s a memory issue that Apple thinks and says is normal.
This is an iPadOS' feature, not just the big pro.
And the ipad pro 11” 3rd Generation?
Are they coming out with new iPads? Should I wait?
You can well there is not much chance of coming right now beacause apple is focusing on vision pro
I currently have the iPad Pro 11 (2018, how long you think it will be supported in software??
People often said that it will be supported until 2026.
It should last 8 years atleadt
I hope Apple introduces a Mini model with an OLED display and their M series chip.” 😊
I just upgraded from an iPad 7th generation to a iPad pro it’s a lot quicker screen is larger & more clear
I’m gonna get the iPad mini 6 as a artist and someone who uses yt all the time I think it’s best for case, ipad, and protecter it’s only $4.17 I think that’s great
Guys please i want to buy one to do my drawings and animation but idk wich one, i think ipad 9th generation is good, but am i right ????
if it´ll be your first iPad and if you only draw as a hobby, then the 9th gen. would be totally enough🤔 also depends on the budget of course, but I can say from my experience that I can draw on it perfectly fine and I assume it would be fine for animating too (I don´t animate as of now)😊
iPad 9th Gen is a pretty good option if you will only use it for Drawing and animations but for powerful animations you might need a iPad like 10th Gen or iPad Air!
Which would you reccomend games like call of duty mobile and watching movies online?
I still use ipad 6th gen
I using iPad 8, thinking of upgrading to iPad Air 5 for arcade gaming
I want to buy ipad pro 11(4th gen) is it worth in 2024
ipad mini 120hz is the only one worth buying.
Yeah. Good job Apple. 😢
as a artist avoid the non apple 2 pencils ipads. it can work but u will be demotivated to draw with how the charging is. just save for a air
I will stick with my iPad Pro 12.9 M1 for another 5 years
Good choice
Happy with my iPad Mini and my iPad Air...but if they upgrade the mini I'm likely to go for it and pass my old one down to my husband.
Haven’t heard any rumor of a new mini!!
